About: Over the years, since I was 12 I have personally owned two cats who I’ve treated as my babies. My babies I have now, Johnny and Mary, are my angels. I’ve gone to many vet appointments, I am experienced in giving medication and I am always gentle. Pet care fits perfectly into my schedule. My time is very open, I’ve been looking for a job for a while now especially one to do with animals! Nothing makes me happier than coming home to see my baby, so I can’t wait to meet your fur baby and give them lots of extra love!! Johnny and Mary are both indoor cats. I have plenty of toys around for them and let them relax when they like. I think it’s always a good idea to have water out for them so they are always hydrated. :) I have no problem taking your fur baby to the dog park or wherever you please.
“I don’t think I’m gonna ever had a better babysitter/nanny then Kaitlin. She left her synopsis of the day every day and did so much with my two dogs. They are in such great shape and more polite and Kaitlin came. I am so very happy with everything that Kaitlin did, her dedication was 100%”

“Nicole is so sweet! I know she loved my pups while I was gone. She sent me regular updates and pictures which I appreciated so much! Left the house exactly how it was, I would highly recommend her!”

“Hoangtram took very good care of our two dogs and our home while we were away. She is clearly an animal lover and our dogs immediately warmed up to her. We appreciated the regular updates and pictures. We will definitely book again!”

“Jay was prompt in their responses and they left our worried minds at ease. It was great to know that they had so much knowledge about animals, I had no concerns leaving our 3 cats in their care. They gave us updates and photos while we were away. I would recommend Jay without hesitation and will be using their services again in the future!”
About: I absolutely love dogs and my two golden retrievers are my whole world. Taking care of them has taught me how important patience, routine, and attention are, and I treat every dog I sit with the same way — like part of my family. I make sure they get plenty of walks, playtime, cuddles, and all the little extras that make them feel happy and loved. Every dog is different, and I enjoy learning their quirks and making sure they feel safe, cared for, and completely spoiled while I’m with them. I love dogs and my two golden retrievers are a huge part of my life, so caring for pups fits seamlessly into my day-to-day. I make sure they get walks, playtime, and cuddles without rushing — just like I do with my own dogs. I’m happy to work around schedules, provide consistent care, and make every dog feel comfortable, safe, and loved while I’m with them. Pets aren’t just a job for me; they’re part of my daily life, and I treat every furry friend with the same attention and care I give my own. My home is extremely dog friendly and my dogs are used to other dogs being in the home. We live on a quiet street and have a huge yard for them to run. We also live right next to a beautiful walking trail that I use daily.
“Simply amazing! My pets loved Mekeena and she was so informative, keeping me up to date on how the week was going while she took care of my 4 fur babies. 2 dogs and 2 cats. Mekeena truly went above and beyond from the start. She took the time to get to know the pets and gather any and all information relative to providing the best care while I was away. I instantly was ready to book her again for any pet sitting needs for the future! I would definitely recommend her and rebook!”

About: Hello there! :) I'm a freelance photographer who works from home, living in my spacious apartment with my partner and roommate. I am a huge dog and animal lover, my parents have two beautiful huskies (aka my siblings) and for two years I lived with my cousin and I helped take care of her adorable golden retriever while she was working as a nurse. I would take the dog out for walks a few times a day, always including one long walk to the park or hike, to make sure he had plenty of time to run around and play fetch or go for a swim. I would also practice his commands with him, to make sure that I was reinforcing what my cousin was working on with him at the time. They've since moved away, so I really miss having a dog around! Outdoor-time and exercise is very important to me so I can take your pets for lots of walks and make sure to give them even more attention and playtime while we're at home. We have a cat, Buttons, who we adopted recently. She can be grumpy so we keep her completely separated from the dogs that we have staying with us. Looking forward to meeting you!! I currently work as a photographer, so I'm mostly at home, working and editing photos with a couple of photoshoots throughout the week. I have a very flexible schedule, and plently of time for dog walk breaks throughout the day! I live with my partner and lovely roommate in a spacious apartment with a huge rooftop patio, just a two minute walk away from a public park, and a dog park. I will always respect your rules if I am a guest in your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sydney maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sydney walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sydney choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
