“Lauren was attentive and prompt with her service. She was on time, gave our cats lots of love, and took care of the things we asked of her to keep our cats happy. I would absolutely recommend her to other Rover users.”

“Niya did a great job taking care of our cats while we were away. She was on time, sent lots of pictures, and administered medication to one of our cats. We felt great knowing she was coming to see them. I’d recommend Niya to anyone looking for pet care.”

“Katherine is a star! She took great care of my 2 cats for a week. She made my vacation completely stress free; we’ve never left our cats alone. She sent me regular updates and pictures of the cats. Would definitely recommend her if you want your fur babies in excellent hands.”

“We were so nervous about leaving our cat, Mystique, for the first time—especially since she’s usually very shy around new people. But Tera completely put our minds at ease. From the moment we met her, she was warm, friendly, and professional. She took the time to really understand Mystique's needs and quirks, which meant so much to us. Tera went above and beyond during every visit. She was incredibly communicative, even going out of her way to send us updates and pictures—despite us having bad cell service and not always being able to respond. It was so reassuring to see how comfortable Mystique became with her! It’s clear Tera has a natural connection with animals and truly cares about their wellbeing. She was also super reliable and thoughtful, even keeping an eye on the weather to make sure she could safely make it to all her appointments with Mystique. That extra level of care and planning did not go unnoticed. We can’t thank Tera enough for making a stressful situation feel so much easier. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again, and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate, dependable, and truly exceptional pet sitter.”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets (mainly dogs) since I was 10. From my home dog to family’s dogs and neighbors. From walks to overnights - puppy’s to senior dogs. I work full time but am home various days a week. Always home Friday to Sunday for possible boarding as well! I walk my old guy every day :) I have a spacious 2 bedroom apartment with a nearby track and field for dogs to play and enjoy. Leashed walks around our little neighborhood!
About: Hello there! :) I'm a freelance photographer who works from home, living in my spacious apartment with my partner and roommate. I am a huge dog and animal lover, my parents have two beautiful huskies (aka my siblings) and for two years I lived with my cousin and I helped take care of her adorable golden retriever while she was working as a nurse. I would take the dog out for walks a few times a day, always including one long walk to the park or hike, to make sure he had plenty of time to run around and play fetch or go for a swim. I would also practice his commands with him, to make sure that I was reinforcing what my cousin was working on with him at the time. They've since moved away, so I really miss having a dog around! Outdoor-time and exercise is very important to me so I can take your pets for lots of walks and make sure to give them even more attention and playtime while we're at home. We have a cat, Buttons, who we adopted recently. She can be grumpy so we keep her completely separated from the dogs that we have staying with us. Looking forward to meeting you!! I currently work as a photographer, so I'm mostly at home, working and editing photos with a couple of photoshoots throughout the week. I have a very flexible schedule, and plently of time for dog walk breaks throughout the day! I live with my partner and lovely roommate in a spacious apartment with a huge rooftop patio, just a two minute walk away from a public park, and a dog park. I will always respect your rules if I am a guest in your home.
About: I absolutely love dogs and my two golden retrievers are my whole world. Taking care of them has taught me how important patience, routine, and attention are, and I treat every dog I sit with the same way — like part of my family. I make sure they get plenty of walks, playtime, cuddles, and all the little extras that make them feel happy and loved. Every dog is different, and I enjoy learning their quirks and making sure they feel safe, cared for, and completely spoiled while I’m with them. I love dogs and my two golden retrievers are a huge part of my life, so caring for pups fits seamlessly into my day-to-day. I make sure they get walks, playtime, and cuddles without rushing — just like I do with my own dogs. I’m happy to work around schedules, provide consistent care, and make every dog feel comfortable, safe, and loved while I’m with them. Pets aren’t just a job for me; they’re part of my daily life, and I treat every furry friend with the same attention and care I give my own. My home is extremely dog friendly and my dogs are used to other dogs being in the home. We live on a quiet street and have a huge yard for them to run. We also live right next to a beautiful walking trail that I use daily.

Have cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits as well, and so am experienced with them, too! I worked as a pet trainer with PetSmart, interacting with dogs of all ages and breeds. I loved my job and helping other pet parents learn to be great communicators with their dogs and advocate for them! I have a specialist honours degree in Comparative Physiology from the University of Toronto, with a major in Biological Anthropology and minor in Psychology. I’ve graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and am a practicing Chiropractor in Sydney. I am a practicing Chiropractor in Sydney. My schedule is quite flexible and my longest shift is typically 6hrs. I am happy to take on booking requests that fit well within my schedule. I prioritize learning the routine and norms of your pet (including cues/commands, preferences, medications, etc) that will ensure their comfort and consistency. I believe in being an effective communicator and our pets best advocate. I am continuously researching and learning how to improve as a pet parent and trainer. I do my best to ensure they receive good nutrition, activities, and rest. Understanding the breed(s) and the individual dog has helped me build great relationships with each individual pet.

Erica keeps going above and beyond every time she looks after my aging cat. In addition to requiring medication, my cat is a bit anxious and has been losing weight. Erica puts in extra effort to get her to eat her food, medicine, and treats. She allows me to travel without stressing, and I always come back to a happy cat.

There are 16 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Sydney. About 91% of Sydney sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Sydney stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sydney choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
