Aijun is great. She is so nice and so good with our sweet dog. I was not worried while I was away one bit. She updated me, took him for good walks and was available to look after him on short notice, which was greatly appreciated."

Super disponible et affectueuse avec notre gros toutou! En plus de s’être déplacée à la maison, tout était en ordre à notre arrivée et notre chien était très heureux/en forme. 🙂 Nous recommencerons sans hésiter à utiliser ses services!

About: Hi, I'm Leanne and I would love to take care of your pet(s) while you're away! I'm an animal lover who understands that pets are no less than family. Whether they need a walk, playtime or just some love and affection, I'll make sure to treat them as if they were my own! I'm patient, reliable and with many years of experience caring for dogs, cats and reptiles, you can be assured that my priority is always making your pet feel safe, happy and comfortable while you're away. Rest assured that no matter the length of my visit, I stay with your pet the entire time. I had a wonderful cat, Archie, who taught me how to properly and carefully administer medication and become very attuned to animals needs through body language and non-verbal communication. My family has always had bull breed dogs that I loved and cared for. I also had a frog, Fern, who lived a long and healthy life and reached 24 years old! I'll keep you updated with messages and photos, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and safe. I'm always a phone call or text away. I look forward to meeting you and your pet(s)! HOUSE SITTING HOURS - (starting after 7pm and ending before 9am) 12 hours, over night at your home * additional $50 for 24h sits DROP IN VISITS - 30-45 mins WALKS - 60 mins (or depending on your dog's needs) I currently work remotely, so have plenty of time to work my schedule around your pets. I am available 7 days week, day and night. I do not currently offer boarding in my home, however safety is my top priority when caring for your animals at your house. I make sure to follow your rules and keep your animals schedule as close to what they are accustomed to.

We had a fantastic experience with Valentina! She took such great care of our pets—lots of playtime, attention, and love. It was clear they were comfortable and happy with her. She also went above and beyond around the house, keeping everything tidy and even helping out with our backyard plants. Valentina kept us updated throughout our trip with regular pictures and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind about both the pets and the house. Highly recommend her and would absolutely book again!

Amira was absolutely fantastic. Our moody chihuahua took to her right away and she did great giving our senior boxer all the meds he needed with a last minute injury. She kept him happy even when his activity was low. Pups loved her and can’t recommend her enough. Lovers of pictures and updates throughout our trip.

Sofia stayed at our home for three weeks, looking after our dog and our cat, as well as the home, while we away on vacation. She is very easy to communicate with. We received regular updates and photos of our pets during this period from her. Not just our dog, but surprisingly our cat evidently liked her and we could tell she was genuinely affectionate towards them and needless to say, she took very good care of them. Sofia also followed all the instructions to the point. I would definitely recommend her to others who are looking for a trusted petsitter.

About: I am a huge animal lover and a Dog Whisperer as some of my friends call me. I have been a dog owner as long as I remember. I already have a furry kid Bella, who is very friendly with other dogs and loves play dates with her friends. I am used to dog walking and pet sitting for my family, friends and neighbors. When we moved from US, we had to face many issues in regards to Bellas transport and stay and I know the feeling when you are unable to give your fur kid the best of best while moving or when you are on a much needed vacation. I will always keep you updated with the photos of your pet having fun. I will be right here when you need someone to take care of your pet just as part of a family! Doggy Day Care - Saturday, Sunday and Holidays Doggy Boarding - Friday Evening after 5.30 to Sunday Night 8.00 Dog Walking - Saturday and Sunday Someone would always be with your pup during his/her stay at our place. Depending on the energy of the pup and weather, we will head out for multiple walks in the park or stay inside playing. We have a fenced backyard which would be accessible for play time. In case its snowing or raining hard, we prefer to stay inside and have fun playing with toys, balls and what not? 😊

About: Hello! My name is Taylor. I am an experienced, friendly, energetic, caring dog walker and sitter, and I can't wait to befriend your best doggo pal! I have dog/housesat in England, Canada, USA, and New Zealand and I worked for three years in a doggy daycare centre in Montreal where I earned my Certification in Dog First Aid through DogSafe Canine First Aid. I have extensive experience with senior and disabled dogs as my last dog, Mama Hippo, had arthritis, hip dysplasia, and significant mobility challenges. She required injections which I administered monthly. I grew up with two Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers named Camey and Shreddie along with a West Highland Terrier named Nutmeg - so I have plenty of experience walking multiple dogs at once!! The dogs I have cared for as a dogsitter in the past include Ziggy the Italian Greyhound/Boxer-Mix Rescue, Abby the Boxer, Lucy the Yorkie, Conan the Italian Greyhound, Ollie the Coton de Tulear, Maggie the Great Dane, Tekia the Westie, Bentley the Pit Bull, Eevie the Pomeranian, Mia the Chihuaua, and Ruger the Labrador Retriever. I am more than happy to provide further references upon request. I live in the Plateau with my partner and our friendly rescue dog Bailey. I am available throughout the week as well as on weekends. We live in a walk up apartment a short walk from the mountain and Parc Jeanne Mance. As a Master's studies student currently working on my thesis, dog-walking and dog-sitting helps keep me active. Dogs bring me so much joy, and I am grateful to have been able to find ways to enjoy quality dog time. I love to send pupdates of our time together, so you can expect to receive frequent photo and video messages throughout your pooch's time with me! Please contact me for any further information on services I can provide and let me know if you would like to arrange a Zoom Meet and Greet before booking my Rover services. Looking forward to connecting with you and all the exciting pawsibilities ahead! **My rates can be flexible. I’d like to accommodate other dog lovers and be able to make something work 💕** SCHEDULE: As a graduate studies student, I work from home throughout the week and love having doggos around to go on walks with for a brain break and have a snuggle on the couch between meetings. I am committed to being attentive and present with your pooch while we spend time together and love when they make a special guest appearance during my Zoom meetings. At the same time, since I am currently working on my thesis, I can accommodate lower-energy dogs and dogs that enjoy a good run around outside at the park who are then content to nap/take it easy at home for a few hours to allow for some solid, focused study time. SAFETY, TRUST & ENVIRONMENT: In trusting your beloved pooch with me, I am committed to providing the utmost safety, care and comfort for you and your pooch during the time I am hosting. An initial consult conversation - in person, over the phone, and/or video call - is helpful in clarifying my living space and surrounding environment (i.e. urban, flat, nearby park, etc) to discuss whether I am the best fit to host your dog. I believe in positive reinforcement dog training as informed by evidence in Animal Behaviour and Applied Behaviour Analysis that involves compassionate treatment. Consistency is important, so I'll ask you to let me know what commands you have with your dog so I can use them too!

Lorenço is the sitter you're looking for! He's been caring for my energetic 4-month-old terrier several days a week and has consistently been reliable, patient and understanding (especially during the ongoing puppy biting phase!) He adapts to Watson's needs and treats him like his own. I always know Watson is in great hands while I'm at work. I trust Lorenço completely and highly recommend him. 15/10!

Merci Manon!

About: I have extensive experience caring for dogs and cats through long-term house sitting as well as throughout my personal life. Over the years, friends, family, and homeowners have trusted me to care for their pets while they traveled, including extended stays in Australia, New York, and Las Vegas. In Australia, I cared for a Poodle and a cat for one month while staying in the owners’ home. In New York, I looked after a Dogo Argentino for one month. In Las Vegas, I completed two additional long-term house sits: one for a month with a Chihuahua and a large Golden Retriever, and another for four weeks caring for two medium-sized dogs—a mixed breed and a Poodle. Beyond house sitting, I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life. I grew up with breeds of all sizes, from Weimaraner's to Poodles, and have also cared for Cocker Spaniels, Schnauzers, and many mixed breeds. Friends, family, and roommates regularly trusted me to care for their dogs while they were away, often for a week or longer. I’ve also fostered rescue dogs until they found loving permanent homes. I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique personality and routine, and I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and well-being while keeping owners updated throughout their stay. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide pets with plenty of attention throughout the day. I can easily adapt to your pet’s routine, whether they need walks, playtime, feeding, medication reminders, or simply companionship. I’m available on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays with advance notice. I live in a spacious 5½ apartment that provides a quiet, comfortable, and pet-friendly environment. One of the bedrooms is rarely used, giving pets extra space to relax if they prefer a quieter area. The apartment has built-in air conditioning to keep pets comfortable year-round, as well as a large private back terrace where they can safely enjoy fresh air and sunshine between potty breaks. I’m just a 3-minute walk from Parc La Fontaine, making it easy to provide regular walks, exercise, and plenty of outdoors. I always follow each pet’s routine and the owner’s instructions to help them feel safe, comfortable, and at home during their stay.

About: I’ve had a soft spot for animals since I was young and loved helping care for my friends’s pets, gaining great experience with different kinds of animals. I also grew up with a Boxer/Lab mix, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. For the past two years, I’ve worked as a dog groomer assistant, where I’ve learned how to keep pets safe, comfortable, and gently handle unique dog characters. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and truly at home while you’re away — belly rubs and tail wags included! 🐶🐾 I work full-time, so I’m most available on weekends and before or after work hours. However, I’m happy to be flexible and make time for your pets whenever needed. I’m really attentive and love giving your pet lots of love and care. I’ll make sure they get plenty of potty breaks and time to stretch their legs. Whether your pet is at my place or yours, I keep things safe, clean, and cozy for them.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Mont-Saint-Hilaire on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,071 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mont-Saint-Hilaire. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mont-Saint-Hilaire maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mont-Saint-Hilaire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mont-Saint-Hilaire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
