“Richard and Melissa were amazing! We dropped our 4 month old husky off for the afternoon and they provided tons of updates, pictures and even videos of him playing with our pup. Their dog is extremely well mannered and friendly. Amazing with younger puppies. Would highly recommend booking with them as I know I will book with them in the future as well!”

“Our Loki is always excited to spend the day with Jayson & Lovely. We get photo and video updates throughout his stay and we can see that he feels at home.”

“Was so sweet & gentle with my little guy. He seemed like he had a great time & was ready for a nap after some play time with his new furry friends. Thank you again! 💛”

“Erin and Mason were wonderful with Loki! Erin took the time to ask lots of questions beforehand so I felt confident leaving him with them. They sent plenty of photos and videos throughout the day, which gave me so much peace of mind. Loki had such an enriching day playing with their dog, Ghost, exploring, and having fun and he came home happy and completely tired out. They were also very accommodating when our drop-off and pick-up times changed. It’s clear they genuinely care about the dogs they look after and treat them like their own. We’ll definitely be booking with them again!”

“Bibiana and Cesar have been great with our girl, Ziva. We had a last minute request for 3 days of daycare and they were available. Ziva took to them quickly and they enjoyed Ziva. We would definitely book with them again.”

About: We know how hard it is to trust someone with your baby and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. It even took us a whole year of knowing our own sitter (now friend) before we felt comfortable leaving our pets in their care. It's our duty to make sure your pets are always safe and happy under our care. FYI, we absolutely will use baby voices with your fur babies because we just can’t help ourselves, they’re soo cute! 🥰 Over the years, we’ve cared for many wonderful pets — including two closest to our hearts, a sweet cat named Cubs and an energetic pup named Peke— and we’ve loved every moment of it! Our home has baby gates, a fenced backyard and a cozy balcony, perfect for fresh air and supervised playtime. Cats and dogs make us laugh and smile every single day. Adam and I are always sharing funny and adorable pet videos with each other and we’d love to have another pet of our own someday, but for now, caring for yours feels like the next best thing ❤️. Please note: we’re currently accepting one pet at a time and no puppies at this time. Pets must be potty trained. I work from home and set my own schedule, I can give your pet lots of care, companionship, and supervision throughout the day. My husband Adam joins in the fun when he’s home from work. We’re a true pet-care team! Fexible drop-off and pick up times available. We’re also childfree, so our pets (and yours!) get all our attention. Our home has a fenced yard perfect for playtime. We have dog beds and comfy spots to rest on every floor and water, and plenty of toys to keep everyone entertained. Working from home on my own hours, I’m available 24/7. We also have a couple cameras installed in the house. 🏥👩⚕️We have a 24/7 vet clinic 2 minutes from our home in case of any emergency and we’d notify you immediately if anything were to occur. Our pets Hera and Aries are up to date on all of their shots💉. We know communication is key, so we’re happy to send updates, FaceTime videos, and plenty of pics. Whatever you need, whenever you need, to give you true peace of mind. Whether it’s cuddles, walks, or keeping your pet’s routine steady while you’re away, we’re here to make sure they feel loved. ❤️
“Danylo was the perfect match for my dog. My dog is very gentle and timid. This is first time I’m using Rover.. Danylo was accommodating we’re coming in from out of town so the timelines were changing a little bit. He was punctual, had a wonderful smile and made my dog feel instantly comfortable with his kind energy. I got pictures sent to me showing me. She was OK and having a good time which put me at ease.. I’m very grateful he was able to take such good care of her and I will definitely be using him again and recommending him to others.”

“We were in a tough spot and Elina and her husband took Lola in with open arms for the whole day! They sent updated pics and made us feel at ease… when we picked her up it was like she couldn’t have cared lol she was ever so content!!! Highly recommended!!”

“We left our 5 month Bichon Frise with ShuangShuang and her partner. They took excellent care of her. We received lots of pictures and videos. She received lots of play time. We will definitely bring our pup back.”

“Diana took wonderful care of my fur babies. Her patience is phenomenal with my anxious pups, and she’s incredibly flexible with my constantly changing schedule. She keeps me updated with messages and pictures, which I really appreciate. Even her kids spend time with Basil and Kobe, giving them extra love and tummy rubs.If you’re looking for someone you can truly trust to look after your beloved babies, I wholeheartedly recommend Diana.”

“Pamela is a great communicator. She let me know she also had another dog that day to give me an option to find someone else. We went to the Canadian Human Rights Museum just 5 minutes away. We were very happy to have a safe place for our dog as we were travelling across Canada.”

“Erin was AWESOME! She is very calm and caring. This was our first time leaving our pup with someone other than family and we felt super comfortable and confident with her in Erin's care. She honored all of our care requests and asked questions. We were sent a text to reassure us everything was okay and she even sent us a cute picture of our pup. We highly recommend Erin and will definitely seek her out again when we visit Winnipeg!”

“Georgia was very comfortable with Candice and her home. It was great to receive pictures with updates so i could see she was content and happy during her stay. I would 100% recommend and we will be back :)”

“She cared for Nia with the same love and attention one would give to their own dog. Throughout her time with Nia, Melanie consistently kept us updated on her activities, which gave us peace of mind and confidence in the quality of care being provided. Melanie is exceptionally kind, has a natural love for dogs, and communicates with ease and clarity. Her professionalism, reliability, and genuine compassion make her an outstanding caregiver. I highly recommend Melanie to anyone seeking someone trustworthy and dedicated to the well-being of their pets.”

“We were in Winnipeg for a short visit and Jennifer’s help in taking care of Aspen was a tremendous help to us. Communication with her was easy, quick, and always friendly. Jennifer was very accommodating to our schedule which helped a great deal. She sent us pics to let us see how things were going. It was really helpful that she took the dogs out for a walk shortly before we picked Aspen up since we had a long drive ahead of us. Thank you so much, Jennifer ❤️ Aspen was a happy puppy in your care 😊”

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Headingley commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
