About: Dogs are my life ♥️ I’ve worked professionally with dogs for over 13 years, but I’ve been dog obsessed since I was a little kid and have never been without a dog (or two or three) in my life. I currently own three very loved and very spoiled dogs, and I promise that your dog will be loved and cared for like they were one of my own 🐾 -BOARDING UPDATE- I am excited to now offer boarding !! When your pup stays with me, they're treated like family. I provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment where your dog(s) can relax and feel at home. Dogs are not boarded in our house, but in a comfortable space dedicated strictly to guests attached to our house. Our property features a spacious yard, perfect for playtime, exercise, and fresh air. So if your dog loves to run, explore, or simply lounge in the sun, they'll have plenty of room to enjoy themselves. I pride myself on offering a loving and caring environment, giving every guest the attention, affection, and companionship they deserve. To make sure each dog feels secure and stress-free, I only book a limited number of dogs at a time. This allows me to focus on their individual needs and ensure every pup has the best possible experience. And because I know how much you'll miss your dog(s), I provide regular updates with pictures and videos so you can see how happy and well cared for they are during their stay. 🐾 My schedule and availability is flexible, so we can find the perfect day and time that will work best for you and your dog(s) !

“I found Dorotea to be fantastic and quick repons to all messages from the start. Was able to accommodate my Pomeranian, Domo and also provided updates in form of photos and messages. I was working my first day at work and Dorotea healpd tremendously ease my worries. Very knowledgeable with care and easing anxiety separating from me. Thank you and highly I recommend. Will book again on my next shift!”

About: Caring patient pet lover with life long history of living with and caring for dogs. Experience with cats as well. Have studied and worked in behavior therapy field in past (not offering as a service now, but am knowledgeable of techniques). Have a loving and playful boston terrier cross at home that loves company and snuggles. Slow, guided introductions are important for both myself and my pup- safety, security and fun is key! Crate training (or at least familiarity with ex-pen gating) is important for overnight stays as I may have to step out for short periods and dont feel comfortable leaving unbonded dogs alone together without supervision! I run a small business from my home and set my own works hours so I am extremely flexible. Open and honest communication is very important to me! Please note there are 3 dogs in our home- my pup plus 2. One is a tiny senior, one an energetic spaniel mix puppy I work for myself, from home so I have no predetermined schedule that requires me to leave the house - I can be very flexible We have 2 different fenced areas behind the house - one small with doggy door, the other full yard size. Plus we have unfenced acreage beyond that which our dogs are invisible fence trained on, is good for leashed exercise for untrained dogs
About: Between my husband and I we have over 10 years of pet experience. Between growing up with animals and more recently fostering dogs, in addition to dog sitting for some friends we've had a wide variety of dogs in the house. I work part time which allows me the flexibility to spend lots of time with the dogs. I'm a morning person and enjoy getting up early to go for walks, and now that it's nice out I'm likely to be outside most of the day! We have a big fenced yard which is great for the dogs to run around and play. We also live in a quiet little town which is perfect for taking the dogs for walks with minimal distractions
About: I have taken care of dogs of several breeds since I was 15. I can administer medicine, train your furry friend or any other special needs during their stay. I am currently planning to keep 1 or 2 pets per day in my care. I am available weekends and weekdays. Feel free to chat ahead of time to book. I have a 2 years old Golden retriever. He is very friendly with other dogs. I have a fenced yard where they can play together.
“Mandy did an amazing job watching our two dogs Sadie and Daisy. We received a lot of picture updates showing them having fun on walks and being relaxed and well taken care of back at her home. Thank you so much for the care and attention you gave to our two babies. Will definitely book with Mandy again and highly recommend her to everyone!”

“We are glad with the care provided by Anna. This was our first time leaving Wrinkiw with anyone (other than family staying in our own home) and it worked out so well. Especially the updates and pictures that was sent by Anna was highly appreciated! Thank you so much! ☺️”

“Pamela is a great communicator. She let me know she also had another dog that day to give me an option to find someone else. We went to the Canadian Human Rights Museum just 5 minutes away. We were very happy to have a safe place for our dog as we were travelling across Canada.”

“Our Loki is always excited to spend the day with Jayson & Lovely. We get photo and video updates throughout his stay and we can see that he feels at home.”

“Autumn is a wonderful caretaker when my little hyper pup was there to visit. Very welcoming patient and always keeping me updated! Very loving to my pup! Would recommend 10/10”

“We are repeat customers of Mary Anne. Our dog, Fernando, was very happy to go to her house on the second day of day care. This was a good sign that he had a good time the day prior, and i was positive it was a good environment for him to be in. I also really appreciated the photos and videos she sent, and all the updates we received throughout fernando’s stay. Mary Anne is very honest about what they did during the day, and happily followed all of our care instructs. Would highly recommend her, and will rebook!”

About: Hello everyone! I recently moved to Winnipeg from Italy with my boyfriend and our beloved dog. I've already worked as a dog sitter in Italy and I can't wait to meet your pups here in Canada! My English isn't perfect yet, and I'm studying it diligently every day, but don't worry: the language of the heart and cuddles is universal! I guarantee that every instruction, need, or specific request for your dog will be listened to with the utmost attention and precision. Having a dog myself, I know exactly what it means to love them as family. I will treat your furry little ones with the same dedication, patience, and love I give my own. I'm improving my English, but I'm a very precise person and will use translation tools to ensure | follow all your instructions perfectly.❤️ Your dog will feel very stimulated at my house and will definitely have company, as he can play with my dog, who is very friendly with everyone. I also have a small balcony, so when the weather is nice, we could even sit outside for a bit. I'll let him play. It's also part of my building, and there's a small dog park, so we could easily go down and play a bit there. I also have a kennel and some toys for my dog at home, so everything is already set up to make him feel at home too.❤️ My home is a welcoming place. My apartment is pet-friendly. Pets are more than welcome, and I will, of course, give your pet the utmost attention.
“Tyra made our trip to Winnipeg amazing!!! We have a high anxiety rescue dog and her and her home and her pup made him feel calm and relaxed while we left him all day to do things. In fact - taking him back on day 2 - he was excited to get back to her and didn’t give us a second glance. She is a dog whisperer who I can’t recommend enough. Thank u so much Tyra - our time in Winnipeg wouldn’t have been possible without you.”

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Selkirk commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
