1. Iris & Brianna F.
About: My partner was managing a 70 dogs kennel in Quebec for 5 years. She had good trust in dogs and believed they would behave better with more trust and freedom so worked toward having most of the dogs off-leash. She organized the kennel space into team, instead of having one big "open cage". They discovered new personalities, new leaders, and built improved relationship with the dogs! She was also working in a boarding kennel in between the sledding seasons. This is where she got to work and learn from different breed than huskies (😅). With all the dog experience she has, who would believe that she is actually a CAT person!! Nothing would beat her profound relationship that she has with our cat Marj, aka Marjorie and Claude-Emelie. Iris is more about freedom and trust, where as i am very into learning and training with the dogs. Dog behaviour and training is something i am passionate about and hope to pursue in the future. We have a very welcoming family with 3 dogs and 2 cats, plus some usual additions when friends come and drop their dogs off for a social day. Lucie, 4 is a alaskan husky. Florence, 3 a small mixed breed terrier who thinks shes a husky and our newest member Solange, 8 month old siberian husky. And our two cats, Marj is 6, and Claudie is 9 months. We take our dogs exercise and mental stimulation very seriously. They get on average two 1 to 1.5 hour walks a day in our trails off leash. If we are short on time we will bike them around the neighbourhood and they also get leashed walks for practice. In the winter we Skijor and walk in the winter trails. They get opportunities to swim in the lakes and creeks when we walk take a day trip out to the lake. We have a secure fenced yard and live away from main roads. Our dogs have freedom to be inside or outside depending on what they like, usually they will sleep inside at night but often when its warm the huskie's ask to be outside. We have two very friendly cats in the house, so cat friendly dogs are a must. We will never leave other dogs unsupervised with the cats for safety.
