“Louise took our dog on daily walks for a week for us. I was impressed she wanted to meet us before she finalized the booking to know if it was a good fit for both. Marley clicked with her and we were very happy with her and grateful for the great walks and updates. Thank you for taking good care of her, it was a relief to know she was in capable hands.”
About: I have enjoyed caring for pets since I was a young child growing up with a cat. I appreciate the fresh air, exercise, and playfulness of caring for pets. I will be glad to do what it takes to meet the specific needs of your loved one(s)! I'm currently working remotely with a flexible schedule, so I am available to care for pets on basically any type of schedule. I am happy to work around your routine. Frequent sessions to play with or care for pets are fine! I'm living in 100 Mile House right now, but I'm looking to spend some time away in the upcoming season. I would come to you by long-distance bus, so I'm not able to do an in-person meet-and-greet. I'm happy to do a detailed call ahead of time to explore a possible fit. Safety is paramount :) When I walk dogs and cats, I double-wrap the leash around my wrist to keep a safe grip. I am careful to keep awareness of the pets' whereabouts at all times.
About: Several years ago, I got involved in dogsled guiding, and I immediately fell in love with the dogs and the bond formed between musher and canine. This sparked a passion for dogs in sport for me. I love running, skiing, and biking with furry friends. As an active person with 2 dogs of my own, I am happy to share the fun with any pup - from a leisurely stroll to sprinting on-line in a harness. My experience in dog handling has covered new puppies, to senior dogs - I love them all! Let’s meet and see how we get along, and then, let’s run! I do work shift work and on-call, so while this allows for flexibility, I have no set days week-to-week. That being said, my ability to come at a broader range of times on days off is beneficial. *For more availability please message me as sometimes days marked “unavailable” are simply reserved for on-call and can be modified.** I have attended training classes with my own dogs using positive reinforcement which I will implement with any dog in my care. I am happy to care for your dog alone, or, if it suits, I can bring my two for company (*situationally dependent**). I am more than happy to accommodate for any tools or systems you require to be used with your dog. *I am not a dog trainer, but will use your training regimen when out with your pup* Drop-in visits can include potty breaks, a quick play in the yard, medications (*dependent*), snacks, and belly rubs.
About: Animals have always been a part of my world. I've raised 5 dogs and more than 20 cats of different breeds and personalities since I was little. Each one taught me something unique about care, patience and connection. I also used to help my dad with pet grooming in his salon, which also gave me hands on experience on pet grooming as well. I'm currently a student so I'll have plenty of time to spend with the little ones. I'm available mostly on weekends, but my schedule can be flexible if needed. I would care for them like I do my own. Keeping company, and however they wants to be treated. I miss being around my pets back home so I will be sure to take care of them with utmost care and love.
