“I can’t recommend Haley highly enough! This was the first time I’d ever left my two-year-old dog for five nights, so I was incredibly anxious about being away from him for that long. Haley put my mind completely at ease. She was reliable, incredibly responsive, and sent me so many updates and photos throughout my trip, which meant the world to me. It was obvious how much she genuinely cared for my dog, and by the time I got home, it was clear he absolutely adored her. She also left my home spotless and truly went above and beyond in every way. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, kind, and genuinely passionate about animals, I would recommend Haley without hesitation. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Cindy is fantastic! From the moment I met her I could tell how much she cares about animals. My puppy loved her, and it was so nice knowing Cindy had everything handled when I was gone. She’s professional, friendly, and great with pets. I’ll be booking her again!”

About: What sets me apart as a pet sitter is my lifelong passion for animals and my deep, personal connection with dogs. Growing up, I had two beloved pups who were my constant companions. Being away from them has only deepened my love for pets, inspiring me to channel that affection into caring for others' furry family members. In addition to personal pet care, I bring unique experience from my home country, where I actively cared for street dogs. I provided them with food, offered them shelter, and ensured they felt safe and loved. This hands-on involvement has given me well-rounded expertise in understanding dogs of all temperaments, backgrounds, and needs. Whether it’s showering dogs with love, ensuring their comfort, or managing unique care requirements, my diverse experience makes me uniquely qualified to care for your pet with the same dedication and compassion I’ve always given my own. Trust me to treat your pet as if they were my own! Pet care fits seamlessly into my routine as my studies are currently complete, and I’m working part-time. This flexibility allows me to dedicate ample time to providing exceptional care for pets. I’m mostly available in the afternoons and early evenings every day, making it easy to accommodate your pet’s needs and ensure they receive the attention and love they deserve. When caring for pets at my clients' homes, I prioritize creating a comfortable and familiar environment for them. I follow any specific instructions provided by the pet owner to maintain their routine, whether it’s feeding, playtime, or any special care requirements. As part of my service, I also offer dog walking, ensuring pets get the exercise and stimulation they need to stay happy and healthy. I make every walk enjoyable, safe, and tailored to the dog’s energy level and preferences. My goal is to provide attentive, reliable, and loving care while keeping pets relaxed and content in their own space.
“We were so happy with our experience of having Sarah stay in our home to take care of Archie. She sent several pictures and updates and we could tell he was well loved while we were gone. She left our house spotless and our dog happy and relaxed. I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. We hope she is available the next time we are looking for a sitter for Archie.”

“Rachel was amazing. My first time leaving Rexy with a babysitter but she was incredible with communication and reassuring me. She organized a meet and greet first so he and I both felt comfortable. She was always prompt and kept me updated with photos. Would absolutely book her again and plan to anytime I need a sitter. Thanks Rachel!”

“Lydia did a wonderful job of taking care of Archie and our home. Archie is a little shy but warmed right up to her. She took him for lots of walks, even in the rain. I’d highly recommend Lydia. We were able to relax and enjoy our weekend as we felt very comfortable leaving Archie in her care.”

“Chantal was amazing with my dog. She had a hard time with new people but Chantal was calm and great and my dog warmed up very nicely. The house was left clean which was a huge relief 😅”

“Molly was great! I got lots of photo updates & I could tell my dog really liked her. I have an EXCEPTIONALLY small dog (a very slight 3lbs), and I’m hesitant to leave her with just anyone because of her size. Molly was great at reassuring me and did a wonderful job managing an extra small (and demanding) dog!”

“Jax loved Ian.. he was super reliable and was very kind and loving to jax. He took jax out for may ball runs and walks.. ian was very reliable and knew jax was safe and happy while we were away.”

“Poorvi provided excellent care for our cats in our home. She communicated daily giving us updates with photos. They were clearly very relaxed and comfortable with her, which is saying a lot for our older tabby in particular. Thank you Poorvi, you made our time away wonderfully relaxing!”

“Christopher was professional, friendly and kind right from the start. He spent a week looking after our 2 dogs and 2 cats, sent us photos and updates, giving us peace of mind knowing they were being looked after and cared for. We would highly recommend Chris!”

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cornwall maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cornwall walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cornwall choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
