Fantastic experience having Connie take, without much warning, our little Yorkie, over almost a week stay over holidays. During our time away, Connie was highly communicative with us, provided updates and photos, and very responsive with pick up and drop off times. Our fur bay came home happy, and ready to sleep so that tells me she had a good time. Highly recommended!

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats so caring for pets comes naturally to me. I will provide a comfortable home suitable for your pets. Pet care fits seamlessly into my routine! I work part-time doing deliveries, which gives me the flexibility to create my own schedule — meaning I can easily adapt around your pet’s needs rather than the other way around. 🐾 Whether you need early morning visits, midday check-ins, or evening walks, my availability is largely open and I’m happy to work around what works best for you and your furry family member. Consistency and reliability are really important to me, so once we establish a routine that works, I stick to it! My home is a safe and comfortable place for your pet without any children or other animals. My time is solely dedicated for your loved ones.

Kevin is amazing. We received photos and updates during our pups stay which left us feeling confident of our choice. Our “V”, or “Wild Child”, was treated like family. His home was her home. First time we have travelled and not worried, speaks volumes! Thank you again

Dawson was great with Oreo, allowing him lots of cuddles and lap hugs. Most importantly, Dawson was very accomodatinv with drop off and pickup times; which,as we know when we travel, that schedules can change. I appreciated his kindness.

About: I’ve been petsitting for family and friends for two decades now, and would love the opportunity to help you out as well! I love all pets big and small, with familiarity with dogs, cats, lizards, rodents, and birds! Bonus! I’m a teacher as my day job, so you can trust that I’ve been solidly background checked, fingerprinted, etc, ensuring a safe, trustworthy person around your pets on a predictable schedule. I am a full-time teacher from September to June. This means that my summers are wide open, and you can count on a reliable consistent schedule for your pets during the school year. Since I have my own cats at home, I offer pet-sitting at your home on your schedule. This can range from stop ins for potty breaks to walks every few hours to overnight stays - you tell me and I’m there! We’ll discuss your expectations to make sure that your pets get exactly the care you expect during your time away, and I promise clear and open communication while you trust me to watch over your babies! (If you are looking for boarding, please be aware that I have cats at my home. Any pup coming in MUST be good around cats, for everyone's comfort!)

My puppy is very nervous around new people, which makes it very hard to find someone to watch him. Mélina was amazing with Theo and had the perfect energy to make him (and I) feel comfortable. For the first time Theo wasn’t racing to get home… he was wondering why we were leaving his new friend! We recommend Mélina to anyone who wants their pup to be treated good as gold!

We had such a wonderful experience! Stephanie was incredibly understanding of our dog’s nervous nature and took the time to make him feel comfortable and safe. It was clear he was well cared for and truly felt at home. We felt completely at ease leaving him in her care, which means everything to us. We’re so grateful for the love and attention she gave him and will absolutely be using her services again. Highly recommend!

About: My family started off with small dogs. By the time I was in middle school we were rescue housing huge dogs. I love cats. I might like them more than any other animal. I’ve dealt with puppies to old age dogs. I’m currently in PT school and looking to make extra cash. I’m open to discuss schedules and availability outside of what is listed on my calendar. I can have up to two dogs in my house. I am willing to travel.I do not have a fenced in yard but live next to a big yard area.

Renee was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Indy! This was a last-minute booking, and she was incredibly accommodating and easy to coordinate with, which we really appreciated. Throughout the week, she kept us updated with daily messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear from the updates that Indy was not just being cared for, but truly spoiled and loved. Renee is a warm, friendly, and genuinely caring person, and it shows in the way she looks after animals. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and kind to care for their pet.

We're so happy we found Ashley! Georgie had the time of his life hiking with her (we can tell because he is completely passed out at home now - which is incredibly hard to do with a husky). The picture updates are such a nice bonus as we get to see how happy he is throughout the day. G can't wait to spend some time with Ashley in the near future again! =)

About: I’ve had dogs growing up, one at my moms and one at my dads, I now live alone and would love to help with your little fur babies! I have 4 pets right now two bunnies and two cats. The bunnies get kibble and veggies in the morning. The cats get wet food in the morning and at night. Dry kibble out all day and hay out all day for the bunnies. We clean their cage 1/ week, and the cats litter gets changed every 3 days. I’ve dog sat a few times for the same family and if you have a routine for your pets I’ll gladly follow what your looking for, I also have a routine for mine as well, so whatever works best for you!

About: Animal lover whose grown up with different animals at home. Fish, canaries, parakeets, dogs, and occasionally we had cats. We don't currently have pets at home but regularly pet sit for our family members. I'm a stay at home mom and would like to have more opportunities to help out neighbours and their pets while bringing a bit of income. I can easily crate your dog if needed. I want to make sure your pup feels safe and comfortable in my company when doing drop in visits or walking.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cornwall

Bethany was simply amazing! To say that she went above and beyond doesn’t do justice to our experience. She took such amazing care of our fur baby for a week, keeping us in the loop, and seeing amazing photos and updates to let us know that our little girl was living her best life while we were away. We truly feel that she welcomed our little girl into “her family”, and beyond the photos, updates, and seeing that our baby was so well taken care of… and more than that, we just had great “vibes” from the experience before, during, and after her stay. I cannot highly recommend Bethany to others, and we will certainly be reaching out to her in the future. Thanks so much for everything!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cornwall home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
