About: I have decades of cat and dog experience. Recently, our family dog crossed the rainbow bridge and I am hoping helping others' pets can help fill the void. I raised a dog from puppyhood, fostered a rescue, and have dogsat several family and friends' dogs. For now, I can offer evening, overnight and weekend pet care. My aim is to work from home full-time and so eventually I will be able to do more! All food, toys, walks, crating, etc. will be to your instructions. Safe playing is a great time to get to know each other. I am very much the "mom" when I have to be - dogs usually respond well to my queues, and I am available as a safe place for them. My place is an apartment above a couple shops downtown Elora. There are lots of green area or trails around the neighbourhood. There are three kids here 50% of the time (ages 10-15) who are experienced with pets. There are no other animals here.

About: I’ve grown up with animals of all kinds my whole life, and have a very deep resonance with cats especially. I’ve had one in every house I’ve ever lived. As this was natural to me, I’ve had the opportunity to care for many cats and homes over the years, sometimes for extended stays. So far, there isn’t a cat I haven’t been able to befriend or at least find harmonious ground. I’m very confident in my ability to take care of these wonderful pets. Though I’m specialized in taking care of cats, my care has been extended towards all animals, and so I have a naturally affinity to caring for any pet. This includes both birds and dogs. I’ve always been able to get along with dogs just as much as cats. In the past few years I’ve had even more opportunity to care for them in my home when their owner leaves. This includes feeding, walking, playing, giving affection, and attending to any other instructions. I’ve also assisted in caring for a dog and a home in the past year. This experience has been for both seasoned dogs and puppies, and I love the unique personalities of each. I’m confident in working with small to medium type dogs, though I love the large ones too! “Emma provided house sitting for my dog for a night, and I couldn’t be more pleased. She stopped by ahead of time even though it was a pretty last minute booking to meet my dog and make sure it was a good fit, and allow my dog to familiarize with her. My dog took to her immediately, which isn’t the most common as my dog can be a little standoffish with people the first time. During that time Emma was lovely to chat with, and my dog just wanted to play with her the entire time. Over the evening she watched her, Emma provided photos and videos of how things were going, and updates on behaviour, feedings, and potty breaks. Even went back to turn some lights on for me after I failed to mention that request earlier. Emma also left my home just as she found it, which was very kind. About: I grew up with Moose, our family's Shar-Pei. The breed tends to be wary of strangers, and watching Moose slowly warm up to visitors taught me to let a new dog come to me when they're ready. I've also walked dogs for neighbours and friends, and I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes and energy levels. On walks, my phone stays in my pocket unless I'm taking photos for your update. That way, I spot a dropped chicken bone before your dog does. If your dog tenses up at an oncoming dog, a skateboard, or a goose, I cross the street or head the other way before it turns into barking or lunging. I also adjust each walk to your dog, whether they need a slow stroll with lots of sniffing or a brisk pace to burn off energy. I'll stick to your rules too: the commands you use, how many treats are allowed, and whether the couch is off-limits. I'm on a lighter course load this term, so apart from a few classes, I'm available 7 days a week, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. That means I can walk your dog at the same time every weekday while you're at work, so they know what to expect. I'm also around for last-minute walks when you're running late, and I can usually do a meet & greet within a day or two of hearing from you. I keep my Rover calendar up to date, so if it shows me as available, I am. If my class schedule changes next term, I'll give you plenty of notice. At our meet & greet, I'll learn your dog's routine, how they are with other dogs, what spooks them, and who to call in an emergency, including your vet. On walks, I make sure your dog can't back out of their collar or harness, keep them leashed the whole time, and always pick up after them. They only greet other dogs if you're fine with it and the other dog's owner agrees. On hot days, I test the pavement with the back of my hand to make sure it's safe for paws, bring water, and keep walks short and shaded. When it's bitterly cold or icy, I shorten walks and stick to cleared paths. In your home, I block the doorway when I come and go so your dog can't dart out, and I never bring anyone else inside. On drop-ins and house sits, I keep meals, walks, and bedtime on your dog's usual schedule. When I'm staying over, I never leave them alone longer than we've agreed. Before I leave, I wipe mud or road salt off their paws, refill the water bowl, latch any gates, and lock up. After every visit, you'll get photos and a quick update, including bathroom breaks. If anything seems off, like limping or an upset stomach, I'll let you know right away.

About: I’ve cared for animals my whole life — from raising fish and hamsters to loving guinea pigs, cats, and dogs. Right now, I share my home with my sweet dog named Winnie who is a Miniature German Shepherd and an affectionate cat, named Luna, who I’m completely obsessed with. I love observing animals’ behaviors, understanding their needs, and showering them with the affection they give (and ask for!) in return. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or somewhere in between, I’ll make sure they feel safe, seen, and loved! Im working full time so the first thing I make sure to take care of is to feed my furbabies food and replenish their water dish. Winnie has been waiting all night to use the bathroom so I either send her out or if I have time take her on morning stroll to stretch those tiny legs. I also make sure to clean Luna’s litter no matter how un-used it was over night because of the princess that she constantly reminds me that she is! On my day offs I make sure to spend more time with Winnie outdoors whether that’s going to the dog park, extensive walks or just playing fetch in our neighbourhood! I also give Luna her attention by giving her bum scratches and pats, refilling her cat nip toy, or brushing her which she always enjoys. I will most likely be visiting my clients home mostly because Luna is uneasy around other animals. But following crating instructions, keeping doors closed when necessary, creating a calm and peaceful environment, not leaving garbages or food bags/containers or anything that can put either pet at risk.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a young kid, not only have I owned dogs all my life (border collie, and German shepherd) and have done dog sitting for friends and neighbours as well and understand care and grooming for all different kinds of dogs. I am also confident and more than capable of giving any and all medication. Currently working self employed and there are two of us so double the care for the price of one! Since we are self employed and decently in charge of our schedule it allows us to schedule around what works best for you and your furry friends. Take them on regular walks make sure they have appropriate amounts of food and water, make sure they get any and all medication on time. Make sure they there is nothing potentially harmful to the animal in the home or surroundings We also have a large property for them to explore for at home and am more then willing to stick to any and all guidelines you have for your cute furry friend.
