“Laura and her wonderful family are truly one of a kind! From the moment Cooper stayed with them, I knew he was in the best hands. Laura, her husband, and their two sweet toddlers welcomed him like part of the family and treated him with so much love and care. Cooper came home happy, relaxed, and clearly adored. It’s obvious how much attention and affection they give, and it meant the world to know he was safe, comfortable, and genuinely loved while we were away. I can’t recommend Laura highly enough; she and her family are the absolute sweetest, and we feel so lucky to have found them! 🐾💛”

“This was the first time using Rover. I was a little nervous at first leaving my fur baby with someone I didn't know. Despina and her family are very welcoming and friendly. Despina always kept me in the loop on how Meya was doing by providing lots of photos and updates. Would definitely rebook with Despina and would highly recommend others with her service. Meya had so much fun that when we got home she was happy and exhausted with all the love she received from Despina and her family.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 12 years old and grew up surrounded by dogs my entire life. Over the years, I’ve also cared for a chameleon, hamster, and ferret, which gave me experience with a wide range of pet needs and personalities. I adopted my dog Maia 3 years ago, and she’s full of energy with a big personality, which has taught me a lot about active dogs, structure, and keeping playtime both fun and safe. I also adopted my cat when I was 20. She was very feisty, and no one else wanted to handle her, but I built a strong bond with her over time. We also went through a lot together, including managing her diabetes, so I’m very comfortable and experienced with giving medication and administering insulin injections when needed. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I always aim to provide calm, attentive, and loving care so every animal feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away❤️ Pet care is already a natural part of my daily life. I'm currently working remote so my schedule is fairly flexible. I’m also experienced with more specific care, including administering medication and injections when needed, so I’m comfortable adjusting routines based on each pet’s requirements. Overall, I’m very organized and flexible, and I genuinely enjoy having animals as part of my everyday routine rather than it feeling like an extra task. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family and kept in a calm, safe, and structured environment. I have a fenced-in backyard where dogs can run, play, and get energy out safely, along with regular walks and supervised outdoor time. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise needs, and any special care instructions. In a client’s home, I respect their space and make sure pets feel secure in their familiar environment.
“Caroline was amazing with Abby! She took such great care of her, brought her to the dog park, played fetch, and kept us updated throughout the day, which gave us real peace of mind. It was clear that Abby had a wonderful time and was very well looked after. We would absolutely love to use Caroline again in the future and would highly recommend her to other dog parents.”

About: I have been taking care of animals of all shapes, sizes, breeds, and species as long as I can remember. I am very cognizant of all the animals in my care and find I can read their cues like a book. I am learning dog training and have worked hard with my dog on his skills. I am no stranger to giving pups medication as well, let me know what your pups needs and I can take care of them as if they were my own! I am currently a stay-at-home mom of 1, so I have lots of time and love to give your furry family. We are quite flexible so let us know your needs for care and we will be happy to oblige! We have a large fenced backyard, the dog beach nearby and 2 dog parks not far from our house. We have 1 dog and 3 cats in the home so we are very familiar with accommodating different personalities and their needs! We can crate pups if they need some space or we have a deck that they can lay on to get some sun.
“We found Marc and Alysia here at Rovers. It's our first time to book from here, and our first time to leave Coco with Marc and family. They were such sweethearts to Coco, they treated Coco as part of their family and gave him lots of love and care. They even took Coco out for a walk and played with him. They were very accommodating with my schedule and was very patient with Coco. They gave frequent updates through photo and text as well, making me feel super assured to leave coco with them.We highly recommend them if you plan to leave your furbabies with them. Thank you, Marc and Aylsia, for taking care of Coco !!”

Alexis was amazing with our 11 week old puppy who I know is a handful. She took him for several walks to a point he sleeps like a baby once we got home. She provided updates and was flexible in time for drop off. She was beyond what I could ask for. Super happy with the service and will be using her in the future for sure! Thank you!!!!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Angus commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
