“Merri Anne was wonderful with Nola. We knew when we tried to give her Nola’s bed and she asked if it was ok for Nola to sleep with her that Nola would be in good hands. We would use her again. -Elizabeth”

“We were very happy to have Renae watch our pup and love on him. We really relaxed on our vacation knowing that Buddy was in good hands. We will definitely have Renae watch our Buddy in the future.”

“Nathan was very responsive to our questions and sent us pics of our dog enjoying his stay and getting lots of exercise. We had some friends drop our dog off and we heard that he was greeted warmly and given lots of attention on arrival. Exactly the sort of welcome you hope for when you trust your pet to someone else's care.”

“Chloe had a blast at the farm while we were vacationing. We loved that she was treated like family, loved, and had so much room to move around. We received updates and pictures even though Chloe does not stay still for long. Chloe came home better behaved than when we dropped her off. She definitely learned from her time at the farm and the care she recieved was nothing less than the best! Thanks, Nicole, for loving our pup while we were gone. You and the farm have become our go to stay for Chloe!!! We will be back in October!!!!”

“Adam was super responsive to a last minute request for an overnight sitting. He was very communicative, and we felt at ease leaving Cooper with him. I appreciated the pictures and video very much! We would definitely use Adam again.”

“Amanda was amazing! We booked with her for a short trip to Yakima and felt very comfortable leaving our puppy with her. Her pups were great, and we loved getting an update during the weekend.”

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was 12, it started with my sister's dog and I've slowly expanded to neighbors and friends loving pets! Im good with knowing their body language so I know how to react appropriately. Im used to long walks with dogs. I make sure the dog is happy. Im a part time photographer so I'm almost always home! I do school online so I won't be gone during the day. I have time for 2-3 walks a day, lots of play time. I have a fenced yard to let them out if it's an emergency or if they just want to run. I take dogs on 2-3 walks a day depending on what the dog wants. I let dogs sleep with me in my bed, I love cuddling on the couch as well. I love playing tug of war. If the dog gets messy while at my house I will give them a bath. If brushing is part of their routine I will gladly do that! I love playing with pets! They will have all my attention unless they want to be left alone.
About: I love my little doggie and I’ll love on yours like they’re mine! I can snuggle with your dog if that’s their thing, or take them on walks around my neighborhood! I have some experience with special needs as my first rescue doggie was one-eyed and then had to have his remaining eye removed due to glaucoma and cataracts. I have experience doing eye drops and pet meds, as well as accommodating dogs with limited vision. I’m happy to send regular updates and photos as I know I love those updates when I’m away. Dogs are family and I’ll take great care of yours! Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions. I’m currently working part time, so I will have flexibility in caring for your dog and can talk with you to learn more about your dog’s typical schedule. I have a backyard that works well for small dogs and I am happy to do walks if that’s what your dog needs! I do have two kids who are great and very gentle with our special needs dog.
“Highly Recommend! Our dog had the best time at Carol and Brian's house this weekend! They sent us lots of photos of our happy smiling dog. I selected Carol and Brian because I was unsure about how our girl would respond to being without us for the firsttime. It was clear from reviews that Carol and Brian know how to deal with a wide range of doggy behaviors-- and seeing them in action was awesome. They gave us some training tips that we can use on our own. They have a warm and welcoming home in which our dog could be her best self. Thank you Carol and Brian!”

“Tiffany took great care of my fur babies. She is caring and sent pictures with updates, which is always giving me a peace of mind. She was able to take them on a longer walk, which I know my dogs love the most.”

“Poor David! And poor Ziggy! Our pup got sick over the weekend. (Not the fault of the family; he only ate what we sent.) We were kept informed how he was doing and were able to head home a little early. It's a holiday or we'd be at the vet right now. P.S. Thirty percent is the maximum Rover tip even for above and beyond service!”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life. I absolutely love animals especially dogs. I’ve trained all my personal dogs with basic commands. Let’s talk I’m currently retired and spend all day at home in the house and in my yard. My dogs go outside every hour for potty and play every hour unless I’m gone. I take my girls out first thing in the morning I walk out behind garage near orchard to let them go potty. They eat and then play and go back outside with me only as I don’t have fenced yard and want to be sure they go out back. They are placed in crate when I am not home for their safety and typically sleep there during the night or in bed with me. They go outside every hour to potty and run.
“Andrew and Katie were great with our 2 pups! It was our first time with them and we will be using them again! They provided photos and updates throughout the day and took great care of them.”

Every sitter has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.
Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.
If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Athena home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Athena.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Athena sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
