I warned her about his nature and made sure to ask if she was comfortable checking in on him during my vacation. Come to find out, she has a kitty with some of the same personality traits so she's familiar with handling him. While I was gone, she sent lots of pictures brushing and playing with him. I know he was happy to have her come to see him. She gave updates daily on her interactions with him. I was so grateful to have had her come look in on my babies.”

About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I grew up caring for a house full of pets—including a cat, parakeets, fish, and even a couple of snapping turtles—and have loved both cats and dogs throughout my life. As an adult, I was lucky enough to spend 11 years with our beloved German Shepherd mix, Evie. We completed obedience training together, and I have plenty of hands-on experience with daily walks, feeding, routines, training reinforcement, playtime, and all the everyday care that comes with sharing your life with a dog. As Evie got older, I also gained experience caring for a senior dog through arthritis and, eventually, a period of significant illness. Her needs changed considerably during her final months, so I’m comfortable administering oral medications, keeping an eye on changes in appetite or behavior, adapting routines for an older or less-active dog, and understanding when something just doesn’t seem quite right. I’ve also cared for pets for neighbors and understand how important it is to have someone you trust looking after your pet while you’re away. Since losing Evie in 2022, we haven’t been ready to bring another pet into our family, so I’d genuinely love the opportunity to spend some time caring for yours. I’m dependable, attentive, patient, and—most importantly—I truly enjoy being around animals. I’m self-employed and set my own schedule, which gives me plenty of flexibility to work pet care into my day. I’ve watch over Schnauzers, Australia Shepherds, French Bulldogs, Shiba Inu, Doberman and many mixes.. Needless to say I’m willing to watch any dog! I can also say there has never been any accidents that have occurred to a dog under my watch. I do not like having animals caged up for long so they will be free to roam when under my supervision. Furthermore, I love the outdoors so the doggos will have a nice pleasant walk with me visiting all the nearby parks when able. Although during the week I will be out for 8-9 hours I do live close enough that I can drive to my apartment and give the dogs a potty break during my lunch break. I also have cameras at home so I will still be keeping an eye on them while I'm out! I am quite active so the dogs will always get plenty of exercise. If they can keep up that is. If you know your dog cannot be left alone without causing chaos I would appreciate if you bring their crate. **Please give me at least 1 week in advance for appointments. Although my schedule is often up to date. I too take vacations and have to go out of town on emergencies. Last minute request will be considered but likeliness is low. I am a true animal lover so I will put the pets wellbeing first. I do not plan on leaving animals in a crate for longer than a couple hours if necessary. I am an active person so long walks will be something the dogs will get. Unless they cannot keep up. I really like playing rope and catch with dogs so they will get plenty of play time. =)
