At Rover, we’re constantly looking for ways to better serve pets and their parents – and today we’re excited to announce our exclusive partnership with Petco! Petco has become an investor in Rover, and we have agreed to an exclusive partnership to extend Rover’s services to their pet community.
“Like us, Petco sees pets as individuals, and that a one-size fits all approach to animals’ needs simply does not match a pet’s modern role as a family member,” said Aaron Easterly, CEO of Rover. “We both strive to provide the best for pets and pet parents, and as the industry continues to grow, we’re excited to see how our partnership with one another will continue to bring the best in pet care to pet families across the country.”
Consumers will see Rover promotions across Petco’s lines of business, which includes nearly 1,300 Petco stores, more than 50 Unleashed by Petco neighborhood stores, and e-commerce business at www.petco.com. Additionally, Ted Root, Vice President of Business Development at Petco, will join the Rover board of directors.
“Petco understands the special bonds between pet parents and their pets. With nearly two-thirds of households having pets, we want to provide the highest quality products, services and solutions to our pet parent customers,” Root said. “Rover is an exciting service platform, which enables pet owners to match their daycare/boarding needs with a passionate community of pet sitters, that we believe will continue grow. This relationship allows us expand our services for pets and pet parents as we help fulfill Petco’s vision for Healthier pets. Happier people. Better world.”
We also love that Petco shares our value of giving back to shelters and other animal welfare programs. Since 1999 Petco has raised over $110 million through The Petco Foundation to help promote and improve the welfare of companion animals. In addition, they continuously support local animal shelters with their in-store adoption events, helping find homes for more than 350,000 animals every year. Since Rover’s founding, we have established our Sit-a-Dog, Save-a-Life program, which raises money to support companion animal programs and animal shelters, saving the lives of dogs everywhere. Rover will also be participating in their 5K9 Walk Run’s across the country.
We truly believe that the combination of Petco and Rover cannot be matched and are excited about the new opportunities this partnership will bring to better serve the dogs and dog lovers in the Rover community!
