“Charlene was great! She has a nice fenced backyard and cared for my dog like her own. She sent regular updates and photos during my time away. I will definitely consider using Charlene again for my dog boarding needs.”

“Brandi was great with Banjo! It's difficult for both of us when I need to leave him for this long, but Brandi did a great job of making sure he felt safe and loved while I was gone.”

“Willis was great with our dog, he updated us frequently with pictures and made sure our little guy was comfortable and safe. Winter seemed to have a great time there, and warmed up to Willis and his home quickly. Would definitely recommend and book again!”

“Thank you Pat for being such a great pet sitter for Chance. Pat shared pictures daily and messaged me about how he was doing. She took him for walks multiple times that he absolutely loves. Since he is a senior, I have a strict diet schedule for him and she was so good about following it. Chance seemed so happy with her. I’m looking forward to having Chance stay with Pat again when I have to be out of town soon.”

“Stephanie watched our pup on fairly short notice. She was very flexible and relaxed with her. We picked up our dog about 48 hours later, happy and healthy. We would definitely call Stephanie if we are back in the area again.”
“I am so happy to have found an awesome place for my pup to stay when we are out of town! I felt totally comfortable that she was in good hands, safe and happy. Kayla sent me lots of pics and videos of my dog making herself right at home. I'd definitely use Kayla again!”

“Brenda is so good with my puppy scout. She always gives him personal attention and make sure that he is safe and comfortable when I am away. I will continue to have scout stay with her when I am gone for this reason.”

“She kept us updated on Iris all weekend and was super flexible with a last minute reservation. We could tell from the pictures Iris was getting all the love and attention she wanted while with her!”

We've recently renovated our attached brick garage into a dedicated boarding space designed to provide a safe, comfortable, low-stress environment for your pets. Unlike many boarding facilities, we only board one family's pets at a time. Whether you have one dog, multiple dogs, dogs and cats together or just cats, your family will be our only boarding guests during their stay! This allows us to provide more individualized care while reducing stress and eliminating interactions with unfamiliar animals. Each guest has access to a spacious 8' x 6' x 4' kennel, but they're not required to stay inside it. The kennel can remain open, giving them the option to relax in their own secure space or enjoy the larger boarding area. Comfortable bedding, including a traditional dog bed and raised cooling cot, is provided! Someone is almost always home, and we work remotely, allowing for frequent interaction, supervision, and additional attention for pets who need it. Security cameras are also in place throughout the boarding area and outside our home for added safety and peace of mind! We provide treats, enrichment, and natural chews (with owner approval) and do our best to follow your pet's normal routine. Whether they have a specific feeding schedule, medication schedule, bedtime routine, or exercise preferences, we'll work to keep things as familiar as possible! Dogs have access to a fenced outdoor exercise area and can enjoy leashed walks around our property, including our creek area. Our typical boarding routine runs from approximately 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, though we're happy to accommodate reasonable adjustments whenever possible! We do have our own dogs and cats at home. All of our pets are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and well cared for. For everyone's safety, boarding guests will not interact with our personal pets, though they may occasionally hear our dogs barking from elsewhere on the property. 🐱 Cat Boarding Available! Cats are welcome too! Whether your cat is social, shy, senior, or requires medication, we'll provide a quiet, secure environment tailored to their needs while maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible! If we don't have fosters at the time, your kitties are welcome to stay in the home as well! Either in their own room, or if they're friendly with other animals, they're welcome to explore the whole house! We both work from home, so our days naturally revolve around the animals we care for; ours and yours! That means we’re super flexible with visits throughout the day, whether it’s a quick morning potty break, midday meds, or evening playtime. Caring for animals is already part of our daily life. We foster and volunteer locally, so working around feeding schedules, quirky behaviors, and special routines is second nature. You can count on us to show up on time and treat your pets like they’re part of the family! Weekend availability included... just reach out and let’s chat about what you need! 📅 We kindly ask for 3 days' notice for all bookings and cancellations so we can plan our calendar and make sure we’re giving every pet the time and care they deserve 💛 When we’re in your home, we treat it with the same care and respect we’d want for our own! We always follow your instructions to the T; whether that’s feed times, locked doors or quirky pet routine... We will always keep your space clean, calm, and secure before we leave! We’re happy to work with homes that use security systems or indoor cameras, and we’ll always communicate clearly about access (keys, codes, etc.) so everyone feels comfortable! After each visit, you’ll get a photo or two and a quick update so you’re never left wondering how things went!! If your pets have any medical needs, special diets, triggers, or unique behaviors, we’ll ask about those ahead of time so we can handle everything confidently! We’ve worked with nervous pets, escape artists, and even semi-ferals... so nothing surprises us! We know how much trust it takes to let someone into your home and into your pet’s routine, and we don’t take that lightly! ❤️
“I read so many reviews before I chose Christy to take care of my 10 week old puppy. I was so nervous to leave him with just anyone especially given that he’s a work in progress being potty trained. I wanted to be sure I found someone with the experience to care and love on my pup while I was away. Christy did not disappoint! I got so many updates and pictures while she was caring for him. I highly recommend her and would definitely choose her to keep my fur baby again!”

“Very nice and understanding! I had my flight cancelled and Josie was very sweet about it and was willing to watch the dogs even longer then expected. Will be booking her again for my next trip. The dogs had a lot of fun and clearly were well taken care of.”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats my entire life, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I have hands-on experience with daily feeding, walks, playtime, and lots of love and attention. I’ve also regularly cared for friends’ and family members’ pets while they’re out of town, making sure their pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for in their own routine. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize their happiness and well-being. As a teacher, my schedule allows me to be home in the evenings and on weekends, giving me plenty of time to provide attentive and consistent pet care. I’m able to stick closely to feeding schedules, playtime, walks, and any special routines your pet needs. Because my time outside of school is flexible and dependable, I can give your pet the care, attention, and companionship they deserve. I provide loving, hands-on care tailored to each pet’s needs. At home, I have two cats and a dog, so I’m very familiar with balancing playtime, exercise, and daily routines. I make sure my pets get plenty of attention and enrichment through play, and I walk my dog multiple times a day to keep him happy and healthy. I bring the same level of care, patience, and dedication to every pet I look after, treating them as if they were my own.
About: I’m a professional dog trainer and boarding provider with lifelong experience working with dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds—from puppies to large working dogs. My training background allows me to provide individualized, structured care, especially for dogs with anxiety, reactivity, separation anxiety, or other behavioral challenges. My goal is always to keep your dog’s stay calm, safe, and comfortable while you’re away. I have experience caring for pregnant dogs and newborn puppies, and my rescue work has given me valuable experience working with senior dogs and dogs with special needs. Dogs with more serious behavioral concerns may require a pre-boarding evaluation to ensure the best experience for everyone. Training sessions or private consultations can be added during your dog’s stay. Your dog will be understood, respected, and cared for like family. I provide full-time dog training and boarding, including weekends. I tailor care to each dog’s needs—whether it’s obedience, behavior support, socialization, or senior dog care. Since this is a home-based business, your fur babies become part of my daily life—spending time with me like family—while still enjoying a structured schedule.
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life and currently have four large dogs – three of my own and one foster. I also volunteer with local animal rescues and spend many Fridays at the Dog Pound, giving all the animals love, walks, vaccinations, and sometimes even a trip to my home (I’m always joking that I’m one dog away from a divorce – but he knew what he was getting into!) Joining the Rover community lets me share my passion for caring with other pet owners. I know how hard it can be to leave your furry family members, and I’m here to provide them with the love and attention they deserve. I’ll make sure they’re happy, well cared for, and keep you updated with plenty of pictures to give you peace of mind! I’m currently staying home with my babies so I will have plenty of time to love yours! Don’t be afraid to ask about my schedule! I have a full fenced in yard. Two of my dogs are inside. One roams freely during the day with a doggy door to the outside fenced in yard. One is kenneled during the day. Both are kenneled at night. One is outside full time (unless it’s freezing cold and I have to force him inside). I also have one large kennel outside where my foster dog stays most of the time. All dogs are up to date on vaccines and receive monthly flea tick and heart guard meds. As for your home, I’m up for a meet and greet depending on what you need!

“Patti has taken care of our two fur babies twice now and we are very happy with her services. Our boys seem to really like Patti and they seem to enjoy their visits. From the pictures Patti sent us while watching our boys, the yard and patio seem perfect for small dogs without the worry of their escape. Believe me our Yorkie is an escape artist and staying with Patti we have no worries. We look forward to our next trip and booking our boy’s stay with Patti. Lynn & Denny Harley & Matey”

“Professional, responsive, and prompt. Made sure our cats had their needs met, including one who gets an injectable medication and the other who gets an oral medication. Cleaned unexpected messes, too! Devin and Alexis, thank you for taking care of our buddies!”

“Shelby was so awesome with our cat Shiloh! She is a great communicator and easy to get a hold of when you need her. She was great at providing updates on how our kitty was doing while we were away!”

“We had such a great experience with Destiny and Ben as our house and cat sitters through Rover! They were incredibly kind, thorough, and clearly have a genuine love for animals. They sent thoughtful updates while we were away, which made such a difference and gave us so much peace of mind. It’s not easy leaving your home and pets, but they made us feel completely comfortable knowing everything was in such good hands. We came home to happy, well-cared-for cats and a house just as we left it. We would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, caring sitters!”

About: I have been a pet owner for over 20 years. When I was in college I became the go to pet sitter to watch my friends and family pets for years. Because I am a bit of a stronger person, my friends know that I can handle some of their bigger dogs tugging on the leash. Also, with my beard, dogs think I am one of them. I am currently a remote worker and I can take as much time as I need to take care, play, walk, feed or whatever the client needs. Because I am a big lug myself, I allow pets to have fun and be happy loving animals. I give off alpha dog energy and dogs will understand the deep serious tone in my voice, but will also respect me after I give them lots of love and treats.

“Kristan was a wonderful pet sitter! She was very attentive to my cats during her drop in visits - she made sure they were taken care of and also played with them! She sent daily pictures and updates of how they were doing and communicated with me frequently as needed. My pets took to her immediately and she was great with them, even my shy cat loved her! Definitely would recommend her services and will be using her again for future pet sitting needs!”

About: I specialize in cats and understand that many cats are far more comfortable staying in their own home while their owners are away. I’ve cared for and managed a colony of 22 cats since 2024, including coordinating TNR (trap-neuter-return), socialization, medical observation, and placement of 19 kittens into homes. Through this experience, I’ve become very knowledgeable about feline behavior, feeding routines, litter maintenance, health monitoring, and working with shy, anxious, independent, or timid cats. I respect each cat’s individual comfort level and temperament and do not force interaction. My goal is to provide calm, reliable care that helps your cats feel safe and comfortable while you are away.
About: I provide dependable, personalized care that’s tailored to each dog’s personality, routine, and comfort level. You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and honest check-ins so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to make your time away easier for both you and your dog by creating a caring, reliable, and attentive experience from start to finish. I am currently out of school for the summer. I enjoy being active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets is something I genuinely look forward to rather than squeezing in between other responsibilities. I also build flexibility into my week to accommodate different energy levels and care needs whether that means extra walks or sticking closely to a medication or feeding schedule. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, crate routines, and any house rules the pet is already used to.

I can honestly say that animals feel safe around me which I attribute to them sensing my love for animals. I have a German Shepherd of my own that my family and I rescued. We also have a GSP and our little sweetheart cat Vivie. Animals bring me joy to see them happy and healthy. I am available between the hours of 1 PM midnight Monday and Friday, I am also available all day on weekends. Those hours are adjustable if needed. I prefer taking care of your pets in your home since I have two dogs and a cat at my house. I would not want your pet to feel uncomfortable. And a lot of pets prefer their own home where they feel safe and are used to their routine
“Moxie loved her daily visit and walk with Sophie. She has a love of animals that shines through. She was great with updates and sending daily pictures. I would recommend and have her care for my Moxie girl again.”

About: 🐾 Pet Care Experience 🐾 I treat every pet like family, with loving, reliable care tailored to their needs. I’ve cared for animals of all ages and temperaments and provide a safe, structured, and calm environment. I have one dog, and my mom has another who stays in her room except to go outside. Rover dogs are always kept separate from our personal pets. My young grandchild (under 5) lives in the home, so visiting pets should be comfortable around children. We have a secure fenced yard, pet-friendly spaces, and plenty of attention to give. Whether your pet needs playtime, snuggles, or just a comfy place to stay—I’ve got them covered. ❤️ Pet care fits perfectly into my routine. I’m home and available throughout the day, so your pet will get plenty of attention, outdoor time, and companionship. I work evenings delivering luggage for the airport, but I’m typically only gone for a few hours after 9:30 PM. During the day, I’m fully available for walks, drop-ins, day care, and boarding supervision. My home has a secure fenced yard for easy potty breaks and safe play, and I only have one dog of my own—who stays separate from Rover pets. I also have a young grandchild in the home, so I maintain a structured, safety-focused environment. Your pet will be in good hands, with care that’s consistent, personalized, and reliable. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I maintain a calm, structured environment with clear boundaries and lots of love. Pets in my care have their own designated space and are always supervised during play, feeding, and downtime. I have one dog of my own, and my mother has another who stays in her room except to go outside. Rover pets are always kept separate from our personal dogs to reduce stress and ensure a smooth, safe stay. There’s a securely fenced yard for outdoor time, and the indoor space is pet-friendly, clean, and cozy. My young grandchild (under 5) lives in the home, so pets should be comfortable around children—but rest assured, interactions are always closely monitored for safety. I take the responsibility of caring for your pet seriously. You can trust that they’ll be loved, well-cared for, and treated like one of the family—because that’s what they deserve. ❤️

About: 🏡 NEW: Personalized Boarding Available! (See Details At The End!!) We got into pet care together because helping animals has always been a shared passion; it’s something that brought us closer and now it’s something we get to do side by side while helping our community 🥹 We currently foster for the Kanawha Charleston Shelter and another local rescue, help with TNR in our area, rehome strays, and love to spoil our own little crew of rescues! Over the years, we’ve cared for dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, reptiles, rabbits, rats, and even birds! We’re especially comfortable with pets who need a little extra patience, like shy rescues, semi-ferals, and senior animals! 🐕🦺 We have hands-on experience with: • Medications (oral, topical, injectable like insulin) • Anxious or reactive behavior • Special diets and tricky routines • Post-op and long-term medical needs • Livestock Friends! We're also active in the rescue world currently supporting fundraising, marketing, and networking for Krazie Ladies Animal Rescue, and jumping in when people in our community need help with lost pets or urgent rehoming! This isn’t just a side gig for us... it’s something we truly love doing together! If you’d like to see more of the happy pets we’ve cared for (and a peek at us in action), check out our Facebook page: Almost Heaven Critter Care WV 🐾 We’d be happy to help you and your pets have a stress-free, love-filled, judgement-free experience while you’re away! 🏡 NEW: Personalized Boarding Available!
