He’s five-years old and had never been away from home - I am sure it was challenging for him. While not aggressive or disobedient, at about 120lbs he can be intimidating. Ellen was clearly very comfortable with him during our meet and greet visit and was very confident he’d be fine with her. He absolute was! She made him very at home on her beautiful farmette with her pack of critters. They all looked clean and loved. I noted her calmness with the dogs and confidence in their interaction under her watchful eye. The dogs have plenty of space to run and socialize. She made sure we gave her his “regular” food and medications, and verified other foods he would be allowed to have. She sent regular updates and photos during his stay. Each action shot was accompanied by a thoughtful narrative of the photo. We really enjoyed pictures of his quiet time, napping with the other dogs in her home was comforting. They all looked content. We needed an extra day of boarding because of the unpredictability of our travel and Ellen made it so easy. Our dog made new friends and we did too.”

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is truly second nature to me. About: My husband and I have been around dogs our entire life, small to large breed, we love dogs! Our little one absolutely loves having them around, being outside, throwing ball, treats, etc. So, your pet would need to be great with kids :) We live in the beautiful Whittier neighborhood with plenty of walking options. Our backyard is enclosed with a high eight foot fence. So, your pet would be plenty comfortable. Or, if you're away, I could come to your pet for their time outdoors. I have a small SUV, so transportation is always an option! We're comfortable letting your pet roam the house while we're here and away. We would only take on more than one dog after talking to the owner of our current stay, and the dogs are compatible, or they come from the same home! With that said, we do not have any four legged pets of our own.... only tanked ones ;) three amano shrimp, two tetras, and two narite snails! So, your pet will have the luxury of our undivided attention! When your pet would come to stay with us, we do ask for as much info/'their 'stuff' as you can bring/provide regarding your pets normal/routine at their home, commands, tricks, toys, food, bedding... etc so your pet is comfortable and enjoys their time here, and so we can keep them in as much of a similar framework as their home. The Rover site allows for pics and videos. So, we like to take a few during their stay and send them to owners! Our current stay and past stays have really enjoyed this! Prior to you or us making a decision on your pets stay, we would like for you all and your pet to visit our home. With dogs, I’m very patient and comfortable with all personalities, including high-energy, excitable, or anxious dogs. I focus on calm and respectful handling and try to help very anxious dogs feel safe by giving them space, approaching slowly, and using gentle reassurance like calm voice and light petting on their side when appropriate. I pay attention to body language and always aim to build trust rather than pressure them into an interaction. If a dog is acting out, I redirect their attention and follow any training or behavior instructions provided by the owner. With cats, I’m used to reading their behavior and giving them the space or attention they want. I understand that many cats are super independent and are protective about their space, but I also enjoy working with affectionate, social cats. I have experience caring for kittens, including feeding and basic hands-on care, as well as senior cats who may need routine medication or any extra attention.

About: I am very active and an outdoors person. My yard is fenced so I can play outside with the babies unleashed. I go for runs and would take the dogs with for exercise. I have had dogs all of my life and have taken care of them. I work 5 minutes from my home so the dogs will never be alone all day. My availability is pretty much open. I will cater to the dogs every need and show it nothing but love. My house is very pet friendly so animals are allowed on the furniture. I enjoy dogs of all sizes and ages. “Boarding with Ellen was outstanding. We had a family emergency that made taking our large dog with us impossible. He’s five-years old and had never been away from home - I am sure it was challenging for him. While not aggressive or disobedient, at about 120lbs he can be intimidating. Ellen was clearly very comfortable with him during our meet and greet visit and was very confident he’d be fine with her. He absolute was! She made him very at home on her beautiful farmette with her pack of critters. They all looked clean and loved. I noted her calmness with the dogs and confidence in their interaction under her watchful eye. The dogs have plenty of space to run and socialize. She made sure we gave her his “regular” food and medications, and verified other foods he would be allowed to have. She sent regular updates and photos during his stay. Each action shot was accompanied by a thoughtful narrative of the photo. We really enjoyed pictures of his quiet time, napping with the other dogs in her home was comforting. They all looked content. We needed an extra day of boarding because of the unpredictability of our travel and Ellen made it so easy. Our dog made new friends and we did too.”
