“Please read! I will be there first to admit I was skeptical of using Rover. I carefully scanned through profiles of those willing to watch the two dogs we have, a Great Dane and a boxer. Cilyr was so much more than we could have asked for! She and I agreed having a meet and greet prior was a great choice to make sure the dogs would have an easier transition. Cilyr went to every length to ensure she had asked questions we may not have thought of: do the dogs have allergies? Require specific routines? But I was really blown away when she brought to my attention that she does not have a truck large enough for our Great Dane in the event he would need to get to a vet emergently however, she has already arranged with a friend and neighbor that she could borrow theirs should an emergency arise. I knew at that moment She was that absolutely perfect choice to watch our dogs. This was not just a” side gig” for her, she genuinely cares so much for animals and helping others! When I brought the boys back for their week long stay they took about a day and a half to fully adjust. I know this because Cilyr went above and beyond to make sure I knew the boys were doing well and sent pictures! It was so heartwarming to get those little messages and pictures and know our boys were in great hands. Through those pictures you could see our dogs easing into their day and feeling safe and loved. Before we had even returned from our vacation we had discussed that we will hands down take our dogs back to her any time we need to leave them. About: I have over 30 years experience training dogs. I am able to dog sit from my home full time. I recently moved to a large property in the country, that is a short 35 minute drive from Madisons west side. I have a acer that is completely fenced in and I am more than happy to offer pick up and drop off to the west side of Madison. I'm professional trained as a dog groomer, worked professionally for over 6 years as a groomer, dog trainer and doggie daycare provider. I have also worked as a vet assistant for 2 years in Denver Colorado. I am certified in humane and dog CPR and I graduated with an EMS degree for humans, this training helps me respond to variety of situations with confidence. I was a volunteer at two different Humane Society's for over 12 years. I have fostered, rehabilitated and Rehoused 15 dogs most with serious behavioral issues. About: Hello pet parents! This is Avery and you are probably here to find someone who will take care of your pet(s) just like you would. I am your person! I have grown up with dogs my entire life ranging from miniature dachshunds to saint bernards! I have experience from watching family and friends pets to taking special care of my two puppers. I have also volunteered a great deal of time at my former city’s local humane society walking and playing with all different breeds of dogs. I know how stressful it can be finding someone to care for pets during the busy days, so I would love to help others not have to worry so much because I’ve been there! I have two doggos of my own, Lola and Arthur. I’ve had Lola since I was 15 and she went through my college years and now into adulthood and Arthur later joined us. Joseph (Jay) is my partner who also shares our Rover account due to living in the same household. He joined because the account too because if we have people’s pets over, we want them to be comfortable with both of us! Or if you have two dogs that need care we can both come over and give them individual attention, depending on your preferences. About: I’ve grown up in a household that has always had at least two dogs, usually 3. We also have 3 indoor-outdoor cats. I am now a student at UW Madison, and I have a 5yr old heeler shepherd mix. Throughout her life I have trained her for obedience and herding, and have dealt with low confidence and reactivity with her daily. I am experienced with dogs who are shy and tend to be reactive. I am studying for a Food Science PhD at UW Madison, so I’m able to take whatever requests work outside of my classes! Most weekends are free, and I update my calendar regularly to reflect class and exam schedules. I have experience training dogs and love hanging out with any breed of dog. “We had such a wonderful boarding experience with Martha and Ryan, they were so kind and knowledgeable! Drop off was a breeze and Martha knew all of Joey’s care instructions already and went over the plan to get him comfortable and settled with me. It was also one of those extremely hot summer weekends and they put thoughtful consideration into how they would manage his time outside. I got some cute pics and updates and pick up was easy too. Even though it was only for one night, I could tell Joey was so well cared for and we would absolutely book with them again!”
