“Laura was great and our dog had a wonderful, active weekend with her. Laura was flexible with drop off times, sent pictures and updates and was very responsive throughout the booking process up through the stay. We will definitely use her again if we ever find ourselves in Hood River!”

About: I am comfortable with all animal types and caring for their special needs. I’ve worked on a ranch so i’m fond with it all. I have experience with senior animals that need extra help, and have recently cared for puppies 1 and under. Pet care fits into my daily routine by waking up and it being the only thing on my mind. I feed my dogs then take them on a long walk to get their energy out. I play with my dogs at least 5 times a day, ending it with their special food and another walk to the park. I care for pets in my clients home the same way I would my own, with love, care, and respect. I treat the animals I care for like they’re the only thing that matters!
“Charlie K. was an excellent pet sitter, trainer and caregiver to our dog, Gus! Gus is a super sensitive dog, due to early abuse before we adopted him at age 16 months. So we we were very particular about his care while we were away and Charlie was a perfect fit for Gus's needs. Charlie took him on fantastic hikes and walks everyday with his dog pack. He encouraged him to be a part of his highly trained and playful group of canine pets and exposed Gus to new adventures and behavioral expectations. He got to sleep in comfort and warmth surrounded by his dog friends in Charlie's home. We received at least two pictures and videos of Gus each day with a brief report, each day Gus was in his care and that was really reassuring. It was a great experience for Gus and we highly recommend him to other dog owners! We would definitely seek Charlie's expertise caregiving for Gus in the future.”

“Cory is wonderful!! Our dog is pretty nervous and hasn't been watched by many different people, she did an excellent job of asking the right questions and setting them up for success. They had a blast! Highly recommend Cory!”

“Emily was so great!! She watched our golden retriever who has a lot of energy and my dog was so tired and happy when I picked her up. Her dogs are so sweet and had so much fun with my dog, and I felt like Emily was really caring and understanding of some diet needs she has. I’ll definitely board with her again!”

“When I flew to Michigan for the holidays, Roseann was the only person I trusted my dog, Cash, with for the week. I drove 2 hours out of my way from the airport so that Cash could spend the week week with her and he came back happy as always. Thanks again Roseann!”

When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all instructions carefully, including administering basic medications if needed. My goal is always to make pets feel comfortable, secure, and loved while giving owners peace of mind.

“Emmillie was absolutely amazing with our dog, Kaido. You could tell by his demeanor that he was treated well. He was happy when I picked him up and it seemed he had made himself right at home! He doesn't always warm up to people so the fact that he was so comfortable with Emmillie in the 1 night he stayed, means a ton!”

“Thanks Makenzie! We felt great about leaving Koda with you and were happy with the entire experience. We don't often need boarding for one of our pets but when the need again arises you will be the first person we contact. Todd & España Coles”

“This was our pups first overnight away from his family. Katlyn was a great caregiver to our Ember and even sent us some pictures while we were away. It was also an added bonus that she had a playmate there which was Katlyns dog Luca. I think that helped her feel more at ease and comfortable. A great place to have our dog and will absolutely have her stay there again.”

She took great care of Harlie, took her for walks and made sure she had plenty of food and water. She is absolutely great with dogs and definitely use her again in the future!”

“Sydney was awesome - she cared for my horses, goat, and kitties with kindness and respect. She executed a complicated feeding and care plan and for that I am grateful. She communicated easily and had everything under control. I recommend Sydney to anyone with animals - they can entrust them and their home to Sydney and have a stress free getaway. Thank you, Sydney!”

The kits seemed to warm to her quickly and pictures sent while I was away were very reassuring. I believe they got the attention they enjoy 🤗.”
“Hello, Thanks again for taking care of our four-legged family! They were not only alive, but seemed way less stressed than on previous trips to the vet for overnight stays. If you're available, we will certainly look to book you again. Aside- The door was locked, but we didn't see the top lock key on the keychain. Please let us know if you left it separately or need to drop it off. Thanks and take care!”

“Cory was a lifesaver for me. I was in town for a wedding and frantic and she picked Franklin up and dropped him off for me at my hotel. “Sam has a great property for dog sitting, fully fenced in with indoor AC available. My two dogs fully enjoyed their stay, helping with the garden and playing with her adorable pup. I would highly recommend Sam as a pet sitter. 15/10 experience!”

About: I've basically been around dogs all my life and I love them dearly. I lived on a farm in Mexico for over 15 years and had my pack of 5 dogs. I enjoy playing and spending time with them, walks and talks :) I have patience for dogs like no other, their needs are my top priority. Every dog is a good dog🖤 I'm currently unemployed, so I'll have all the time in the world to take care and to have a fun time with your pup!! Walks, treats and belly rubs all day🖤 I have a fenced back yard that your pup and my pup can play in, many dog toys and of course the house to roam around in. My house isn't very small but not too big either, but its definitely safe for your pup 100%. I do walks locally, so it's safe and close to home!
“Mackenzie was fantastic with our Moseley and Mochi was such a fun new friend! The pups were fast friends and had a great time together. So happy to have Makenzie in the Gorge for pup playdates that allow us some time to do things where our pooch cannot join us, all while knowing she is having as much fun as we are!”

“Emmillie and Eden are wonderful! My pup had a great daycare experience and certainly kept Emmillie on her toes :-D She was so accommodating to my dogs needs and mine. Very communicative and provided all the daycare updates and photos. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend!”

About: I'm an experienced dog sitter and former dog mom just returning to Rover and accepting new and returning clients! I have decades of experience taking care of dogs, including my own, friends', and dogs in rescues and shelters. I was the dog-walking coordinator for a dog rescue and a dog-walking volunteer for a public shelter for years. I actually grew up afraid of dogs and it was a big deal for me to start volunteering to walk strange dogs; it helped build my confidence, and I was -- and still am -- very attuned to what's going on with the creature at the other end of the leash. I believe every dog has unique needs and temperament and honor these while they're in my care to ensure they feel as secure and safe as possible. DOG SITTING AND BOARDING: I work from home as an editor, so your dog will get lots of attention and potty breaks. Your dog is welcome to join me on the couch or lie at my feet for regular pets, or chill in another room in or out of a crate. Whatever will make your dog feel most at ease while you're away. I recently lost my own 15-year-old dog, so your pup will be my sole focus (and will get lots of love and care). I have a fully fenced yard at my home for potty breaks (separate from walks/hikes). If you don't have a fully fenced yard at your home, it's no problem to take your dog for leashed potty walks as frequently as necessary.
“John was recommended to me and we were very happy. He came by for a meet and greet and our pups really liked him, John is also very friendly and polite. John really likes dogs and put in a lot of effort into the walks. Our old dog goes on a short walk and our young dog needs a long walk. Looking forward to having John come by again!”
“Mckenzie was great! You can really tells she knows what she's doing. She knows how to pick up on behavior and is well versed in training. I was in town for work staying at a hotel and she was able to accommodate last minute. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets, my family’s and close friends’ pets, for basically my whole life. Whenever a pet is around, I tend to forget about socializing with people and instead focus on being that pet’s best friend. I am an active pet sitter who loves to play with dogs and take them on walks. I’m a seasonal river guide, so after the season is over this fall I am hoping to pet sit for a while until my next seasonal job starts up. I’ll have full availability for this fall until my next job starts in November. I love to focus on the pet and leave the space as good as, if not better, than I found it. I believe deeply in respecting other people’s homes and making sure the pet feels comfortable and taken care of.
About: I grew up with all kinds of animals and I am willing do to whatever it takes to make them happy, comfortable, and cared for. I do work varying shifts from 10-12 hours 3-4x a week. However, outside of work I will still provide everything they may need! With lots of pets, play time and going outside! I do have a full yard and I moved to a house so i no longer live in an apartment. I dont have any dogs. Not since I moved out. I watch a beautiful hound when his parents need time away. My parents have two beautiful well taken care of Rottweilers. I have five cats. I feed them good quality food and occasionally do raw food diet when I can afford it. I play with them when I can and they are inside cats.
“Katlyn took my dog for a long walk while I went to an appointment and she did a fantastic job. My dog had the biggest smile on his face when he returned! He is a very strong, hyper, and young Labrador male and he can be a handful at times! But she knew of good training tips and helped get his energy out for me. I would definitely recommend Katlyn as well as trust her to take my dog out on another adventure! It was a relief to know he was in good hands.”
