Since moving to Whidbey Island 11 years ago I have worked professionally to care for animals on a number of levels from Dog Runner to Veterinarian Technician. About: I’ve had two different dogs in my family since I was born. I have been responsible for feeding and cleaning up after my most recent dog. I graduated from the University of Denver and have spent 2+ months in the last year staying overnight to care for clients’ pets and homes. I am young and in fairly good shape, so I can run with dogs if requested! I have experience walking not only my dog, but various friends’ dogs. I get along well with all kinds of animals, but I am most familiar with dogs. About: I’ve spent my life around animals, growing up with big dogs and cats and now working at an animal rescue. I’m an early riser, so in the mornings me and my dog will often be on local trails, off leash parks, at Double Bluff, or wandering our sleepy Clinton neighborhood. We love to play in my fully fenced yard regularly throughout the day. Fridays and my weekends are all about enjoying the beautiful PNW with my pup and I’d love to bring your pets along for the ride! In my home, pets are welcome on the furniture and treated like members of the family. Paws are wiped off when we come back inside, and everyone has free roam of the house. When necessary we have gates to seperate upstairs and downstairs areas, so if your pet needs some private time on their own couch, it’s available to them! At your house, I treat your space with the same level of care I give your pets. I’ll make sure the mail is brought in, your plants are watered, the house stays tidy, and the locks are triple checked. Because I work with rescued animals, I’m also very intentional about maintaining your pet’s routine to minimize any anxiety while you’re away. When we’re out, I’m hyper-vigilant about leash safety and harness checks. If your dog is a flight risk or just easily spooked, I have the experience to keep them focused, happy, and secure. About: I've had experience taking care of both dogs and cats. My friends and family have often trusted me with taking care of their pets, which included feeding and walking them. With my former dog, I did basic training in commands (i.e. sit, stay, come) and know how to be firm when necessary. As a recent cat owner, I've learned the reins on taking care of a cat and how to live with one as well. Currently I'm freelancing, so I'm pretty flexible on availability with enough notice! Walking and playing with your pets is a fun activity I'm always down for. I can take care of cats and small dogs within my living space. She was so great with my pup and followed all of the care instructions. She sent loads of pictures and updates throughout the stay to ensure my peace of mind. When we picked them up, they came back healthy, relaxed, and in great spirits. What really stood out was how accommodating Monica was with our constantly changing travel schedule. We also loved that she only boards a small number of dogs at a time (just two), so they get plenty of attention and care.
