“My husband and I had planned and booked a 2 week bucket list trip to Peru and were set to leave in 7 weeks. We had arranged our normal pet sitter that we’ve used for years to come and take care of our (almost) 15 year old cat, Mr. Christmas. It was around that time that Mr. Christmas stopped eating. Mr. Christmas had no real health conditions, no meds…and he was declining fast. After extensive testing, imaging, and seeing a specialist, he was diagnosed with either IBD or cancer and was going to need a lot of follow up. He was on multiple oral medications and he still wasn’t eating great. I couldn’t leave him in the house with someone who can only come see him once a day. He needed more support and our normal pet sitter couldn’t provide that for him. I was fully prepared to cancel the trip, but thought I’d go on Rover to see if anyone could match what we were looking for and if anyone would be willing to do what we were asking. We needed three, hour-long visits daily, forcing food at him, weighing him, and administering multiple daily medications. I found Melanie explaining what I was looking for, and I was really impressed that she was up early at 4:30am to message me. Melanie communicated with me each week leading up to our trip. We initially didn’t have a diagnosis and I needed vet clearance to leave him. Melanie asked many questions, and when we finally were told that he was stable enough to leave, she came over to our house with a list of questions to go over with us. He’s got a bit…a lot…of an attitude. She made sure that she didn’t approach him and waited for him to come to her. She was so thoughtful about every detail of their interaction in front of us. My husband and I both felt that even though she is a stranger to us, there was something calming about her and she was very professional. We knew Mr. Christmas would be okay, but I wasn’t expecting him to thrive the way that he did. Melanie never missed a visit. She never asked for anything from me. She communicated with me daily throughout the two weeks. She braved picking him up to put him on the scale multiple times. Mr. Christmas gained weight with Melanie. He wasn’t gaining weight with me at home, but she is just that good. Pictures of Mr. Christmas started with him sleeping alone, and then he got closer and closer to her on the couch. He even started inviting her to watch him in the litter box (I’m mortified), but he only does this with “his people”. Our dog came to visit at home a few days to see Mr. Christmas (they are besties), and Melanie had no problem cuddling our dog while visiting Mr. Christmas. To describe Melanie in one or two words, I would say she is easygoing and pays great attention to detail. She makes everything seem easy and carefree, and my anxiety really appreciated that on this trip. I got home from 15 days away from him, and he is this thick ball of fluffy happiness. He was WELL taken care of. We could have never gone on this trip without Melanie. She is a true gem and I will be referring anyone and everyone I know to her. About: I've been the go to carer for all kinds of pets (dogs, cats, senior animals.) for my family and friends since I was a teenager. I find that I have a calming presence that puts them at ease. I have some experience with training, mostly with previous pets. I'm currently in school and working part time. I have Friday, Saturdays and Sundays free. And Thursday afternoons free. If things go well here, I hope to have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons free too. I have a fenced yard with lots of room to play and lots of toys. About: I've had dogs for as long as I remember. I currently have 5 dogs that live with my parents in Southern Indiana. They are dogs of all types of breeds and sizes, most of which we raised from puppies. The most recent dog, was found in the woods behind their house and I spent hours picking ticks off of him. I just moved to this area and I already miss my dogs so much. I truly love dogs and will take great care of yours! I currently don't have a traditional job so I am free pretty much anytime to look after your pups and give them the care they deserve! I am really good with dogs of all sizes. Make sure your pet is friendly with them too ^^ *If this is your first time with me please let's set up a Meet and Greet so you can meet me and my pets and make sure we are a good fit for your pup!! (I don't take new pets without a previous meet and greet, unless is an emergency case) My priority is to keep your pet safe, comfortable and fully entertained while you are away. Walks around the lake in our neighorhood surrounded by nature are a must do in our daily check list (sometimes we even take them to the mall to socialize and get free treats lol) As a pet sitter I'm offering house & pet walking/sitting opportunities to families (I'm willing to travel farther and pick up them by myself)! In the other hand, Kai is a medium size old doggy, he gets very excited with new pets but a few minutes later he just ignore them and likes to go back to take long naps on the couch. I have 2 friendly indoor cats, they mostly spend the day sleeping inside the bedroom or playing with the dogs from time to time.

About: - I'm a passionate animal lover who works full-time from home. I have the flexibility to choose my hours so I can accommodate drop-in pet visits, dog walking and boarding. About: I’ve had or taken care of pets my entire life. I will listen to you and what your pet’s needs are and will ensure that they get the best care. Being in the position of needing pet care myself at times, I know how important it is to be confident in your sitter. I currently work from home 3 days a week. On the days that I go into work I will come home halfway through the day to check on your pets that I’m watching. Weekends are usually spent taking the dogs for daily outings. I can provide the importance of a partially fenced in yard. I am always willing to take your dog out on a leash if there is a threat of them running off. My pets are a part of my family. I would treat your pets like my own. I love going on walks with dogs and teaching them new tricks. I only take 1 client at a time. I work from home Tuesdays to Fridays. So as long as I have connection to Wi-Fi, I am able to spend my day with your pets. I will respect your home and leave the space as I found it. I do require meet and greets for overnight care bookings. I am happy to help families beyond the radius I have set on rover however I do charge a gas fee of $20 + for locations more than 20 minutes from me. My work schedule is flexible. I work from home 4 days a week (tues-fri). I am able to step away when needed for walks/potty breaks. I will follow your directions and pet needs. I have a reliable vehicle to get to your home. I am happy to collect mail, packages, water plants, taking out trash and any other miscellaneous tasks. I am happy to provide status updates and pictures.

About: Hello there, I'm Quincy! I grew up on a farm taking care of goats, horses, chickens, cats & dogs. During which I heavily participated in cleaning up after, feeding, and of course completely adoring these animals. Dog walking & cat-sitting professionally have been a part of my life for the last 2 years and have many references to provide if needed. Providing this service has consistently felt like a mutually rewarding experience for everyone involved. I love caring for animals and helping others do the same! It should be noted I have also worked with elderly animals as well as animals with disabilities. Before I changed my career focus to animal-care taking I worked as an infant/toddler nanny, for the over 6 years. Giving me lots of general caregiving & house-keeping experience. On top of that, I've also been an independent contractor doing house cleaning over the course of the last few years. I have a completely open schedule. I'd prefer working/dog-walking/cat-sitting between the hours of 8 am & 8 pm. In the past I usually dog walk at 8 am and again at 8 pm. When I have house-sat (with cats) it has been for 1 week to 3 weeks at a time. I am open to many possibilities. These are just examples of what I've done in the past. As far as providing care for animals in my client's home goes, I am extremely attentive to an animal, its needs, and my client's needs & requests. I want to befriend the animal, if possible, and certainly feed, hydrate, walk (if dog) and clean up after the animals however needed. I will not be able to have any pets in my home currently. I can certainly drive to you & provide dog walks or house-sitting though!

About: I've had dogs for as long as I remember. I currently have 5 dogs that live with my parents in Southern Indiana. They are dogs of all types of breeds and sizes, most of which we raised from puppies. The most recent dog, was found in the woods behind their house and I spent hours picking ticks off of him. I just moved to this area and I already miss my dogs so much. I truly love dogs and will take great care of yours! I currently don't have a traditional job so I am free pretty much anytime to look after your pups and give them the care they deserve! I am really good with dogs of all sizes. I will be available for daily feedings, walks, and will have the time to play a long as they wish.
