She only takes two dogs at a time which was perfect for my dog and my sister's since they're best friends! Gwynn was great with initial introductions with my somewhat skittish dog and her dogs. We were in contact with her everyday with photos and a video of them frolicking in the snow. She always responded quickly via phone or text. After picking them up, our dogs ended up sleeping the entire next day from having too much fun. My dog in particular did not want to leave Gwynn's chickens! I would highly recommend Gwynn, especially if your dog needs personal attention, lots of exercise and outdoor time.”

About: I've owned and taken care of dogs my entire life. I'm proud to be one of the first people friends and family call when a petsitter is needed. I love walking, and I love dogs. This seems like the perfect opportunity to exercise and get my animal fix! I'm currently working full-time Monday through Friday. I can do evening walks after 5:00 PM (as weather allows) and I can do weekends between 9:00 AM - 6 PM. My current apartment doesn't allow pets, but I can housesit on weekends or in the evenings if the location is somewhat close to my work in Waterbury. I'm a long-time vegetarian, and have always had an extra sensitive heart when it comes to animals. I think that earning an animal's trust is such a privilege and gift, and I honor that. I cannot house pets in my current apartment, but I will follow the guidance and knowledge of the owners in their homes and while on walks.

She also left wonderfully detailed check-in notes and was very communicative. She spent about an hour here each time and in addition to food, water, litter Samantha spent time with Cameo and kept her company. She played with Cameo and brushed her and Cameo responded with love. I adopted Cameo six months ago and she has gradually warmed to her new life with me. When I returned from being away Cameo was even a little more relaxed and friendly than before I left. Professionally, I was vet assistant at an animal clinic before returning to farm animal work. At the clinic I learned the basics of animal health care and I learned how to properly handle dogs and cats. Throughout the last twelve years I’ve farm-sat and pet-sat for numerous friends and family members! In the last year I worked at a doggy daycare and worked groups of 11-12 large dogs. I also worked in group of 15+ small dogs and "solos" (highly dog aggressive dogs). Working in that environment took me to the next level of understanding cues and dog behavior. I learned to advocate for dogs, look for health and safety warning signs and how to manage group dynamics. About: My parents and friends know they can rely on me for animal sitting. Ive taken care of dogs and cats consistently for 15 years. I have experience with all sized dogs for I’ve helped train my German Shepard and toy poodle alongside with my mom. I am going to be home until mid June but will back to animal in early August. I am very flexible with time as long as I am scheduled 3 days in advanced. The closest main road to my house is 3/4 of mile so cars won’t be an issue. I love trail walking and running which sometimes my dogs will accompany me; there are a lot of no car friendly trails to venture on. I do it all the time with my German Shepard and my neighbors German Shepard who are dog friendly. At home it is easy to give the dogs space to themselves for I have my own room where they can eat and sleep.

Not a cage or kennel but a finished 20x20 heated and furnished room in my barn loft where we can play and visit one on one.

About: I’ve had 2 dogs in my lifetime, starting from a few weeks old and caring for them through their lives. Besides personal experience, I am my friends and families go to person when it comes to pet-sitting. Walking, feeding, bathing… you name it! I recently graduated from UVM with my B.S in animal science hoping to go to Vet school in the future. I have worked with more than just dogs and cats, but livestock too. “Our 6-month old puppy has had 2 stays with Piper so far. She is amazing. Our dog is fearful of strangers and needs to warm up at his own pace (which can be extremely slow at times). Piper just knew how to handle him from the get go and went out of her way to make him feel comfortable. She even discovered things that our little guy likes that we did not know. Prior to his first stay, Piper spent quite a bit of time on the phone to get as much information as possible about Milo. She even made recommendations to make him feel comfortable. While he was anxious at drop off time, he was a happy little guy after his first experience there. At the second stay a week later, I left Piper's house with him licking from her hand and not really caring that I was leaving (a huge accomplishment given his fear level). And when I picked him up, he did not even come to the door - I guess he had forgotten about me and was happily chewing on a bone, all comfy on the rug. Piper is family no. 2 to our dog!”

I believe the best way to teach a dog is positive reinforcement and will work with whatever routines you have established with your furry family member. I work from home 3 days per week and the days are flexible except Thursday when I have to be at my office in Montpelier. I can go home on my lunch breaks for walks on the days I'm in the office (and you're close to Montpelier) and can work from your home if I'm housesitting and you have internet. As a gal in her 40s I'm pretty low key and will be very happy spending my time with your pet in your home or taking them on adventures if that's what they prefer. I love hiking and walks and have lots of friends with dogs if socialization is something you'd like for your pup.
About: I have had dogs in my life my whole life, and your dogs will act like part of my family all the time! Your pup will come home happy and tired, perfect for the snuggles you want without making them tired! Get the fun without the work! I am so excited to meet your furry friend and make them my friend too. I have experience with puppies, older dogs, active dogs, and calm dogs. All dogs deserve to have a good long walk- but don’t forget about the sniffing! That’s important too! I am open to any suggestions and whatever way you want your dog to be cared for!
