“Julian and Jocelyn are excellent hosts! My husband and I were faced with a situation where our usual hosts were not available and we needed to leave our Boston terrier in new hands for a month; also the longest duration we were separated from our baby to date. Needless to say, this was not an easy decision for us. From the moment we corresponded with Julian and Jocelyn are fears were put to ease. They are extremely professional and responsive to emails and texts. We were able to schedule a meet and greet and were impressed by the questions they asked to understand our dogs needs and personality. As soon we entered their home, Layla felt very comfortable and relaxed. She was able to quickly pick up on Julian and Jocelyn's calm and warming energy. At one point our Layla made herself comfortable on their couch and completely settled right in. While we were traveling we received beautiful photos (these really are professional grade pictures) of Layla and warm updates about their time together, which we loved. In the pictures we could see how calm and relaxed Layla was. Julian and Jocelyn also went out of their way to keep Layla active and even bathed her when they felt she needed it. They were also very flexible with changes to our schedule. Working with Julian and Jocelyn was an absolute pleasure and knowing our dog was in such good hands made our trip so much less stressful. We highly recommend Jocelyn and Julian and will definitely leave Layla in their great care in the future. I know she misses them already! Thank you Jocelyn and Julian! About: I have experience working with dogs of all ages, l’m comfortable administering medications—I definitely have a soft spot for dogs with special needs! I have three dogs of my own and always travel with my smallest one, Meera, a 9lb chi mix who is very quiet and well behaved. I work at a doggie daycare four days a week so Friday through Sunday I’d be out of the house for about 8 hours a day. I am the lucky mama of three sweet rescue dogs named Jelly Bean, Frankie, and Meera. They are highly socialized due to the nature of my work and they join me for house sitting and pet care. I removed a star because she had a last minute mix up with her work schedule and texted us the morning we were leaving to let us know she could not come within the agreed upon time window, which left us scrambling calling neighbors and friends asking for backup. She ended up getting her work schedule moved around to make it work, which we really appreciated, but she was not able to stay the full 30 minutes at that time. This delayed us leaving on our trip by about two hours, which was a challenging start for us. With that being said, we really appreciated Bianca going above and beyond to get her work schedule moved around when things went awry.”

About: I grew up with many animals, both my own pets, and animals on my grandfather's dairy farm (he was also a vet). I live in the country in Richmond, and have cats, young kids and animals Rover won't let me name in the description...but they provide eggs. We have dogs in our "extended family" and we are well accustomed to dogs but we do not have one ourselves at this time. If your dog is 100% safe with those people and pets and well-behaved, let's talk! Independently insured. We enjoy hosting dogs, and are home most days of the week for most of the day. We enjoy walking with dogs and playing fetch (if dogs like to do that) on our hill in our yard. We would need to do a meet & greet to make sure it is a good match. Our yard is not fenced, and we are on a dirt road in the country with woods on the property and surrounding it, so dogs should not be prone to bolting etc. They must be 100% safe with young kids, cats and free range egg producers. No aggressive or reactive dogs please.

Please let me know about anything your pet needs to feel safe and happy. The more information the better. I can handle separation anxiety and other behavioral issues but prefer to know ahead of time. Please make sure your pet is treated for fleas/ticks. If your baby has a history of indoor urination, please provide diapers/belly bands. Happy to accommodate all ages and stages. I truly enjoy the company of animals and also like to walk often. Being in the park and exercising helps lift my spirits. My dog has improved my life in many ways and he makes me a better human. Pets are given a cool, calm and comfy environment. Plenty of walks and free access to filtered water. (Treats also, if owners request/permit). I am almost obsessively neat and always treat my customers’ homes with respect. My goal is to be as unobtrusive as possible. Scrupulous about keeping your home secure while you are away. About: There has always been a dog in my life and it’s the absolute best! I am a big believer in positive reinforcement training. I’ve worked with a dog trainer for a few weeks (with my own dog Lucy) and have enjoyed reading about positive reinforcement training techniques. I always enjoy greeting other furry friends while we’re out on the trails or at the town off-leash area. I have experience with puppies and senior dogs and my current dog Lucy was, (and still sometimes is!), pretty high-energy. We get outside for some energy-burning activity at least 2x a day. We live right next to trails, a pond, and a river. I’ve mostly taken in friends’ dogs over the past couple of years but we’re used to having an extra dog come to stay and would be happy to welcome yours! I work from home and Lucy is with me all day. We exercise and/or have play breaks throughout the day. I have very few commitments outside the home. We are active and live right next to town & state forest with many trails. I run, hike, and mountain bike. We also have 2 ponds which is the best for water-loving dogs! I take Lucy out every couple of hours on our property (big meadow) or surrounding trails. She is mostly off-leash but can be on-leash if that works better with your dog. Lucy loves all dogs and is a great, energetic playmate. We have a crate if that's part of your dog's routine.

About: My experience taking care of dogs goes back to my childhood. When I was 8 we got a new puppy and from that moment on I have been obsessed. From taking care of newborn puppies and experiencing the birthing process to helping my senior dogs find comfort in their final days, I have seen it all. I would fit pet sitting into my daily/ weekly routine but ensuring all animals are fed and have water. I will give them some play time. If walks are needed I will ensure I arrive earlier to give any dogs walks. I have two cats. Athena and Vixen Both girls are on a strict routine. They get fed wet food twice a day and dry food once. Their wet food includes multivitamins, probiotics and allergy medications. Both cats have separate diets that best suit their needs. Having 4 dogs in one home has really taught me how to read different behaviors, making sure they all feel respected and loved, I’ve learned to always keep them trained with commands and above all to make sure they’ve gotten their energy out. I currently only work 8 hour shifts on Wednesday and Fridays, all other days in the week I am available to care for your pet/s. I make sure to follow every instruction provided when caring for a pet in someone’s home. The pet’s human knows them best and it’s essential to follow all instructions to a tee. I make sure to be present with the animal during all aspects of the visit including play/free time. I’m very careful and safe with animals and I try to make sure the dog/cat’s needs are met before leaving the home.
“Had a great experience booking daily walks for three days with Jenna. Had to book super last minute and she was kind enough to accept and be flexible with us. She provided a rover card for each walk showing how far and long they walked as well as if my dog pooped 1-2x which was rlly helpful for me. jenna also went the extra mile of feeding him and making sure he ate after his walks while also keeping him company for a good amount of time afterwards too. All of which was rlly appreciated, well communicated, and shows how much she cares! I also received a daily picture which I looked forward to everyday :) not many dog walkers would do all of this but she did. Also, it was rlly important that my dog goes on a 30 min walk once every 24 h or else he won’t eat and starts throwing up from starving himself and she responsibly did show up within the asked/ flexible time frame:) Would book another walk with her in the future”

She ate all her meals at Peter’s house (which she rarely does at home) so I know she was relaxed with him. At pick up, she made a point to go over and lean into him to say goodbye! “Julian and Jocelyn are excellent hosts! My husband and I were faced with a situation where our usual hosts were not available and we needed to leave our Boston terrier in new hands for a month; also the longest duration we were separated from our baby to date. Needless to say, this was not an easy decision for us. From the moment we corresponded with Julian and Jocelyn are fears were put to ease. They are extremely professional and responsive to emails and texts. We were able to schedule a meet and greet and were impressed by the questions they asked to understand our dogs needs and personality. As soon we entered their home, Layla felt very comfortable and relaxed. She was able to quickly pick up on Julian and Jocelyn's calm and warming energy. At one point our Layla made herself comfortable on their couch and completely settled right in. While we were traveling we received beautiful photos (these really are professional grade pictures) of Layla and warm updates about their time together, which we loved. In the pictures we could see how calm and relaxed Layla was. Julian and Jocelyn also went out of their way to keep Layla active and even bathed her when they felt she needed it. They were also very flexible with changes to our schedule. Working with Julian and Jocelyn was an absolute pleasure and knowing our dog was in such good hands made our trip so much less stressful. We highly recommend Jocelyn and Julian and will definitely leave Layla in their great care in the future. I know she misses them already! Thank you Jocelyn and Julian! About: As a lifelong animal lover with years of experience, I have had the pleasure of caring for a wide range of pets, including dogs, cats, and small animals. My experience spans from handling playful puppies to providing tender care for senior pets from friends and family for over five years. I am free this July until August and otherwise I will be going to UVM this fall so my availability will vary based on my schedule. I’m not planning on taking any pets to my house since it is not pet safe. I will gladly though pet sit in your house.
