“We couldn’t ask for a better experience with Chad. Our family stayed in Smugglers’ Notch/Stowe area and our resort (if you do timeshare, you understand) doesn’t allow pets. We still wanted our dog close and finding Chad is awesome. He took the time to discuss ahead of boarding all necessary details about Pakun. He even asked for written notes and sent daily pictures and videos. We are kept updated especially with important details about our dog’s behavior. We could tell our Pakun was treated so well. Our English Springer’s hair was not tangled and he was clean when we picked him up. It is hard to believe since our dog has videos of walks, playing in the park and playdates with other dogs,he even did enrichment activities. Our dog is used to group boarding when we go on vacation, he usually comes back smelly and all tangled up. We are so pleased with our experience this time and we are so glad we brought him to have his own vacation with Chad.”

About: I have been around cats since I was a young child. My mom had cats and they were kept very neat and clean. At one point my mom had 32 cats. Nobody would have guessed it by coming in the house. When I was grown and moved out I continued to have cats. I have had all types of cats. They range from big to small, males and females, friendly and not so friendly. Currently we have 3 tuxedo cats that are all very friendly with their very own personalities. I enjoy cats because they have their own personalities and yet they are very independent. They have strong souls. A cat has a way of being very mysterious. Their purr is their way of letting you know how happy and content they are. It truly is very soothing to listen too, at least for me. They are individuals with their own likes and dislikes and I don't know if I've met two cats that are the same. I also understand that cats may also have special needs and require special care whether they are young or old and that can be anything from food, to medicine, to handling. I have experienced it all in my many years of cat care.

“Our 6 year old GSD, Flynn, has been with Chad since he was 4 months old. Up until a few months ago in a doggie day care, and now spending 2 days a week with him in a more 1:1 setting. Chad's calm, nurturing demeanor and unwavering patience and consistency with our often anxious and always energetic guy makes such a huge different for our family. Flynn's 2 days a week with Chad mean that he is a calmer, happier, less anxious dog at home. All of this being said, I think the biggest recommendation that we could give would be that whether it was at day care drop off or Chad pulling into our driveway for a visit, Flynn can never get to Chad fast enough. For us- that says it all!”

About: I have always been around dogs and other pets since I was a baby, and have always loved and cherished them. As an adult we have raised and taken care of three cats and dogs. While in the military for 10 years, I was responsible for taking care of many other pets, especially dogs, for other service members while they traveled or deployed. My dog Nigel and I tend to make fast friends with any other dogs we meet! I recently got out of the military, and moved back home to Vermont. I am currently not working, and will be working on online college courses from home for the foreseeable future. Therefore I have a very flexible schedule, and can make all the time necessary to keep any pets entertained and well taken care of! I have a very sweet four year old male English Cream Golden Retriever, named Nigel, who loves friends more than anything (other than treats) and will be my permanent doggie daycare assistant. We have a large 2.5 acre property that is partially fenced, with large yard space to run in, and wooded nature trails in the back for walks and lots of sniffs. We are also about 5 minutes away from a beautiful dog park and miles of nature trails that we try to go to every day.

About: I’ve had dogs since I was a toddler. I currently have an almost 1-year old big goofy catahoula leopard/pitbull mix. I routinely dog sit for extended family and I have fostered for a local dog rescue. One of my favorite activities is taking a dog for a nice neighborhood walk or an active hike. If your dog comes here for a stay, they are treated as a member of the family. They’re welcome to lounge on the couch and we even love to bring them on outings with us if your dog would enjoy it. I’m a full time mom so I have a fairly flexible schedule for adding in dog walks. If your dog is ok with kiddos joining, I can be even more accommodating. I currently have a puppy who could accompany me on walks or drop-ins if you think your dog could benefit from seeing a play buddy. If not, I can do some quality 1:1 time with your pooch.

About: Hello! I’m Katie and I’m the woman petting the dog instead of socializing at the party. My fiancé Jonny and I relocated back to Lamoille county a few years ago and we’d love to watch your dog! We currently have a senior chihuahua foster fail named Pig. Before leaving Philly, Jonny worked for Happy Tails of Philly as a sitter & walker for 8 years. I was formerly the GM and Boarding Coordinator for a chain of dog daycares in Philadelphia, working for them for 4 years-so it’s safe to say we are well versed with canines! I was a foster parent with City of Elderly Love in Philly and hope to foster again now that I’ve relocated to Vermont. All of our dog experience can guarantee that not only is your dog going to be safe and comfortable with us, but will have as much fun possible! Whether that’s playing fetch in the yard, going for a walk or lounging on the couch, we are happy as long as the dogs around us are! About: I have been fortunate enough to have grown up with dogs and then continue to own dogs for my entire life. While growing up we owned big dogs, little dogs, smart dogs, goofy dogs and everything in between. When I had a farm and family I continued the tradition of having all types, sizes and temperaments of dogs. I have been solely responsible for training, care and loving all these pups. To say I have learned a lot the old fashioned way would be an understatement. Currently,,I own six Australian Shepherds. I started a very small but very responsible breeding program in 2020. I would have one litter a year by different moms. After a lot of research and talking to different rescues I learned how this particular breed is very misunderstood and end up abandoned or turned over to shelters. I then immediately came to the conclusion I did not want to add to this situation but wanted to be part of the solution. I then turned my sights to rescuing. This has become my passion and I am still helping out Australian Shepherds Furever rescue 3 years later. I have raised pups for them and took the mothers as well. I have personally interviewed and filtered through possible adopters for the pups and the mothers when they were ready. I trained all of our puppies and continue the training processes with the fosters. I have also done some competing with my Aussies and have gained achievement rewards with them. I have a love and passion for all animals and respect each animal individually. Each one is different and learn, trust and love differently. It's this understanding that separates me from other individuals. I currently have 6 Aussies, three cats and all kinds of farm animals. My focus is mostly with the cats and dogs. I do work a full time job but when I'm at home I'm rotating dogs so each one can get the love, attention, stimulation and focus that they deserve. I am always working on training, repetition, and a schedule so days and nights run smoothly in the home. Every dog and cat gets the time and love that they deserve and seek. I'm looking to fill weekends currently and if it's close by I could pull off a week here and there to spend time with other's pets. During these times my other half is home and can show them the attention they need. We won't tell my other half but they enjoy mom time better... Wink wink While in a clients home and taking care of the clients fur babies I will keep the same schedule and routine that those fur babies are already use to. Additionally, if they need to be medicated I will follow those guidelines as well as any outdoor or exercise guidelines. The last thing that I want to do is upset those fur babies anymore than they may already be because mom and dad are gone. My goal is for those fur babies to become part of my large family of fur babies and except me as one of their own. HopefullyI will be liked and utilized enough by your family that me being there is like part of the family visiting.

About: I’ve been taking care of all sorts of animals since I was young. Walking, training and feeding dogs… scooping litter boxes, feeding and playing with cats… almost anything you can imagine when it comes to pet care! During the weekends, my days are fairly open which allows for more flexibility. Safety and trust are very important. I would follow the expectations and maintain the routines of the owners. Therefore, this will look different in every household.

About: Hi, I’m Jess, I’ve had animals my entire life, currently have 2 pups of my own. I also have worked at an animal shelter for over 12 years, which included kennel care, dogs walks from puppy, easy walkers to harder walker that needed extra guidance. Also included socializing the dogs from super shy ones to clingy out going ones. Also have cat experience from shy timmed cats to also clingy out going ones. Have experience with having to give pets meds and recovery times if needed. I enjoy talking my pups for walks, hikes and play times, Hi, I’m currently a stay at home mom to my daughter who would need to come with me time to time. I would be able to do drop in visits or walks with your pets including photos and updates while we are there. I have a fenced yard for my pups, go on daily walks. And weekly hikes. Tons of love snuggles and playtime for them. I would make sure they get everything they needed rather it’s snuggling or getting the playtime zoomies out.
About: My experience taking care of dogs goes back to my childhood. When I was 8 we got a new puppy and from that moment on I have been obsessed. From taking care of newborn puppies and experiencing the birthing process to helping my senior dogs find comfort in their final days, I have seen it all. I learned a lot of what I know from firsthand experience but also from reading many books of dog behavior and from being taught training techniques from a close family friend and dog trainer. Nothing makes me happier than a dog and nothing makes my dog happier than being with other dogs! I hope to ease the stress that can come from managing life and wanting the best for your pup by providing a safe space for them to have fun! I am currently a student at University and my schedule takes me away from the home for 6 hours a day 5 days a week. I am always providing enrichment activities for my dog while I am away from the house and we go on a long walk when I return. I have a big yard that is partially wooded for the dogs to play around in, whether your dog is good off leash or not. I have a run for my dog that he stays on when outside in the yard but he usually sticks with me so he’s not always attached. In the home are multiple dog beds and comfy places for the pups to rest after a long day. There is always access to water, inside and out. My dog is very easy going so we are willing to be adaptable on a pet to pet basis.

“We couldn’t ask for a better experience with Chad. Our family stayed in Smugglers’ Notch/Stowe area and our resort (if you do timeshare, you understand) doesn’t allow pets. We still wanted our dog close and finding Chad is awesome. He took the time to discuss ahead of boarding all necessary details about Pakun. He even asked for written notes and sent daily pictures and videos. We are kept updated especially with important details about our dog’s behavior. We could tell our Pakun was treated so well. Our English Springer’s hair was not tangled and he was clean when we picked him up. It is hard to believe since our dog has videos of walks, playing in the park and playdates with other dogs,he even did enrichment activities. Our dog is used to group boarding when we go on vacation, he usually comes back smelly and all tangled up. We are so pleased with our experience this time and we are so glad we brought him to have his own vacation with Chad.”
