“My sister and I were heading to Stowe with our dogs for a ski trip when we found out the house wasn't dog friendly. Oh no! Luckily we found Gwynn who lives close to Stowe. She only takes two dogs at a time which was perfect for my dog and my sister's since they're best friends! Gwynn was great with initial introductions with my somewhat skittish dog and her dogs. We were in contact with her everyday with photos and a video of them frolicking in the snow. She always responded quickly via phone or text. After picking them up, our dogs ended up sleeping the entire next day from having too much fun. My dog in particular did not want to leave Gwynn's chickens! I would highly recommend Gwynn, especially if your dog needs personal attention, lots of exercise and outdoor time.”

I own a mini Australian Shepherd named Oakley who is 8 months old. He joins me on most of my adventures that include running, hiking, paddleboarding, snowboarding, and overall just be outside. About: I've owned and taken care of dogs my entire life. I'm proud to be one of the first people friends and family call when a petsitter is needed. I love walking, and I love dogs. This seems like the perfect opportunity to exercise and get my animal fix! I'm currently working full-time Monday through Friday. I can do evening walks after 5:00 PM (as weather allows) and I can do weekends between 9:00 AM - 6 PM. My current apartment doesn't allow pets, but I can housesit on weekends or in the evenings if the location is somewhat close to my work in Waterbury. I'm a long-time vegetarian, and have always had an extra sensitive heart when it comes to animals. I think that earning an animal's trust is such a privilege and gift, and I honor that. I cannot house pets in my current apartment, but I will follow the guidance and knowledge of the owners in their homes and while on walks.
About: Grew up around dogs, my family has always had one in our lives. Feel I have a special bond with dogs, big and small, and rarely do I experience coming across a dog that does not warm up to me. Experienced in all forms of taking care of dogs, from walking and feeding, to playing and living with, sitting for family and friends both in their home and ours. I work full time from home but have a lot of flexibility during the day. Early mornings and evenings can be accommodated with simple planning. My family currently has an older female beagle who is sweet as can be, and very lazy. She is not aggressive towards other dogs and is fine being around dogs. We have three little children who are completely accustomed to having dogs present, and love to help with feeding and play time. We live in a small house but could accommodate 1 dog for short stays if need be, preferably small-medium sized (less than 40lbs). We do not have a fenced-in yard but live near a dog park and excellent areas for walking.

“Our 6-month old puppy has had 2 stays with Piper so far. She is amazing. Our dog is fearful of strangers and needs to warm up at his own pace (which can be extremely slow at times). Piper just knew how to handle him from the get go and went out of her way to make him feel comfortable. She even discovered things that our little guy likes that we did not know. Prior to his first stay, Piper spent quite a bit of time on the phone to get as much information as possible about Milo. She even made recommendations to make him feel comfortable. While he was anxious at drop off time, he was a happy little guy after his first experience there. At the second stay a week later, I left Piper's house with him licking from her hand and not really caring that I was leaving (a huge accomplishment given his fear level). And when I picked him up, he did not even come to the door - I guess he had forgotten about me and was happily chewing on a bone, all comfy on the rug. Piper is family no. 2 to our dog!”

I believe the best way to teach a dog is positive reinforcement and will work with whatever routines you have established with your furry family member. I work from home 3 days per week and the days are flexible except Thursday when I have to be at my office in Montpelier. I can go home on my lunch breaks for walks on the days I'm in the office (and you're close to Montpelier) and can work from your home if I'm housesitting and you have internet. About: My parents and friends know they can rely on me for animal sitting. Ive taken care of dogs and cats consistently for 15 years. I have experience with all sized dogs for I’ve helped train my German Shepard and toy poodle alongside with my mom. I am going to be home until mid June but will back to animal in early August. I am very flexible with time as long as I am scheduled 3 days in advanced. The closest main road to my house is 3/4 of mile so cars won’t be an issue. I love trail walking and running which sometimes my dogs will accompany me; there are a lot of no car friendly trails to venture on. I do it all the time with my German Shepard and my neighbors German Shepard who are dog friendly. At home it is easy to give the dogs space to themselves for I have my own room where they can eat and sleep.

I was responsible for administering medications, accommodating pets with special needs, becoming attuned to various behaviors and habits, and adhering to specific individualized training methods. I'm currently working full-time from home as a customer service rep for a small, local company and mothering my 2 year old toddler (who is very gentle and respectful around all animals). I'm fortunately very flexible with my schedule and can accommodate both last-minute and long-term schedules! Being a sincere animal lover, I'm always enthusiastically willing to tend to the needs of any pets that are under my care. I believe that both people and animals benefit from living in a clean and comfortable space, so I seek to maintain and accommodate that kind of positive atmosphere in your pet's home.

“Our 6-month old puppy has had 2 stays with Piper so far. She is amazing. Our dog is fearful of strangers and needs to warm up at his own pace (which can be extremely slow at times). Piper just knew how to handle him from the get go and went out of her way to make him feel comfortable. She even discovered things that our little guy likes that we did not know. Prior to his first stay, Piper spent quite a bit of time on the phone to get as much information as possible about Milo. She even made recommendations to make him feel comfortable. While he was anxious at drop off time, he was a happy little guy after his first experience there. At the second stay a week later, I left Piper's house with him licking from her hand and not really caring that I was leaving (a huge accomplishment given his fear level). And when I picked him up, he did not even come to the door - I guess he had forgotten about me and was happily chewing on a bone, all comfy on the rug. Piper is family no. 2 to our dog!”

Deidre is great about sending pictures and videos and Abbey always looks happy! She also is a groomer and does a great job!”
About: I've been taking care of pets for two decades and will love them like I love my own. I believe the best way to teach a dog is positive reinforcement and will work with whatever routines you have established with your furry family member. I work from home 3 days per week and the days are flexible except Thursday when I have to be at my office in Montpelier. I can go home on my lunch breaks for walks on the days I'm in the office (and you're close to Montpelier) and can work from your home if I'm housesitting and you have internet. As a gal in her 40s I'm pretty low key and will be very happy spending my time with your pet in your home or taking them on adventures if that's what they prefer. I love hiking and walks and have lots of friends with dogs if socialization is something you'd like for your pup.
About: I grew up around animals of all kinds on a farm and had the privilege of owning and loving our dog, Betty Lou for 14 years. I work from home and am looking for ways to make extra money while staying active and fitting in with my kids' school schedule (9 am-3 PM). We have a fenced in yard and I will follow whatever guidelines are needed in the client's home. I understand each situation is different and each pet needs specific care.

About: I have had dogs in my life my whole life, and your dogs will act like part of my family all the time! Your pup will come home happy and tired, perfect for the snuggles you want without making them tired! Get the fun without the work! I am so excited to meet your furry friend and make them my friend too. I have experience with puppies, older dogs, active dogs, and calm dogs. All dogs deserve to have a good long walk- but don’t forget about the sniffing! That’s important too! I am open to any suggestions and whatever way you want your dog to be cared for! About: I am a very experienced pet owner in Montpelier - I have owned and loved alpacas, dogs, goats, cats, and backyard birds of all kinds. I have also done foster care of kittens and cats for CVHS. I'm available to provide a fun and loving spot to board your dogs. They will get attention, care, walks, and playtime with my 4 dogs and part time cat. I have a crate if needed, can be one level if mobility is an issue, am willing to administer meds and have no problem with puppies or senior pets. I am home all afternoon and evening and weekends and dogs get a lunchtime walk as well. I am available for boarding all of the time, but only showed weekends because that’s when I am home all day and evening. During the week dogs would still get a morning and lunchtime walk and care all afternoon and evening. I will send updates and photos throughout your dogs time with us - I am also available to pick up and drop off dogs for an additional fee. I am happy to do full day care to allow folks to go skiing or shopping or on full day outings as well.! I work in Montpelier until 3:00 pm so pets get exercise in the afternoons and weekends, and dogs get a lunchtime walk as well. I am around all of the time on weekends and all school breaks and all summer. Our house has many dog beds, crates, toys and treats. We live on many acres and dogs can be on or off leash, depending on needs. I also take dogs to local trails to walk and socialize.
