I grew up with two labradoodles and I have also cared for friends' animals while they have been away. One of my dogs has Addison's disease, so I am familiar with giving medication to pets. About: Hi there! I am 30 and I live in Springfield, VT and work in WRJ. So my radius is quite large. I have a 6 year old golden pup (as seen in photos) named Burton and also take care of my in laws cat, Middy. I grew up in Vermont on a small farm with 3 dogs (Pitbull and labs) and 2 cats. I currently have a pup, Burton. Who gets along with all dogs and people. Depending on your pets personality, I will be sure to be active with them. Our pup Burton gets 4 walks a day and typically goes for a swim once a day at a nearby kayak launch. I fully believe pets should have a significant amount of play + active time whether its a walk or drop in visit, they will have fun. I do work in WRJ from 8-5pm but I do have lunches available and we do have flexible time. I work a hybrid schedule MTW in office which is only 6 minutes from my house. I always do a walk at Thompson's Field in the morning, 1 mile walk at lunch, 1-2 mile walk at dinner and a simple walk late at night just before bed. My dog is super friendly and my roommate also loves dogs, so no matter what your dog should be preoccupied. If anything I have a large crate available to keep them safe.

Professionally, I was vet assistant at an animal clinic before returning to farm animal work. At the clinic I learned the basics of animal health care and I learned how to properly handle dogs and cats. Throughout the last twelve years I’ve farm-sat and pet-sat for numerous friends and family members! In the last year I worked at a doggy daycare and worked groups of 11-12 large dogs. I also worked in group of 15+ small dogs and "solos" (highly dog aggressive dogs). Working in that environment took me to the next level of understanding cues and dog behavior. I learned to advocate for dogs, look for health and safety warning signs and how to manage group dynamics. I am currently a *human* nurse and making time for animals because that is where I feel I really come alive. :) I believe that animals are part of the family and I will treat them like so. “Emily took great care of our two older dogs. After our initial meet and greet we felt comfortable leaving our girls in her care. We loved the daily updates and many pictures she sent and they came back to us happy and relaxed. We would definitely book Emily again in the future.”

“Steve and Keely took amazing care of my 11-month old black lab Rain. Their lab Sabra and Rain became fast friends and played together constantly during her 2-day stay. Rain had plenty of room inside and had daily walks and outside time as well. Steve sent me photos and updates throughout her stay. I have already rebooked with Steve for a weeklong trip I am taking next week. I can’t recommend him enough.”

“Dee has a wonderful way with dogs. We love having her as our “home away from home” for our two small dogs. They enjoy being there and love all the activity Dee does with them. They are both rescues so have their own insecurities and anxiety around being at a new place but Dee is really great at recognizing their boundaries. We highly recommend her and will continue to book with her when we are away.”

Mellissa accommodated me with very short notice and was very gracious and helpful and made the process very easy for me. She sent me daily reports with photographs that made me feel at ease knowing Sugar was happy and being well cared for. She was out on trails every day getting exercise and socializing with other dogs. I would not hesitate to use Mellissa services again and give her the highest recommendation.”
