About: I've never lived in a house without cats, I absolutely adore them and am very experienced in caring for them. I've dealt with all levels of socialization, from super clingy to feral, so I'm super comfortable with varying personalities and comfort levels. I've also dealt with all ages, so I'm comfortable handling senior cats as well ask young kittens, I have experience with giving medication to special needs cats as well as bottle feeding kittens.
About: In addition to caring for my own dog and cat, I've also helped with my neighbor's dog, and my sister's dogs. I've got a fully fenced in back yard that's almost a full acre. And my german shepherd is incredibly sweet and gentle around other animals. I keep my weekends free so I can hang out with your pet! With school out my 15 year old daughter is home too and is eager to help love on some new pooches. My mother is also home most of the time working, and we are used to loud dog barks! In my home I have a German shepherd upstairs full time and a pit bull mix downstairs in the afternoon. Both are sweet and energetic and love new dogs! My cat does better with people, but she knows how to stay out of dodge when its needed. We do crate our dog when we leave the house but she free roams at night, alternating between the bed and the floor and the couch as she pleases. I would require your dog to be crate trained in case I need to leave the house during a boarding session. In your home, your rule is law. Whether its feeding your cat a carefully measured amount of wet food or keeping the litter box filled exactly half way, your standards are mine and I'm happy to go the extra mile. Likewise for a doggy drop-in to walk and feed. I always pick up after my pet on a walk so your neighbors have nothing to fear from me. And I'm used to reigning in a 90lb German shepherd who wants to make friends with every neighborhood stray cat so you can rest assured that I can keep hold of your dog on a walk.

About: There have also been pets in my house and I have also made myself available to pet sit for friends and family. I am flexible in when and how to care for your smallest or largest family member. “Penny and Evan were great with our little “high anxiety” fur baby. During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. We are thrilled to have found Penny and Even and the bonus is that they live about 4 minutes from our house! We have already booked the next daycare appointment!”
About: We enjoy having a dog. We do walks, sniff games, chicken broth ice cubes for happy hour in our fenced in yard. We want your dog to feel like they are on vacation when they are with us. “Our previous sitter told me they are moving, which prompted me to search for a new sitter. I decided to try Rebecca, and am I glad I did! I was happy with our first sitter, but LuLu spent her time there just sniffing their yard and snuggling up on the couch with the sitter. She barely ate and wouldn't play with their dog. It was such a delight to see how happy LuLu was at Rebecca's place. She ran around the yard like I haven't seen her do since she was a puppy. When Rebecca thought LuLu needed a rest and brought her inside, LuLu whined to go back out, so out she went for more running around! Finally, she took a nap on the couch, then got up and ate all of her dinner. Then she settled down chewing on her toy until we came back for her. She was happy to see us, but gave Rebecca a tail wag when they said goodbye. I'm so glad LuLu found a place where she can thrive when we're gone. Now I won't hesitate to book a vacation! Rebecca was very attentive to the history I gave her about LuLu and my instructions about her routine and fears. We did a Meet & Greet on short notice, and Rebecca showed LuLu and me her back yard and inside her house. She assured me that she would never give LuLu an opportunity to run away. The way Rebecca gave me updates all day long assured me that LuLu was being well cared for and was having a great time. Rebecca is definitely Lulu's new sitter. I couldn't be happier with her care.”

About: Updated March 2026 : As of now, I have a year old mutt I adopted. She gets along great with other dogs, but I have gates to keep animals separate if they’d prefer. I have kept up to 6 dogs at a time. My love for animals began at 8 years old with my two aquatic dwarf frogs named Rocky and Elvis and my hamster, Josie. In college, I fostered sick kittens from a local shelter. My first few years of living on my own allowed me to adopt my two cats, Piper and Blue. But it wasn’t until I moved into my first house with a yard that I knew I could provide a loving home for dogs, as well. I love all shapes and sizes, but big dogs have my heart. Currently my parents own an English Lab and a Chow Chow/ German Shepherd mix. Our first dog, Molly, inspired the paw tattoo on my inner wrist. I miss her every day. As for my cats: They have a separate space- but they’ve made friends with many of my repeat clients: Belle, Butters, Nova, Larry, Leroy, Doris, and many more! I am home Sat& Sun & after work (3pm) on Monday-Friday. I have a crate here in case your pup needs one while I am at work. I have a large, fenced in yard that dogs love to run and play fetch in. My home is comfy and dogs are allowed on / in any space in my home (we share furniture in these parts). I am very responsible and have pet sat in others homes multiple times. About: Over the years, I have fostered, loved and cared for many different pets. Dogs, cats, birds, turtles, fish and crabs, rabbits & etc. I have a passion for dogs, especially! I am a strong believer in treating our pets as well as our kids!! It is very easy for me to connect with animals- that is where most of my passion comes from. I have also fed, bathed, kennel/potty trained and provided medication dogs of many different breeds, sizes, ages & temperaments. I can be extremely flexible. I am conveniently located near Downtown Roanoke, which helps me stay easily and readily available. Typically available for 2-3 check-ins/walks per day. My number one priority will be your pets safety! I will send updates and photos during every visit to reassure you that your pet is well taken care of.
About: I have had many animals throughout my years, ranging from cats, dogs, horses, goats, fish, and hamsters. I have pet sit for dogs and cats before. I give all the love and attention that is needed and more. I have much experience with walking dogs from small to big, as well as letting them out to potty and feeding them. I am an athletic person so catch will never get old ! I also love to relax so if they love cuddle time then I am all theirs! About: Hi! My name is Marissa and I am an animal lover, pet mom, and full-time teacher. I am looking for some additional income and would love to help take care of your fur baby while you are away on vacation or at work. While I do not have a lot of experience pet sitting, I have had pets my entire life and am currently a pet mom to my cat, Malachi. I am always the one that my friends/family go to if they need a pet sitter or help with their pets. I have a flexible schedule and would have plenty of time to spend time with and get to know your wonderful pet. I can't wait to hear from you and get to know your special fur baby/babies! I am currently a full time teacher, meaning I am able to care for your animal early mornings and I am off early afternoon so your pet will not have to wait until evening for care! I also have most common break/vacation times (thanksgiving, Christmas, summer, long weekends) off and have a more flexible schedule during those times. I will care for your pet as if it were my own! I make sure your pet is fed and taken care of, but I would also love to spend time with your pet so they are not lonely while you are away.

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Penny and Evan. I had a last-minute, same-day request for someone to watch my two dogs, Bella and Milo. Bella has severe anxiety (just like her mama) and takes medication three times a day, so leaving her is never easy for me. When I came across Penny and Evan’s profile and saw their picture, I immediately felt at peace. I just knew these were the people I wanted caring for my babies. They accepted my request quickly, and within a few hours I was able to bring Bella and Milo to their home. From the moment we arrived, Penny was warm, kind, and incredibly welcoming. She immediately took us to the backyard so the dogs could sniff and explore. She thoughtfully explained their setup, including a separate area in case bigger dogs were present, which gave me even more confidence in their safety and comfort. Inside, she allowed Bella and Milo to explore freely and get comfortable. She carefully gathered all of my information, emergency contacts, medication instructions, and even provided her personal number. She made sure she had mine as well. That level of thoroughness meant so much to me. When I left, I truly had zero worries. That says everything. Even though I was only gone one night, I received multiple updates, pictures, and even a video. I could see my dogs were relaxed and felt safe — which is especially important for my anxious Bella girl. Seeing her calm brought me more relief than I can explain. When I picked them up, they greeted me with all the kisses I could possibly dream of. Milo even turned back as if he wanted to say goodbye to Penny, which told me everything I needed to know. They were content on the ride home — either completely relaxed or happily worn out from their wonderful adventure! Because of Bella’s anxiety, I have often avoided traveling or visiting family. We’ve tried multiple medications and behavioral treatments over the years. Finding Penny and Evan feels like such a blessing. They reassured me that my babies were happy and that they look forward to seeing them again — and I truly believe it. If you are looking for someone who will treat your pets like their own, communicate clearly, and give you complete peace of mind, look no further. Penny and Evan are absolute gems. We will absolutely be back.”
