“Thanks to this sweet family for treating our doggo as apart of the their family. They took on a very last minute request from us, gave our dog the time of his life with park visits, and were constantly showing us pics. Very blessed to have found this sweet family. 10/10 recommend”

“We absolutely love having Katina be our dogs' boarder. She is so sweet with the animals, sends pictures/videos when we've requested them, and the dogs don't want to leave! Her set up is amazing for all of the animals as well, and the other dogs that come to her house are so nice.”

“Mark & DJ took great care of our babies. They sent us updates consistently & went the extra mile in checking what was best for both of our dogs. You can tell they have a passion for dogs (and photo skills!). We cant recommend them enough!”

The dogs were very happy and enjoyed playing with her little girls. I will definitely request Heather when we board our pups.”

“I have to admit I was very nervous leaving my dog, Zeus with Robin when we went on vacation. However, Robin was great with Zeus. She texted, and sent pictures of Zeus daily. She put all my fears to rest soon after I left, Zeus with her. If you’re looking for someone to give your dog unconditionally love while you’re away, Robin is who I recommend. I know I will be using her services again in the near future. Thank you again, Robin for taking such great care of Zeus while we were away!!!”

“Hillary was fantastic! Whaley stayed with her for 10 days and we received continuous communication and pictures. He was even hesitant to leave her house when we went to pick him up because he was so happy there.”

“Our dog had a great stay with Heather! She really helped us out when we forgot to pack his food. Would highly recommend Heather as a caretaker for your dog.”

“Charissa and Alex took exceptional care of our dog while we were out of town for a week. Not only did she clearly receive a lot of affection, they also provided her with some leash training and made sure she had lots of time for play with other dogs and plenty of time outside (the weather was surprisingly warm for December). They welcomed her to their home like she was one of their own, and we will definitely book with them again when the need arises. Thank you so much!!”

“Riley is simply the best dog sitter you can search for. She is conscientious, organized, responsive, and she loves dogs. Her way with dogs is special; she paid attention to our dog for the week we booked, and the entire time we were away, we were at ease knowing our dog was cared for like family. It is without reservation that we give the highest rating for Riley - again, simply the best!”

“Our dog Lincoln loved staying at Christine’s place! She took such good care of him, and he came home very happy! We enjoyed our vacation without having to worry about our dogs comfort of safety. Thank you Christine!”

“Hope’s home was a perfect solution for us when we visited Charlottesville. A family member has a dog allergy, so we needed to find a solution for our dog. Hope is very responsive, kind, and sends pictures of your dog enjoying their visit.”

“Mary Alice was the absolute best at caring for our Baby! She took very meticulous notes about our dog's routine and likes; she sent us frequent pictures and notes about her day, and kept a log of her activity for the days she was there. It was the first time our dog had ever been left anywhere without us, so i was anxious, but Mary Alice allayed all of that; and when we picked Koda up, it was obvious that she loved her 'vacation home'! We will definitely use her next time we travel to Gordonsville!”

About: I’ve always had animals in my younger life from cats to dogs, and even though I only have a cat I continue to love dogs. My current housing situation allows me to share dog sitting and caring of his clients dogs (ages 9 months to 14 years) for the last ten years. Since then I have asked my neighbors for tending to the needs of their dogs be it from a 5 mile walk on and off leash to a 100 yard potty break in addition to giving medications. I’m currently working part time three days a week and an occasional Saturday, so I have the time to care and interact for your furry friend. I live in a neighborhood with easy access to the Rivanna trails and a road trip access to a farm with woods in Earlysville for running in fields. I also have a very tolerant cat who actually enjoys dogs staying with me because she’s learned that visiting dogs often get a treat she’s earned one too. My house has hardwood floors on the first floor throughout access to the carpeted lower level is through a door. The dog would have free range of the house while we were at home and unless he/she is accustomed to be crated.
“Dorothy and Vernon took great care of our 6-month old puppy! We were out of town all afternoon/evening and they sent pics and videos of Willow having a great time in the yard and playing with toys inside. Would not hesitate to ask them to take care of Willow again.”

“Victoria did a wonderful job caring for my two adult male cats and ~8 week old kitten for about 5 days. She was patient and has a keen attention to detail, especially with my helicopter-parent semi-neurotic novel of a instructions write-up. Overall, Victoria did an exceptional job caring for my furry children and I would seek her services again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, Victoria!!! 🤗”

“Lisa took such amazing care of my little Rotisserie. She always shows up on time, takes fantastic pictures, and Rotisserie really appreciated her cuddles and play time! Highly recommend Lisa as a sitter. Thank you again!”

“Lissette was amazing!!! She took great care of our cats and sent us detailed updates while we were away. I know they received lots of love and attention. I gladly recommend Lissette and would use her again without hesitation!”

About: Animals have been a passion in my life as far back as I can remember. I am a pitbull mama who fell in love with the breed in my early 20s. I learned about their breed by raising a pitbull mama and daddy and their three babies. That pack shaped me into who I am today. I have worked at a pet boarding facility many years ago, and have worked at both the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA and the Fluvanna SPCA. My husband and I currently own 8 pit bulls and 6 cats. Let’s not forget the ducks and chickens! I can promise you that I will take the best care of your best friend, and treat them like my own providing them with lots of love and enrichment. I am available certain Saturdays and sometimes on Sundays. We can look at schedules on a case by case basis and customize based on individual needs. All of our dogs have GPS tracking collars on as well as invisible fence security. Our cats have Apple tags on them for safety. All of our cats and dogs are indoor animals. Safety is the most important thing to me and I assure you I will make sure I am the safest I can be with your pet.

About: I have cat sit multiple times for friends. Which means I know about cleaning out the litter, giving necessary medications, and giving all the pets needed. I understand that some cats can be timid and I know a thing or two about that so I am happy to be as patient as possible. I love cats just as much as dogs!

About: I’ve cared for cats in friends’ and family members’ homes for many years and understand that each cat has their own personality and comfort level. I’m attentive to their routines and needs — from feeding schedules and fresh water to litter box care and noticing changes in behavior or appetite. I’m very respectful of cats’ boundaries. Some enjoy attention and play, while others prefer space and quiet companionship. I’m comfortable adapting to what makes each cat feel safe and relaxed. I’m reliable with detailed instructions and committed to keeping pets comfortable in their own environment while their owners are away.
“Caroline has been so patient with helping my dog feel comfortable with a stranger in the house. She has been a wonderful communicator and genuinely cares. Thank you!”

About: I have been trusted with cat sitting for friends and family for 5 years, and have been petsitting cats professionally for the past year. I have experience with big cats too after interning at a zoo, so I can handle the spicier kitties! I provide written updates and pictures of your pet having fun after each visit!
“Thank you, Briana! Your attention and care of my two cats was absolutely wonderful. I appreciate your thoughtful notes and photos. I didn’t stress about them at all while I was away!”

“Mary Alice took amazing care of my cat, Tilly! She was super communicative -- sending multiple photos and videos of Tilly daily. She went above and beyond on play time. I'd recommend Mary Alice wholeheartedly!”

“Dakota was a great sitter! They were extremely responsive bud easy to communicate with. Dakota always uploaded pics of my pet and provided detailed updates. I would definitely book them again.”

“Nathan was so helpful! He was willing to fit me in last minute. He replied quickly to messages and even called from the house to make sure he took care of everything I needed.”
“Danielle took care of our cat, Theo, for a week and she was genuinely the best cat sitter we could’ve asked for. She was super responsive, always kept us in the loop, and showed up exactly when she said she would. Theo’s litter box was spotless every day, she even cleaned up his vomit incident, made sure he got his treats, and most importantly, spent real time with him and gave him so much love and attention. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in her care. We’d absolutely recommend Danielle to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet like family.”

About: Cats aren’t just low-maintenance dogs, they’re smart, sensitive, and full of personality. As a devoted cat owner myself, I understand the little things that matter: the specific way your cat likes to be approached (or ignored), how often their water needs to be refreshed, and when a litter box needs attention before they complain about it. Whether your cat is social and playful or more reserved and independent, I adapt to their needs. I offer: - Litter box scooping/cleaning - Feeding (wet, dry, or combo) - Fresh water - Playtime, brushing, enrichment - Medication if needed - Chill hangout time if your cat just wants quiet companionship I’ll also keep you updated with photos, notes, and any changes I notice in behavior or appetite, because I’d want the same for my own pet. I’m patient, respectful, and genuinely love earning a cat’s trust (even the grumpy ones).

About: I started my journey with dogs 4 years ago and have not looked back enjoying every moment since. I am a certified trainer who loves improving the relationship between human and dog. We have a dog yard plus 5 acres. All dogs stay in our extra bedroom, which is now considered the dog room. I personally have two dogs, a cattle dog and a husky mix. They are both very social with all other dogs. We like to have a good time here but I keep a very safe environment for the dogs, no fighting or picking on one another. NO DOG IS TURNED AWAY. If you think your dog is aggressive, I can and will evaluate them so that if possible, we will get them socializing with their own kind and having a great time. Thanks, have a good day! I train dogs for a living so I stay at my house 7 days a week besides when I work with clients and those lessons tend to run about an hour but no more than 2 hours! I have 9 years experience running my own kennel and have two dogs with a large fence so there will be no boredom here! I do prefer to kennel dogs for the night but as we get comfortable with each other they will start to earn more freedom! Pet care is my full time job and i wouldn’t have it any other way, it has been a blessing. I hope I can help make your schedule less stressful! While you’re away, let your dogs play! I have a five foot fenced in dog yard specifically for dogs. We also have another 5 acres that we will walk all client dogs on during their stay with us.-
About: Personalized Boarding & Doggy Daycare! Your dog will be treated like part of the family while you're away. I intentionally keep my numbers low so every guest receives plenty of individualized attention and supervision. I'm a homeschool mom, homemaker, and lifelong dog lover. My husband, two daughters, and three dogs make our home a fun, safe, and loving environment where someone is home most of the day. 🐾 Meet & Greets Required I require a free meet-and-greet before accepting new clients to ensure we're a great fit for each other. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! As a homemaker, I'm home with the dogs most of the day, which allows me to provide plenty of care, potty breaks, playtime, and love throughout the day. Our routine is flexible, so guest dogs can settle into a comfortable rhythm that works for them. Whether your pup enjoys playing, lounging on the couch, following people around the house, or taking frequent naps, they'll have plenty of opportunities to do so. If I leave the house, it's typically only for a short period of time. I'm happy to accommodate dogs who are crate-trained or who prefer a crate for naps, meals, or bedtime. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully supervise all interactions between guest dogs and resident dogs, and I take time to learn each dog's personality, preferences, and needs. Meals are served separately to create a calm, stress-free environment and prevent food-related conflicts. I'm happy to follow your dog's normal feeding schedule, medication routine, and any special instructions you provide. My home features a large, securely fenced yard where dogs can safely play, explore, and burn off energy under supervision. At bedtime, I do my best to maintain your dog's normal routine. Whether they sleep in a crate, on a dog bed, or in another familiar setup, I want them to feel at home during their stay.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and truly love them like family. I have hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to sweet senior dogs requiring extra patience and attention. Providing a safe, loving, and attentive environment is always my top priority. Having your beloved dog in my home means they’ll receive dedicated, around-the-clock care. I’m currently transitioning from my work-from-home position to boarding dogs full-time, which allows me to provide constant supervision, structure, and plenty of love and attention. Your pup will never feel alone and will always be treated like part of the family. Dog boarding in my home is set up in a dedicated, clean, and comfortable space in my basement. Each dog stays in a spacious 4x6, top-of-the-line kennel featuring turf grass flooring, a cozy dog bed, and a soft fleece blanket to ensure comfort and relaxation. Throughout the day, dogs receive plenty of walks, playtime, and enrichment activities in addition to regular potty breaks. Because I am transitioning to boarding full-time, I’m able to provide consistent supervision, attention, and care to ensure every pup feels safe, comfortable, and loved during their stay.
About: I am a social person. I’ll work hard and take good care of your dog. I have a dog back home. I love dogs a lot. I’m free all day Friday-Sunday. I’m a former football player so I know that I’ll be dedicated to giving your dog the best care. I truly love dogs. We have a playground for the dog here at my apartment. They have treats everywhere for pets and I believe this is a great space for a dog to be.

“We were impressed with Jessica’s care for our border collie mix Boots for a very long day care day. Boots enjoyed the fenced-in yard and romping with another visiting dog. With a lovely, flexible, positive personality, Jess made us feel assured that Boots was being well taken care of. We would highly recommend her to others and will definitely seek her services again, when we return to town and need temporary dog care.”

“Emil provided a nice experience for our two Cavachon's. This was our first experience using Rover as we began a long trip south. I admit I was a bit anxious with first time leaving dogs with someone they never met but Emil had good reviews. We used Emil's services for a half day as we visited Monticello. On our way we had car trouble and our trip was delayed and Emil was flexible moving the morning sitting to the afternoon. Our dogs seemed content when we returned.”

“Indira gets Chloe’s and Sophie’s approval 💖 My doggos were joyful when I picked them up. I got the sense they had fun all day. Such a relief to know my girls were well taken care of, during my absence. Thank you so much!!”
“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Bowie! Jayden was wonderful from start to finish. He kept us updated throughout our time away with regular messages and adorable photos of Bowie, which gave us peace of mind. It was clear that Bowie was well cared for and happy. Jayden’s communication was excellent - they were always responsive and proactive about letting us know how things were going. I came back to one very content puppy! I would absolutely book with Jayden again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter.”

“I am so blessed to have found Tamara and double blessed that she lives so close to me. Perry took to her right away and he loves her dog Ollie. An additional $5 will be added for each drop in visit and walking service, if more than 10 miles from my home. I work from home and have a family of four so someone is almost always home. I try to keep the same routine for your pet as they experience at home. I will take care of your four legged family members like they are my own and provide ongoing text updates and photos throughout their stay.

About: I have experience caring for all age ranges of cats and dogs. I have 3 years of animal welfare experience previously working in a shelter and i have always naturally been a huge animals lover. I have the ability to read animals body language really well. I connect quickly with every animal I meet! I have experience with different kinds of energy levels as well. If your dog needs a hike and does well in the car; I’m your gal!!, If they just need cuddles while we binge a tv show I can do that too! I have experience with bunnies, chickens and birds too!! I have a 3 year old dog named Ace who came to me as a puppy. I raised him and have trained him to be off leash, sit, stay, paw, and heel. (Basic commands) if you need assistance or would like for me to work with your dog in any training/ socializing way please reach out! Currently available anytime! Would love to have the ability to work with your animals and still have the time to give my animals the loving they deserve as well! I walk my dog every chance I get while working on any minor behavioral or fear based problems to insure my baby can live a full healthy happy life.

About: I have a large family dog that I have been responsible for since I was about 10 years old. She has since gotten older so I have experience with a senior dog and giving any sorts of medication (and the peanut butter necessary to get her to take it). I am no stranger to having to clean up any accidents in the house so that is a non-issue for me. I am also open to taking care of other animals like rodents or turtles or other cage creatures. I am a true and passionate animal lover! My schedule is very flexible at the moment. I am happy to give as much or little time needed for the pets. I can figure out any scheduling and details necessary with clients. I am never loud coming into a home. I always let the pets come to me unless they are hiding on purpose. I take care instructions very seriously and will follow everything exactly and will reach out if I have questions about the best way I can care for your fur friend.

About: • Most dogs like me (and i like most dogs :)) • All energy levels welcomed • I have raised 4 dogs of my own • Bachelors degree in Veterinary Bioscience • Worked in the veterinary field for the past 4 years • I’m responsible and good at time management • Even with a busy schedule, I will make sure your dog gets the attention he/she needs • No dog intimidates me ( all breeds and sizes are welcome) • I will always have your dogs best interest at heart I have 4 dogs of my own; 2 husky mixes, 1 pittie mix, and 1 beagle. My fiancé and I take care of them together, but much of the day to day things fall onto my plate. So, I have 4 very different dogs with 4 different needs, wants, and energy levels. On top of this, I also work in the veterinary field and have for the past couple years. Taking care of animals is something I literally do 24/7 and absolutely love it. With my personal pets, I make sure that all of them get love every day. Also, I try and get them some type of exercise. Living in Virginia, the weather is the biggest challenge. We go from negative temperature to triple digits within the year. In the times when the weather is being trying, I try and make sure my dogs get more mental exercise to combat the lesser physical exercise. With all that said, I would do the same with a clients pet. I would treat them as my own and give them the best quality care while they are with me.
“Dakota connects well with our dog Patrick and is able to re-direct him when he wants to just turn around and come home. Our pup can be just one small ball of over excitement and exuberance and they handle that well. Dakota has been very reliable and always lets me know if he needs to adjust the time a bit.”

“Jenn definitely clicked with my dog right away! She was able to accommodate me without much notice, and I genuinely appreciate that. A good communicator and someone that I fully trust.”

“I was so fortunate to find Melissa on Rover. She has been caring for my dog Max for nearly 2 months, and has been terrific. Given her strong experience I feel very comfortable leaving Max in her care. She also sends the cutest Rover cards! Thanks, Melissa!”

About: I have loved dogs since I was a kid! I recently have been working as a nanny and that has involved light care for pets as well, my current duties are walking the two dogs and feeding them treats and filling water bowls. I am very loving and caring. My previous job involved feeding and letting the pup out in the back yard to play and to help keep track of certain habits due to the dog having food allergies. I am so fond of animals as a whole that my future goal is to buy a house with lots of land and do free lance dog boarding! I would love to help your family with your pet’s needs! Hope to work with you soon!
“I had a last minute emergency need for a dog walker for a pup that can be afraid of walking near cars, and had never met Caroline before. Unfortunately, I could not arrange for a meetup beforehand. Caroline was accommodating and understanding when Poppy did not want to walk on the second day, so instead she played with her in our yard. Thank you Caroline for filling this massive need for us and removing a big anxiety for us!”

My house has hardwood floors on the first floor throughout access to the carpeted lower level is through a door. The dog would have free range of the house while we were at home and unless he/she is accustomed to be crated.
About: Hi there! My name is Catherine. I have grown up with dogs in my house and have always had a passion for animals. I always want to make sure your furry family members feel comfortable and loved while you’re away! I am reliable and make sure to communicate clearly when a problem arises, or just to send pictures because I know you miss your pet. I love going for walks around my neighborhood and make sure to give plenty of cuddles! I am in online school full-time, so I can your pet my full attention during the day. I am very active during the day and am never in the same spot twice, so there will be lots of activity if your dog needs it. I live in a gated community and can accommodate crated dogs. I also do not mind your dog being on the furniture! I do not currently own a pets and I live in a smoke-free household.
“Kara was easy to work with and flexible with drop off and pick up times. She truly enjoys dogs and cats, and her dog Bandit got along great with Fritz. I will be booking again with her.”

“Michelle was so amazing with our babies. They had a blast. She sent us videos and pictures each day as well as fun fandom daily updates as well which we greatly appreciated. We would recommend her to anyone in need of exceptional pet care. We know we will rebook in the future.”

“Heather did an amazing job with my rescue girl. I was a nervous wreck leaving her but had to travel for work. My girl settled right in and I got the cutest updates. Heather knows how to deal with my quirky dork of a pup. She was patient with her and made her feel like she was home. My girl is tired and happy. I will definitely use Heather in the future for my boarding needs.”

“Yana is amazing! She took such great care of my dog and sent daily pictures and updates which gave me peace of mind that he was happy and healthy while I was away. Highly recommend her!”

“Nathan is phenomenal! His drop-off and pick-up procedures are highly efficient! It allowed our big baby to transition with ease! He is attentive and provides updates based on personal preferences. Our circumstances were slightly different. He recognized our overall concern (our pup spent Christmas Day in Urgent Care!) and took a proactive approach sharing regular updates. Clyde adjusts easily with Nathan! He thoroughly enjoys the other fur friends and the spoiling he receives!”

“Tyler is the best! Tyler has sat my dog many times, and he is responsive and loves my pup! He gives my dog lots of exercise and love! This last time Tyler took care of my dog, it was right after my dog had emergency surgery. Tyler gave him his medication and made sure he was not exercising or doing stairs. I cannot say enough good things about Tyler!”
