About: I am a professional dog trainer specializing in Gun Dogs, Obedience Training, and Boarding. I run a small, clean, temperature controlled kennel from my home. Pet Care is my Full time job since retiring from the Military. My day begins at 0500 airing dogs, cleaning and sanitizing kennel spaces, and training. I am typically with the dogs until 10pm when I put them away for the night. Kennel is safe clean and temperature controlled. Dogs are walked on leash, and may even stay in my home, with my personal dogs upon client request.

Additional requests can be discussed with or without additional pricing) -Our commitment is to ensure your pets safety, emotionally and physically as if they are our own -Regular updates will be provided streamlining communication -I choose Rover over other traditional “2nd jobs”, because I want to enjoy the work we do! My personal break(s) will be scheduled based on both client and provider agreed upon schedules. The yard is flat and fully fenced in. Warmer weather will have plastic kiddo pools for dogs to cool off. If your dog weighs more than 85 pounds, I require dogs to be leashed trained and/or with a “no pull” dog harness for the safety of your pet and care taker. Meaning, dogs that continually pull excessively while on leash, will either receive short potty breaks, or only “fenced-in” activities. This will be agreed upon at initial encounter. About: I've loved dogs for the longest time and ever since I've had my own, you quickly realize they are more than a pet, they are family. My dog and I will treat your dog just like family during their visit. I succeeded well in training my dog on my own from house training, to off leash, to playing hide and seek, and I understand the important component of upholding and instilling any of your training while you're not present. As of June 30th, I no longer work remotely, but work very close to home. I still will have plenty of time to give your pup comfort and attention throughout the day. I am available most weekdays and weekends, but may become more limited depending on the season. I have 1 dog, a small Yorkshire Terrier who is known as Mr. President because he loves to greet and befriend each pet or person he sees, no matter the size. He is super friendly and playful and would love to be a great friend and playmate with your pup. I can easily crate your dog if needed with one you provide or with one of my own crates or expandale play pens. My yard is open, but there is plenty of space for fun. I enjoy long walks, so if your pup needs to get in multiple miles, I can make that happen. I have a multi level townhome. Dogs are allowed anywhere in the home except for the kitchen. If your dog loves the outdoors, i have a small deck and a small enclosed front balcony they can hang on. There are plenty of toys and puzzles, but you are of course welcome to provide their favorite toy.

I make an excellent house/petsitter due to my experience with and love for animals and my tidy and loving personality! ** I charge $45 / night for 1-6 night house stays, but have a sliding scale for longer sits (negotiable at the time of request). I am open to traveling farther distances for 1+ week sits. I am attending VCU for my MSW M-F from 8-4, so I have limited availability for midday potty breaks/check-ins during the week, but I have open availability most evenings and weekends. For boarding requests, my partner works from my home and is available to offer potty breaks/check-ins for pets while I’m at school. I’m happy with staying overnight for housesitting or sharing my home for boarding! I have the utmost care and respect for my clients pets and homes and treat them as if they were my own. If your dog struggles with severe anxiety (this is very common!) please include some of the best anxiety-reducing practices for your dog (ex. favorite blanket, hiding spots, calming treats / jackets) in their care instructions so that they can have the best time possible without their favorite human.
