About: Everyone calls me when they need a reliable and dedicated pair of hands to watch over their children. Yes, I treat every dog like a furry child. I've helped raise dogs from 6 weeks to 16 years old. The young and the old need a little more attention and I'm happy to help. Those terrible 2's just need extra attention, and I'm happy to provide that too! I love all animals and will probably treat the kids like royalty. I prefer the company of dogs than my friends, they could vouch for that! I'm both loving and also stern because I've raised both labs and pitties. They require different types of parenting techniques, and I am equipped to handle anything. I work full time, and over time when it's available. I'm happy look after our friends around town. My availability will be based around my work and my, now, 4 kiddos at home. I can adjust weekly routines to incorporate pickup/drop offs, stop in visits, after work walks, or overnight stays. I treat dogs like they are our kids. I talk to them, I cuddle with them, and I use positive reinforcement to train good habits. I've helped raise a dozen dogs and each dog likes to show you how they like to be treated. I learned this lesson the hard way when I was raising dogs and had to learn different techniques to train each of them individually. Labs learn and function much different than bulldogs and pitbulls. I treat each dog the same regardless of size or attitude. Though I may give them some attitude when mouth off, like I do with my pitty at home (lol). I'm a safety first kind of person when it comes to our kids. So I tend to lean on the side of caution and extra equipment when interacting with most dogs. I always keep extra dogs supplies in my truck at all times as I have been known to that guy who stops traffic to try to rescue a dog. I've done this probably 6 or 7 times.

About: I work full time at Shenandoah University and am joining Rover to formalize my side hustle, which Ive largely managed through word of mouth thus far. I’ve lived with dogs for about 25 of my 30 years of life - mostly hounds (most recently 2 bassets). And I’ve watched dogs of all sizes, the smallest being a chihuahua mix and the largest a Great Dane. Over the last 5 years or so, I’ve dog sat for friends, family, and connections in the Winchester area. The longest engagement was 6 weeks, but I normally do long weekends or week long jobs. All animals are different and I respect you, their owner, to tell me what’s best for your furry friend. I also will be transparent and over communicate with you so we both can be confident your animals have everything they need. I’m comfortable dispensing medication - including to the really picky ones (I can take a pill/pill pocket and sculpt it pretty much exactly the same shape and size as any mainstream kibble brand). I have experience with puppies and with our senior citizens, who both just need a little extra care and attention. I feel comfortable listening to animals and getting to know their personalities, which are all so different yet equally endearing. If they are trying to say something, though, I feel pretty confident I will notice it - especially after we’ve spent a few hours together. And, if they’re trying to say something and I don’t understand? I’ll reach out just to make sure. I just really, really love animals. I most often watch dogs but have also cared for cats, lizards, bunnies, chickens, and horses (although horses were largely just feeding and brushing/attention). I also have a rescue cat of my own, Luna, who has made me certain I’m equally a dog person AND a cat person. I work 9-5 M-F, and occasionally am tied up on weekends with happenings on campus. I can take an hour lunch (and flex a bit beyond if necessary) to visit the animals for attention and potty breaks. I am single, sober, and genuinely grateful for the work and the company. Animals have so much love to give, and i try to reciprocate that love indiscriminately. We knew our senior dog Ginger would likely be stressed: 1st from the trip, and 2nd to be left with a stranger, in an unfamiliar environment. Linda really seems to love the dogs, she had 1-2 fosters there when we arrived (not sure, as I think I only saw 1). While I'm sure it was hard on both of them, we do sincerely appreciate her taking on our dog for a few hours, so that we could attend the wedding of an old family friend. Around 5:30am, Lou is fed and I’m out the door for work (during the school year). Our daily activities are dependent on heat and water access; we enjoy the outdoors and everything it has to offer. About: I have had lots of experience with both cats and dogs, I was the primary caretaker for all of our dogs growing up and we also had a few cats! I trained my personal dog that I have now since he was a puppy so I am experienced with all age ranges. Because of my many years of experience and my easygoing personality I am very confident in caring for your dog or cat, all breeds and temperaments! I am already an active person who enjoys being outside, I go on walks regularly, so I would love to have your pet accompany me! I am on break from grad school right now so I have plenty of free time to take care of your pets! Sometimes she videoed him playing with toys her dog or interacting with her family. I was gone 10 days. I was happy to see him doing so well. He is a picky eater so I had sent cubed up chicken breast to mix with his food. When she ran out she cooked him another, which was going way above what I expected. I would definitely take my dog to Jessica again.”
