About: Hi! My husband and I own a farm in Amelia, VA with horses, sheep, chickens, and our cats and dogs. I have two rescue dogs of my own and am a complete animal lover. I work in the agriculture sector with a flexible schedule and my husband works from home full time. My schedule allows me to be home with your pets as often as they need. I have been house sitting for over 15 years and absolutely love being able to love other people’s pets like my own! My house also has a fenced in yard, and is great if your pets want to come stay with me as well. I have experience with dogs, cats, most exotic pets, horses, and any barnyard animal you could think of. We are also very experienced in senior care, and often foster for our local shelter so are used to a lot of different behaviors and dog personalities. I am available for pet sitting and farm sitting. About: I’ve grown up around multiple cats over the years that were mostly tabbies. Some were strictly indoor and some liked the best of both worlds. I started out taking care of my grandmother’s cats and then got my own when I was 11, taking care of them into their senior years. She had that cat lady instinct and taught me how to be patient and compassionate towards our feline friends. My family has rescued and loved many animals throughout our lives and I would like nothing more than to extend that love to your pets. I am available at all times as I have retired and most of my SPCA volunteer work is done from my home. If for whatever reason I am not going to be there I will make sure you will be informed prior to my absence and my husband is available in the rare instance I am not. About: My love of dogs started when I rescued my first dog. Since then, I have acquired a load of knowledge not only in how to care for them, but also how to train them. I can provide mental and physical stimulation for your furry friend and bring most of my own equipment - I can also use the tools your pet is most familiar with. I can assess your pet to determine what your pet may need for stimulation, make suggestions for daily care, and learn at least some of their body language. My dogs and I are always interacting whenever I'm home, but most of our intentional fun/training happens outdoors daily. This includes both training and walking. I also help some of my friends train their dogs whenever our schedules allow. I believe your dog should ALWAYS be in training and you can make almost any situation a training opportunity.
