“We are so happy to find someone who cares for our pup as well as we do. Hershey has found his home away from home. Deb gives us peace of mind when we have to travel. I give her a 10 star rating.”

“Sophia did a wonderful job taking care of my dog, Louie, while I was away on a trip. She made sure Louie was well taken care of and I could tell that he was very comfortable staying with her. She shared many updates and pictures which I appreciated very much. If you’re looking someone to entrust your best friend with Sophia is great!”

“Kathryn was fabulous! She was attentive to our pup, sent lots of pics of a very happy pooch and was quick responding to my texts! We will definitely be booking with her again!🤗”

“I am incredibly thankful to have discovered Joe! As someone who travels frequently, finding quality care for my dog can be an overwhelming experience. After some research, I decided to give Rover a try and stumbled upon Joe's profile. After reading the glowing reviews, I reached out to him, and I'm so glad I did! From the moment I contacted Joe, he was warm, friendly, and had a great sense of humor that immediately put me at ease. I ended up booking a four-day stay for my dog, Elsa, and it turned out to be a fantastic decision. Ironically, I found out that a friend of mine also knew him, which made me feel even more comfortable. When I picked up Elsa after her stay, I was amazed by how relaxed and happy she was. Typically, she can be anxious after a change in environment, but this time was different. She was bright, cheerful, and completely stress-free. In fact, when I dropped her off, she seemed so comfortable with Joe that she didn’t even notice I was gone! I've already scheduled more time for Elsa with Joe, and I can confidently say he will be my go-to caregiver from now on. If you're looking for someone who genuinely cares and creates a loving environment for your pets, Joe is the one! Highly recommended!”

“Hillary was fantastic! Whaley stayed with her for 10 days and we received continuous communication and pictures. He was even hesitant to leave her house when we went to pick him up because he was so happy there.”

“Our experience with Ashley was awesome! She was very responsive and on top of our booking. Ashley sent us a photo & note to keep us updated. We came back to a very happy pup, who was clearly delighted with her boarding experience. We would not hesitate to book with Ashley again.”

About: I have had animals my whole life! I’m always happy to help friends and family. Life is better with fur babies! Happy to help. I am not working so I am available anytime. I can do drop ins, in home care or at my home. I have two miniature dachshunds that love to play and a beautiful neighborhood for walks. We have gates on our stairs to keep our dogs on one level. I have a crate if needed in my home to keep your dog safe.
“Tiffanie loved my dog, took the best care of him, and I knew that by the way he interacted with her upon my return. She communicated regularly, gave him plenty of exercise and attention, and gave me the reassurance of knowing that he was well taken care of while I was away. I will absolutely rely on her again and would recommend her to everyone!”

“Alyssa and Sean are by far one of the best Rover sitters we've ever had! They helped us out in a pinch and cared for Crumpet like he was their own. We felt so at ease knowing he was in good hands. We appreciated and loved all the picture updates. We will definitely ask them if they can pet sit again when the need pops up.”

“Danielle was great. Very accommodating, pleasant, and communicative, and followed instructions carefully. Our dog seems to have had a great time. We don't need a sitter very often, but would not hesitate to use Danielle again. Thank you!”

“Jo is amazing!! She took both Hadley and CeeCee for the long weekend and they were very well taken care of. CeeCee is a little old lady who is very fearful and needy and she looked happy, well fed, well rested and loved in all of the pictures Jo sent! Hadley absolutely loves Jo and Cricket and he also came home happy!”

“Amy went above and beyond for our little Dot today! She was a life saver as she was available on such short notice. Amy is extremely knowledgeable and worked with us on maintaining consistent training, feeding schedule, and nap schedule for Dot. We are fairly new pup parents and she offered some great advice for some good training techniques to try with Dot. Amy sent us pictures and videos of Dot having a wonderful time! Amy’s property is gorgeous! If I was a dog I would want to go to Miss Amy’s! So very grateful for her and her love for animals. We are so excited we found her and will be continuing care for Dot with her.”

“We cannot say enough about the loving and caring environment created for our 🐶. She is 5 and had never stayed with anyone other than family and somehow Jani & Paul made it seem like our Lucy was with family. We cannot recommend them enough!”

“Rylee was welcomed and taken great care of. Leaving her with others is a big deal for us, Arie, Leigh and the kids took great care of her. They sent us pics and updates over the weekend, we felt very safe with her there.”

“Caitlynn is awesome! Foxtrot loves her and feels safe in her home! I would recommend her services any day! Couldn't be happier with the care she provides to my pub while I am away.”

“Sylvia did an excellent job caring for my kitties! She was punctual , followed instructions, and gave my pets the TLC they needed during my absence. Would definitely recommend!”

“Jamie was a wonderful sitter for our cat! She did all the necessary work of feeding and cleaning, but also just spent some time with him so he wasn't too lonely while we were away. We would definitely use her services again.”

“Katherin was fantastic! Super nice in person, I immediately felt very comfortable leaving Kofi in her hands for my 2 week trip out of the country. She was super at communicating and it was clear from her messages and pictures that Kofi was thriving while I was gone, which made it easy for me to enjoy my traveling more without worrying about him while I was gone. When I came back my home and most especially Kofi were in fantastic shape. He was happy to seem, but did not seem stressed or anxious at all. :) Would definitely recommend Katherin and I'll be lucky if I can have her hang out with Kofi again when needed. Thank you so much, you're a godsend!”

“Mary visited our cat for 2 days this past weekend and did a fantastic job updating us on how he was doing and on sending pictures! We had been very worried about leaving our cat home alone while he had feline influenza but Mary took great care of him and reassured us as his health improved each day. She was a blessing to our family and we will definitely hire her again in the future!!”

“Hailey comes and checks on my 5 year old Lab a couple times a week. She always gives a good recap of the visit and enforces the manners I want from my dog. I will definitely keep rebooking with her!”

“Ashley is great! This was our first time leaving our kitten for a short weekend. She was patient and flexible with him, even when he was stubborn about where he wanted to eat. Thank you!”

About: I am an experienced dog groomer with over ten years of hands-on experience caring for animals of all breeds, sizes, temperaments, and ages. My background has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior and individual needs, from playful puppies to senior pets who require extra patience and gentle care. I am passionate, reliable, and truly love what I do, and I feel grateful to be trusted with the care of others’ pets. I offer house sitting, dog walking, and drop-in check-ins, and I always strive to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away.

About: I grew up on a farm so I have always had a love for animals big or small! I typically have been around 2 or 3 dogs and love basic training, walks (or runs), and helping our furry friends feel comfortable in any setting. I work full time but am happy to take your little one on walks (or runs) before(8am) or after work(5pm) or on weekends! RAIN OR SHINE. If you need a drop in buddy to play games or just simply keep your dog/s company I am happy to be their companion. Or if you want to add a little socialization in their time at home, I am happy to bring my (large) dog to play, he’s very nice/social and always wants to meet new friends! I am happy to clean whatever is needed as well. Basically, you set the blueprint and I am happy to follow!
“An excellent experience across the board: scheduling, reliability, friendliness, and most importantly Hannah made friends with one of my cats who never lets strangers approach her. I highly recommend her services.”

“Chloe took great care of our big, energetic labs. She provided regular updates and handled everything the dogs could throw at her. Terrific sitter and we will gladly have her back!”

“Samantha was awesome! The kitties were very happy when we came home and not stressed and she did the extra little things too like watering my potted plants. I will definitely use her again and highly recommend her!!”

“Nicole and her family were warm and welcoming throughout the entire process. Great communications! My Nikko thoroughly enjoyed her stay with them. Super attentive to all her needs. About: Lifelong dog owner with decades of experience caring for dogs both big and small. I work from home and am able to provide maximum companionship and plenty of exercise. Boarders or daycare get 2-3 walks/day, dozens of photos, and lots of love of course! I provide toys, bowls, a dog bed, treats, poop bags and a backup leash. A tired dog is a good dog :) feel free to bring your pet’s crate if you’d like! I grew up with border collies and labs, then rescued my own dogs in adulthood. One of my rescues was a very sick 3-month old puppy that I raised, so I am well-versed with puppy care. I do not currently have pets living in the home, so your dogs will have the run of the place! I own my own home on a quiet circle street. My yard is an expansive quarter acre of grass with access to miles of mowed walking paths off my backyard. When a visit starts, I like to take the dogs on a “Welcome Walk” to get acquainted in neutral outdoor space. I prioritize safety and clear communication (with owners and dogs!) to create a comfortable experience for all. I look forward to taking care of your wonderful pets! I work from home, so I am flexible for drop-ins, last-minute needs, or regular walks, and can give your dog consistent companionship…and some fun of course! Rain or shine, I am happy to take them out. I provide a treats (if allowed), a dog bed, bowls, toys and backup leash (but I prefer you bring the leash your dog is familiar with!). Please feel free to bring a crate if you’d like to crate your dog! When a visit starts, I like to take the dogs on “Welcome Walk” where we get acquainted in the great outdoors. This allows me to build our bond in neutral space with plenty of positive stimulation for the dogs. I prioritize safety and clear communication (with owners and dogs!) to create a comfortable experience for all. I have used the clicker training method in the past, and do not believe in any form of domineering or physical correction. Your dog will have a stable experience here!

About: Hi! I’m a stay-at-home mom and lifelong dog lover who has been around dogs my entire life. While I’m new to Rover, caring for animals has always been a part of my home and family life. I currently have a dog of my own and understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy and loving to care for your pet. Our home is full of love, play, and attention. I have young children who have been raised around animals and are gentle, respectful, and enjoy helping give pets extra affection (with supervision, of course!). Your dog will be treated like part of the family while they’re here. Whether your pup loves to play, relax, go for walks, or simply be near people, I’ll do my best to make them feel comfortable and at home. I’m happy to follow feeding schedules, medication routines, and any special instructions to help keep your dog’s routine consistent. I know how much pets mean to their families, and my goal is to provide a safe, caring, family-oriented environment where both you and your dog can feel at ease. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend! 🐾❤️ Im currently a stay at home mom that’s trying to make some extra cash. Im flexible and can work with most schedules to ensure your pup gets the care they deserve. As a dog owner myself, I know pets are family. I’ll care for your dog as if they were my own, ensuring they receive plenty of attention, affection, and supervision in a safe home setting. If I am watching your furry friend at your home you can expect me to be professional, courteous, and respectful of your property.
“We truly appreciate Brandy! We booked very last minute with brandy. Being on vacation we brought our epileptic pup and he wasn’t coping well in a new place being alone. So we downloaded this app for the first time and booked with her while we went out. She responded when I checked on him, and sent me pictures of him while he was with her. We are even booked an extra day with her while we were here because he did so well in her care! Thank you Brandy !!”

“So happy with this host! Dogs have fun with other dogs. Comfy nap time and even a walk!!! Love the pictures!!! Could not be happier . I used to feel so guilty dropping them off at pet day cares but since I found this rover host I feel not guilt! .”

“Hillary took great care of our dog! She sent us photos to keep us updated throughout the day. She had a fenced in backyard for the dogs to play and also takes the dog on a walk!”

“Kaleb had a great time at Amy's home and playing with Sylvie her pup. The dogs had a safe time and played HARD....he is now home and fast asleep. Can you see the smile on his face? Thank you Amy for making sure Kaleb had a stress free day. We will be back definitely.....”

About: I have been a dog and cat owner/lover/advocate my whole life. I miss having my own pets so much so I pet sit during our travels and while we are home too! I’m a massage therapist and energy worker so animals LOVE my touch and calming presence. I’m very active and love long walks. I’m totally comfortable with large dogs. I have retired early so my schedule is very flexible. I am happy to travel to pet sits. I tend to do pet sitting in Florida during the months of January and February. I love having dogs and cats in my home. There is a little river behind my house and the national forest and Sherando Lake Recreation Area is just beyond the river so there’s lots of space for long walks. Pets will get lots of loving care, tons of cuddles, and undivided attention while under my care and I will walk for as long and far as your dog (or cat) wants to.
“This is our first time using an on line sitting service and Cory made it so easy, helping us feel very comfortable leaving our 6mo. old Berniedoodle for the first time. Cory obviously loves animals and we look forward to scheduling with him again.”

I am a lifelong pet lover, growing up with at least one dog and two cats in my family home at all times. I have experience dog sitting/cat sitting (both in-home and drop-in) over a number of years. I have cared for many breeds of dogs, ranging from French bulldogs to golden retrievers to mutts. I have experience caring for dogs and cats of varying temperaments and training levels, as well as puppies/kittens, aging dogs/cats, and dogs/cats with chronic illnesses. I am patient and attuned to the needs of every pet I interact with, ensuring that I respect their boundaries and make them as comfortable as possible. Lastly, I will shower them in attention and love! Due to my current jobs/schedules, I am currently unable to provide overnight bookings. However, I am flexible with my work and can check in multiple times a day on pets, including during early mornings and later into the evenings. I am well-attuned to a cats desires and bids for attention and will always honor their comfortability. If a cat is wanting attention, I will happily provide it. If they are afraid or unsure of whether or not they want interaction with me, I will happily honor that.

“Very fortunate to have Hannah taking care of my little fur ball. Was a little nervous trusting someone but she was fantastic in the transition process. Very appreciative of the prompt replies to all my questions and concerns.”

About: I've grown up with animals my entire life beginning with Mr. Blue the Himalayan Cat and Kahlua the Black Lab and all of the animals I've loved, worked with, and now become mama to in my adult life. I feel most at ease when I am around animals and consider it an honor to have the opportunity to love them as my own. Regardless of whether it’s a quick drop in or a longer stint. I can most often be found at home. Between kids, fur babies (both mine and others’) I stay pretty busy. I have a Golden Retriever who just turned 7 (though you’d never know he wasn’t still a pup) to play with and keep your baby company. There's space in my home to separate if anyone needs a break and I can easily crate if needed or desired. *Crating is for safety and comfort only, I do not use crating as as discipline. I work from home so there is plenty of room in my schedule for playtime, walks, pet-friendly outings and adventures, cuddles, feeds and/or any other specialized care your friend might require. I have an unfenced yard so any outside play will be leashed or in an enclosure. For additional safety, I keep a few dog crates on hand. They are available for pups that are crate trained, in case I need to separate, or even personal preference! Dogs are den animals so when used correctly, some of them (like ours!) love having a cozy space to relax. *Please note, I never use crates as “punishment” in our home, nor do I believe in or practice discipline of animals. I care for and love every animal the way I’d want my sweet boy loved and cared for.
About: I love all animals! I don’t have any because of my housing rules so I want to take care of your fur babies to get my animal fix! I am extremely flexible and caring. I take instructions well and am a fast learner. I am very observant, I will care for your home and pet like it was my own. I am also skilled in American Sign Language, as I am hard of hearing, and can teach your pet to respond to signs. I am also quick to respond with text in case of emergencies. I especially love puppies and kittens and am willing to clean up any messes. I am flexible on long term stay rates if you go on several day vacations. Thank you!
About: With over 50 years of pet ownership and caretaking experience as a foster through Lab Rescue of Greater Richmond, I would treat your furry friends as my own. I’ve had both dogs and cats and am comfortable administering medications and working with pets of all ages. As a retiree with no pets of my own at the moment, it’d be a great joy to take care of yours. I’m fully retired so I have plenty of time available to devote to the care and well-being of your pets. I’m happy to do scheduled drop-in visits during the day or overnights if needed throughout Augusta County. As a former foster parent, I have worked with dogs of varying comfort levels and special needs. I would take care of your pets with the same level of care and support as my own. I’m just as happy to go on a nice walk as I am to be a couch potato - whatever your pet needs, I’m here for them.

I am available every day of the week. I am able to comfortably crate dogs, along with walking them and feeding them and making sure they get the best treatment. I have two rescues that have terrible anxiety and health issues and I give them their medicine everyday and make sure they are comfortable.
About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life. I also used to work at the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center, so caring for animals is a daily thing for me while also caring for my own. The biggest dog I have experience with is a Great Dane while the smallest is a Yorkshire Terrier. I work at the Staunton VDOT office so Rover will be more of a secondary income for me, but I used to work at the animal shelter in my hometown. I work with dogs, cats, and rabbits daily but also have experience with pets including hamsters and fish. My dogs are let outside at least 6 times a day. Those times definitely being morning, noon, evening, and night and some times in between. They are crated while I’m not home but while I am with them they freely roam. They even sleep with me.
About: My family has had pets all my life, and I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 13. I have experience with pets with special health needs as well as those with busy grooming schedules. I adore both cats and dogs and will treat your pets like they’re my own. I’m a grad student from Virginia with a love for animals! Most of my classes finish in the afternoon, so I have plenty of time for your fur babies! I am confident and comfortable with both dogs and cats, and am more than happy to follow any special instructions you need me to. I can easily crate your pets as well give them medicine and stick to feeding schedules. I also love to spend time with your pets outside by going on walks and playing in the yard.
About: I have taken care of many of my friends pets, both dogs and cats and when I didn't have a pet of my own, would often borrow one! They make life so much better! Two of my references can give you first hand information about how much I loved and cared for their dogs. I work a 40 hour week in Waynesboro and depending on location of the pet, can do drop in visits before and after work and sometimes during the day (if local). I can come to your home or your dog can come to mine. I am not opposed to overnight stays. Your pet will be treated as if my own and with as much love and care as they can handle! They are more than pets, they are family!

Thank you!”

“Cory saved the day by taking Gizmo in ! He was caring, attentive and went beyond the call of duty to wear Gizmo out and relax in their beautiful home in Crozet. The mountain property is Lovely and close enough to town . So grateful to Cory for helping me out last minute and with great care and generosity go Gizmo’s never ending desire to play and play some more . Kudos to Cory and his family for making Gizmo one of their family .”

“Alexandra and Logan were wonderful with my (sometimes overly) curious terrier, Eddie! I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”

“Had a excellent experience with brand George had great time and sentbu wonderful photos of him during our trip. It was a real peace of mind given it was our first time using a outside dog sitter”

“Kara and her family were amazing with my husky! They had him for 5 days while we were out of town and I have nothing but great things to say about them. My boy was well taken care of, he was happy and communication was consistent (something I highly appreciated) They took him on walks, played with him and gave him lots of love. We totally recommend her!”

“Thank you so much for taking care of Luna! You took wonderful care of her. Will definitely have her take care of my dog again. Loved that she sent pictures all the time so I could see how Luna was doing. Thanks so much!”
