“We are so happy with Lupin's first stay with Emily! We had to go out of town for a funeral only a week after adopting Lupin so we were nervous about his reaction to a new environment so soon after bringing him home, but Emily was great and put us at ease right from the start. She kept us apprised of all his activities, including his interactions with other pets, and sent updates and pictures which let us know he was in good hands. Lupin had a great time and we are very happy with our first experience with Rover. Thank you Emily!”
“If there was a 10 star rating Marah would deserve it! I never had to worry that my fur baby was not being loved just as much as Marah’s own fur babies. My Purdy enjoyed her extended stay with Marah very much and I may occasionally just take her for a day so she can play with her new pals. I will always book with Marah any and all times I need a sitter!”

“Zeke had a wonderful stay with Rebecca! He was well cared for and comfortable being there. She took awesome care of him and I felt really good about him staying there. She kept me updated with pictures and notes. I will be using her services again!”

“Courtney & Kam were amazing! We had a super informative meet and greet in the beginning. They had my boy over Christmas and I got pictures every day. I could tell how happy he was there. When I picked him up, he was super happy to see me, but I could also tell he was kind of sad to leave them. They went on many hiking adventures and he came back just as clean. Courtney & Kam were super flexible with the time, especially when I had to extend my trip a couple days early. Overall, I would recommend them. I could tell they loved my pup with all their heart!! They were super professional and very kind. I also saw how well kept and nice their home was.”

About: The house my parents moved into when I was only 4 weeks old was unfortunately a dumping ground for unwanted animals. Before I could even walk, I was cuddling with any animal that showed up at our door. This instilled a passion within me that I can finally turn into a profession. From Rescue and fostering to training dogs and showing horses, animals have always been a huge part of my life. In addition to my Management degree, I have an Associate of Science Degree with a major in Animal Science and a specialization in Agriculture. I completed an AKC handlers’ course which focused on reading your dog’s body language to understand their needs. Being so heavily involved in rescue, I have history and experience in dealing with reactive and/or selective dogs. I have many safety features depending on the animals needs including crates, double hung baby gates and 6 ft chain link fence that is separated into two yards. I also offer pet waste removal services. Feel free to send me a note if you have any questions. After a successful 25year business management career, I am now turning my lifetime passion of animal care into a profession. This year I started up my own business, "G'MA DOES". I offer a range of services from dog walking and pet sitting to animal waste removal. I like to stay active! While I have learned a tremendous amount of knowledge from multiple trainers, what I hold most dear is the ongoing information I take in from animal behaviorists such as Cesar Millan. Remember, when you first meet a strange dog practice NO TOUCH, NO TALK, NO EYE CONTACT! *LICENSED AND INSURED* In my house we call it "FURniture" for a reason. I use the "crate and rotate" regimen as needed and for feeding. I also have baby gates at every doorway. My entire backyard is a 6 ft chain length fence and I have it separated into two secured areas for exercise. Inside, one room is a dedicated cat room for litterboxes toys etc. The other two bedrooms will be dedicated safe spaces used for play, overnight stays, or whatever the situation calls for.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all kinds ever since I adopted my fur baby. Friends and neighbors rely on me all the time for dog sitting, walking and check ins. I work from home and I’m able to give full time attention to your fur baby. I provide lots of walks and enrichment: games, puzzle toys, sniffs around the neighborhood, hikes, short and fun training sessions and more! I’ll treat your dog as mine. I have an unfenced yard and a friendly pupper to keep yours company. I live in a walkable, safe neighborhood and I’m home full time.
“Jenny is great to work with! She was able to watch my pup on rather short notice and I was so thankful for that. My frosty face Penny is pretty low maintenance except for being deaf, but that was no issue. Jenny has experience with all kinds of dogs including those with special needs. Your furbaby will be in good hands and welcoming paws with Jenny and her pups. I highly recommend Jenny and will definitely book her again in the future!”
“Karin and her family took great care of my dog. He had a great time and was very happy when I picked him up. I greatly appreciated the pictures Karon sent and her great communication.”

“Drew was amazing! She took such great care of our dog while I was out of town! She made sure to keep me posted on how she was doing with texts and pictures! She also made sure that our dog had everything she needed during her stay, would use her again in the future!”

About: I grew up on a farm taking care of all kinds of animals, but we always had a lot of cats. People tended to drop off their cats if they could no longer care for them and we always took them in. I understand that all cats are different and have different comfort levels when it comes to people and play. I personally own 4 cats and they are my whole world! I will make sure your animals are in good hands :)
“Shelly is absolutely amazing! She was incredibly sweet and caring with my princess, and communication with her was always easy and clear. This was the best experience I could have asked for. I will definitely book with her again and recommend her a thousand times over!”

“Our previous sitter told me they are moving, which prompted me to search for a new sitter. I decided to try Rebecca, and am I glad I did! I was happy with our first sitter, but LuLu spent her time there just sniffing their yard and snuggling up on the couch with the sitter. She barely ate and wouldn't play with their dog. It was such a delight to see how happy LuLu was at Rebecca's place. She ran around the yard like I haven't seen her do since she was a puppy. When Rebecca thought LuLu needed a rest and brought her inside, LuLu whined to go back out, so out she went for more running around! Finally, she took a nap on the couch, then got up and ate all of her dinner. Then she settled down chewing on her toy until we came back for her. She was happy to see us, but gave Rebecca a tail wag when they said goodbye. I'm so glad LuLu found a place where she can thrive when we're gone. Now I won't hesitate to book a vacation! Rebecca was very attentive to the history I gave her about LuLu and my instructions about her routine and fears. We did a Meet & Greet on short notice, and Rebecca showed LuLu and me her back yard and inside her house. She assured me that she would never give LuLu an opportunity to run away. The way Rebecca gave me updates all day long assured me that LuLu was being well cared for and was having a great time. Rebecca is definitely Lulu's new sitter. I couldn't be happier with her care.”

“Working with Rachel was an excellent experience. While mostly sweet, my dog Bosco can also be a stubborn jerk - especially when he's ailing - and Rachel was great with both him and me, his overprotective and constantly worrying dog mom. Bosco had an injured paw when I reached out to Rachel for a reservation and she very kindly and patiently read through my annoyingly detailed instructions about his care. She was also very accommodating when I suggested we take Bosco on a walk together before I left him with her so he could get to know her and feel comfortable around her. When Rachel had a question about Bosco because he was acting up in her care, she did the right thing and contacted me immediately. Thank you, Rachel, for taking care of Bosco for the day! After his first daycare with you, he stopped outside your building on one of our walks and refused to move. We hope you'll take care of Bosco again soon!”

“Marsh is great! I needed a last minute sitter and she was able to accommodate. Very friendly and loving atmosphere. All the animals looked healthy and happy and responded great towards her. Thank you Marah.”

“We could not have asked for a better experience with Kimberly! She’s communicative and flexible, and Wilson is happy and tired after a fun day of playing! We look forward to many more fun days for Wilson with her!”

“Emily and Ryan were very responsive, and provided kind and appropriate care to our 14 mo mini Poodle. Emily was very helpful in learning to use Rover (this was our first time). She was also very helpful in making sure we were able to meet some last minute needs. We greatly appreciate the pictures and updates during the day! We would definitely recommend Emily, and hope to use her services again soon!”

About: Edit: since beginning on Rover over a year ago, I have made many long-term clients and repeat customers that I have remained in contact with via other methods. I have kept up to 6 dogs at a time. My love for animals began at 8 years old with my two aquatic dwarf frogs named Rocky and Elvis and my hamster, Josie. In college, I fostered sick kittens from a local shelter. My first few years of living on my own allowed me to adopt my two cats, Piper and Blue. But it wasn’t until I moved into my first house with a yard that I knew I could provide a loving home for dogs, as well. I love all shapes and sizes, but big dogs have my heart. Currently my parents own an English Lab and a Chow Chow/ German Shepherd mix. Our first dog, Molly, inspired the paw tattoo on my inner wrist. I miss her every day. As for my cats: They have a separate space- but they’ve made friends with many of my repeat clients: Belle, Butters, Nova, Larry, Leroy, Doris, and many more! I am home Sat& Sun & after work (3pm) on Monday-Friday. I have a crate here in case your pup needs one while I am at work. I have a large, fenced in yard that dogs love to run and play fetch in. My home is comfy and dogs are allowed on / in any space in my home (we share furniture in these parts). I am very responsible and have pet sat in others homes multiple times. I have always appreciated the opportunity others have given me to make friends with their pet and care for them like they are my own.

About: Animals have been a part of my life since my childhood. Having both cats and dogs in my household, I have been trusted to take care of pets my entire life. I have experience in taking care of both big and small dogs, both personally and professionally taking care of pets belonging to others as well as temporarily taking care of foster animals, even those with health conditions. I have also taken care of cats my whole life, including those that live with other animals such as dogs. To me, taking care of pets is not just a profession, but is an ordinary and enjoyable part of life. I am a current student at Virginia Tech, coming back home for my winter break period, with plenty of time to spare. I am available every day to take care of pets, as I am already actively taking care of my dog, as well as my sister’s cats whenever necessary. I care for my own dog by keeping her active and healthy, through plenty of playtime and walking time. I am able to adjust to whatever my client’s needs will be, and I am available to take pets on walks to keep them active, or even just stay with them to keep them company.
