“Our 5 year old lab had a great time staying with Matt. He enjoyed playing with Matt’s dog plus the way other guests. He came home happy and TIRED. Next time we need someone to watch him we’ll definitely hope he can stay with Matt again.”

“Panda had a great time with Jennifer and her family. We appreciated the pictures and videos she sent, which showed how well Panda was being cared for. We’re very happy with the experience and hope to have Panda stay there again!”

“Michelle was AMAZING with my dog. My dog is a special needs dog. (He can't do stairs, has anxiety accidents, needs medication, etc.) I so rarely leave my dog with anyone else because of this. But Michelle didn't make any of his needs feel like a burden. Her and her family were so warm toward him and very attentive to his idiosyncrasies. He got along with the kids, who were sensitive to his need to warm up to people. He ran around the house and was so happy to be there with the family. Michelle sent updates multiple times a day with pictures/videos and a report on how he was doing: if he went to the bathroom, what he ate, and what his mood was like. I will be booking with her again and will very easily recommend!”

“Amy is a true professional and clearly loves what she does. She sent photos and videos to help prove that our little Ana had a great vacation, which helped put us at ease while we were on the other side of the world. Thanks so much!”

“Cindy is awesome and my dog came home spoiled and well loved. She sent morning and evening pictures. This is my second time using her and will use her again in the future”

“Susan was very kind and caring to my pets. She provided excellent service and she helped me out tremendously. She responded to me the same day and helped me out in a time crunch, had to run out of town for a funeral. My cats seemed very happy and couldn't get them to go back in their carriers the day I picked them up to go home! Susan saved me and I appreciate her help in such a sad time.”

“Pamela and Paul (and their dog Marlowe) are fantastic! They took amazing care of our pup, Riley. We did a meet and greet before our booking, and it was so nice to meet them and see how our pups would get along. It’s clear that they take this job very seriously and truly care about the pups as if they were their own. They have a lovely home with a fenced in backyard that the pups can run around in, and they let Riley sleep in their bed. 😊 Highly recommend!”

“Michelle did a wonderful job watching our boy Remy! He can be very shy and nervous in new environments but Michelle made him feel right at home. Loved getting the updates and photos while we were out of town. Highly recommend and will book again :)”

“Excellent! Ciara is a great communicator and sent photo updates regularly. Our pups were clearly having a great time away from home. Highly recommend and will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Highly recommend. Damacia took care of Teddy very well.. Teddy attached to her as a family member. She updated every day with his picture. Thanks Damacia 🥰”

“From start to finish, Michaela did a wonderful job watching our little dog Coco! She always responded in a timely manner and kept in touch with us, sending pictures and updates daily. We’re so grateful that Coco was loved and taken well care during our trip abroad. We would highly recommend Michaela if you should need a loving and caring pet sitter!!🥰🐾”

“Susan and her husband are great sitters. My dog can be a bit anxious and she loved being there. The have a big space, they are experienced dog sitters, and they send fantastic pictures.”

“Stacey was the ultimate sitter and I couldn't have asked for a better first experience with Rover! She scheduled time for our dogs to meet in a public area first followed by a tour of her home and yard where Sebastian would be staying. I received photos of how much fun he was having while on my trip, and to be honest I bet he's looking forward to his next stay, what with having a four legged buddy and a wrap-around, fenced-in yard for unlimited zoomies. I can't recommend Stacey enough and will be sticking with her whenever it suits going forward.”

“Myrna was great with our dog Archie!! She's very experienced with watching dogs and her house seems like a great environment for dogs to have a great time. I'd highly recommend her!”

“Jesse has done a wonderful job taking care of my 7 year old Samoyed! He provides good photo updates, his dogs are friendly, and drop-off/pick-up is always easy. I would highly recommend, and look forward to using his services again in the future.”

“My dog Molly became part of the family and had a wonderful time while I was on vacation. I felt very comfortable leaving my fur baby with Jennifer and I will definitely be booking here when I travel again!”
“Krystal and her husband were great! She was very communicative and flexible. Our cat was well cared for and had lots of fun with their cats. We will definitely schedule again in the future!”

About: Hi! My name is Olivia, and I’ve been caring for dogs and animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up around pets gave me a natural love for animals, and over the years I’ve helped care for dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I have experience with walking, feeding, playtime, administering medications, and maintaining each pet’s normal routine to help them feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. What sets me apart is the genuine love and care I give every animal. I treat every pet like family and truly enjoy spending time with them, whether that means long walks, playing fetch, or simply keeping them company in their home. I currently have a very open and flexible schedule while I wait to begin my career as an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant in late August. Because of this, I’m able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to your pets throughout the day. My flexible availability allows me to accommodate walks, drop-ins, overnight stays, and last-minute scheduling needs whenever possible. I love staying active, so spending time outdoors walking and caring for dogs is something I genuinely enjoy during this transition period before starting work. Providing a safe, loving, and trustworthy environment for pets is my top priority. I understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your pet in someone else’s care, and I always strive to create a calm, dependable, and comfortable experience for both pets and owners. I live in a pet-friendly environment with plenty of safe areas for walks and outdoor time, and I carefully follow each owner’s home instructions regarding routines, medications, feeding schedules, and special needs. I’m attentive, responsible, and communicative, and I’ll always make sure your pet receives the love, attention, and care they deserve while you’re away. 🐾

I currently work 3 days a week, so I am pretty flexible! I know my schedule well in advance. My days off are open and I can change hours around as needed. I have a 3 month old puppy who is still learning. I am comfortable reinforcing any training your pet may be learning. I want to make sure your pet feels loved and safe during my time caring for them!

About: I've taken care of cats for around 3 years. My family didn't have any cats until my sister found a stray and we love him so much. I stay at my boyfriend's house sometimes and they have 2 sweet kitties. I always want to take one home every time I go to the pet store!!
“I feel very confident that my animals are on good hands when Shannon is taking care of them. She gives them what they need, asks relevant questions, sends lots of pictures, and we return to healthy animals - kitties, bunnies, and little rodents!”

“Victoria was wonderful in taking care of the kittens! She was on time everyday and sent wonderful updates of the babes. They were well loved and cared for we are so grateful!”

“I was away for nearly a week, it was so nice to come home and find the house NOT destroyed and the cat crew WASN’T mutinous. They adore Chloe and thankfully are on their best behavior. Chloe will make sure to follow any instructions that you have, but she also genuinely cares about your furbabies. She is present with them, making sure they eat and sharing with you any potential concerns. Highly recommend!”

“Cheryl provides a loving and perfect daycare location. Her home is setup wonderfully for the dogs to roam free and lounge happily together, getting the attention and love they need while away from home. I look forward to recurring dogsitting with her.”

“Amy and Kris couldn't have been nicer people. I used their services to watch my beagle for the day while I visited Richmond. Their home was easy on and off the highway making this place ideal for visits. Bitsy spent the day with a few other nice dogs, received some delicious homemade doggy treats and got lots of love and snuggles. Thanks, we will be back again. :)”

“Myrna is a great sitter. She has taken excellent care of Starbuck. We have scheduled doggie day care and boarding. Myrna's schedule is flexible and she works with us on drop off and pickup times. We will continue to use Myrna's services.”

“We had a last minute (day of) request for our two dogs. One recently had tooth extracted and the other has allergies and separation anxiety. Alexandra cared for these needs without any complaints! Alexandra did amazing with our two dogs! One of our dogs has bad separation anxiety, but he was immediately comfortable with Alexandra and wasn’t worried about us leaving! Alexandra treats your dogs as her own. I would definitely recommend her and use her again if I end up back in the area!”

“If I could give her 10 stars I would!!! My Lily had such a great time. I really appreciated the tour of where she would be the dogs she will be around before leaving her. I felt very comfortable with leaving her there. I will absolutely use Nadia again and again ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️”

“I am so thankful to have found Allison. Not only did Allison take great care of our girl while we were away, she was flexible, and quick to communicate to our inquiries. We will definitely use her again in the future and refer her to all of our friends!”

“Katharine was so responsive and kind as I navigate a last minute work trip. Her house was obviously a pups heaven and I was so grateful that my dogs, Swoosh and Frankie, were able to stay with Katharine and Louie (x2) for a few hours. If we’re ever back in Richmond, Katharine will always be our first call!”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was little and have always been the designated pet-sitter in my neighborhood. I have watched puppies as well as elderly dogs, and am equipped to take care of their individual needs and routines! I am currently working part time and have a very flexible and open schedule. I have an active lifestyle and prefer to take multiple walks per day and will happily bring some furry company along! I also wake up early so I can make sure your pets are fed and taken care of within their normal routines. I have my own car that I am able to take over to clients’ homes to watch their pets at any times. And my own backyard is fenced and ready for boarding dogs. I have a small dachshund/yorkie mix that is very social and two sweet black cats that love company as well.
About: I've loved dogs for the longest time and ever since I've had my own, you quickly realize they are more than a pet, they are family. My dog and I will treat your dog just like family during their visit. I succeeded well in training my dog on my own from house training, to off leash, to playing hide and seek, and I understand the important component of upholding and instilling any of your training while you're not present. As of June 30th, I no longer work remotely, but work very close to home. I still will have plenty of time to give your pup comfort and attention throughout the day. I am available most weekdays and weekends, but may become more limited depending on the season. I have 1 dog, a small Yorkshire Terrier who is known as Mr. President because he loves to greet and befriend each pet or person he sees, no matter the size. He is super friendly and playful and would love to be a great friend and playmate with your pup. I can easily crate your dog if needed with one you provide or with one of my own crates or expandale play pens. My yard is open, but there is plenty of space for fun. I enjoy long walks, so if your pup needs to get in multiple miles, I can make that happen. I have a multi level townhome. Dogs are allowed anywhere in the home except for the kitchen. If your dog loves the outdoors, i have a small deck and a small enclosed front balcony they can hang on. There are plenty of toys and puzzles, but you are of course welcome to provide their favorite toy.

Whether in my home or a client’s home, I follow care instructions carefully, maintain a clean environment, provide plenty of supervision, and make sure pets feel safe, loved, and stress-free while in my care.
About: Recently moved to RVA. I've taken care of cats all my life and dogs from time to time. From back when I was a teen at home with our family cat to ones of my own I've been caring for cats all my life. I have a deep understanding of cat body language, respecting their boundaries, and providing the attention and care they need. I work from home as a software developer and am looking for something to break up my day between calls and project tasks. Being a remote worker means I don't get much excitement day to day. Let me change up my day to day by helping you out with your pets! I live in my own home with plenty of space for walks, trails nearby for exploring, and an open and clean home for time away from the sun.
About: I have taken care of multiple 8 week old pups & 8+ y/o ones as well. I would say I am trained all over the pup spectrum. About: Hello! I am looking to assist with care of your furry friends!! -Combined pet experience of 30+ years, all ages particularly seniors as well! I worked for veterinary services specializing in boarding care for 8 years through out schooling -Will ensure your home is left in the condition received with minimal housekeeping (will take trash out and clean up any pet accidents they may have due to medical conditions. Additional requests can be discussed with or without additional pricing) -Our commitment is to ensure your pets safety, emotionally and physically as if they are our own -Regular updates will be provided streamlining communication -I choose Rover over other traditional “2nd jobs”, because I want to enjoy the work we do! Looking forward to meeting you and your fur babies! I have a full-time job, however, remotely!! This allows one person at all times to care for your pets, during most hours! My personal break(s) will be scheduled based on both client and provider agreed upon schedules. For example: after evening pet care, there will be a 2-4 hour provider break for dinner and family time before returning for overnight care. Home has pvc wood vinyl for easy mess clean up. The yard is flat and fully fenced in. Warmer weather will have plastic kiddo pools for dogs to cool off. If your dog weighs more than 85 pounds, I require dogs to be leashed trained and/or with a “no pull” dog harness for the safety of your pet and care taker. Meaning, dogs that continually pull excessively while on leash, will either receive short potty breaks, or only “fenced-in” activities. This will be agreed upon at initial encounter. We understand the need to burn off energy! We want to keep everyone safe while we strive to keep the routine as close to yours as much as possible.

She was a black lab and I took care of her for 15 years. I have also watched a lot of my friend’s dogs and quite a few on Rover. So when it comes to dogs, I have a lot of experience. I am very comfortable with all dogs, from chiwawas to great danes (my family had both). I’m a very active girl and am able to keep up with anything that comes my way. I am very flexible with my working hours and have my own transportation. I really hope I can help anyone who needs assistance with their dogs/puppies :) I am a hard worker and love animals! I am a stay at home mom at the moment so I have the freedom to make my own schedule depending on what the dogs needs are. I love taking dogs for walks, sitting/petting with them, playing fetch, giving treats. I really try to talk to each owner about what their dog enjoys doing.

“Miguel and his wife were absolutely incredible! From the moment I connected with them, I could tell how genuinely kind, warm, and caring they are. My flight was delayed by four hours, and without hesitation they adjusted their schedule to accommodate me, which meant more than I can express. This was my very first time ever leaving my puppy alone, so I was naturally anxious and emotional, but they completely put my heart at ease. They sent frequent updates, photos, and sweet messages about how my puppy was doing, allowing me to truly relax and enjoy a peaceful, worry-free vacation. It was so comforting to see how loved, safe, and happy my pup was in their care — they truly treat the dogs as if they were their own. I am beyond grateful for the patience, flexibility, and genuine love they showed, and I trust them wholeheartedly. I will absolutely be using them again and highly, highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care! 🐾💕”

“Jeffrey was fantastic with my dog! He sent me lots of updates and pictures while I was away, so I was always confident that Malcolm was being well taken care of. I also appreciated that Jeffrey was happy to take Malcolm on good walks and also cuddle with him when they were just hanging out. I highly recommend this Rover!”

“Jesse has done a wonderful job taking care of my 7 year old Samoyed! He provides good photo updates, his dogs are friendly, and drop-off/pick-up is always easy. I would highly recommend, and look forward to using his services again in the future.”

“Kelsi was so awesome! We needed to modify the schedule a little and she was flexible. Kelsi sent pictures everyday which is important to us. Most importantly, our little guy was happy and calm when he got back home:). Will definitely reach out to Kelsi again!!”

“I was able to enjoy a glorious long weekend because I knew my two dogs were happy and spoiled with Emily. Both my dogs (age 7 & 6) had NEVER been boarded or kenneled before, so I was nervous that they'd be anxious and upset, but they came home absolutely happy and contented after staying with her. She was kind enough to provide twice-daily feedback about their walks, sleep schedule, and general wellbeing, and that helped me relax and enjoy myself. My dogs sleep on the bed at home, and I chose Emily because she was going to be with them at night and because she has so many repeat customers; that tells me all I need to know! Emily is worth her weight in gold. Luka and Teddy had a safe and happy get-away of their own. Thanks so much, Emily!”

“My dog Molly became part of the family and had a wonderful time while I was on vacation. I felt very comfortable leaving my fur baby with Jennifer and I will definitely be booking here when I travel again!”

“Aaren and Jordan were such fabulous sitters for my itty bitty 80lbs pittie! They sent several pics and vids throughout his 2day stay which definitely put me as ease. Highly recommend!”
