About: I grew up on a farm so I have always had a love for animals big or small! I typically have been around 2 or 3 dogs and love basic training, walks (or runs), and helping our furry friends feel comfortable in any setting. I work full time but am happy to take your little one on walks (or runs) before(8am) or after work(5pm) or on weekends! RAIN OR SHINE. If you need a drop in buddy to play games or just simply keep your dog/s company I am happy to be their companion. Or if you want to add a little socialization in their time at home, I am happy to bring my (large) dog to play, he’s very nice/social and always wants to meet new friends! About: Lifelong dog owner with decades of experience caring for dogs both big and small. I work from home and am able to provide constant care, companionship and plenty of exercise. I am happy to host dogs from different families if they are friendly, but I am also happy to host your dog(s) alone. Boarders or daycare get at least two to three 30+ min walks/day, dozens of photos, and lots of love of course! I provide toys, bowls, a dog bed, treats, poop bags and a backup leash. A tired dog is a good dog :) I grew up with border collies and labs, then rescued my own dogs in adulthood. One of my rescues was a very sick 3-month old puppy that I raised, so I am well-versed with puppy care. I do not currently have pets living in the home, so your dogs will have the run of the place! I own my own home on a quiet circle street. My yard is an expansive quarter acre of grass with access to miles of mowed walking paths. I am happy to brush the dogs after these walks, if safe and allowed. When a visit starts, I like to take the dogs on a “Welcome Walk” to get acquainted in neutral outdoor space. My six year old son is often present for a booking. He is a responsible child who has been taught to be respectful of dogs by giving them space and patience. We have firm rules that he will never climb, poke, tease or infringe on a dog’s personal space. If your booking request ends up being a time that he will be staying with me, then he enjoys participating in meet in greets to ensure everyone is a great fit :) we have yet to meet a dog we didn’t like! I provide treats (if allowed), a dog bed, bowls, toys and backup leash (but I prefer you bring the leash your dog is familiar with!). Please feel free to bring a crate if you’d like me to crate your dog. I prioritize safety and clear communication (with owners and dogs!) to create a comfortable experience for all. I have used the clicker training method in the past, and do not believe in any form of domineering or physical correction. Your dog will have a stable experience here. I love having dogs and cats in my home. There is a little river behind my house and the national forest and Sherando Lake Recreation Area is just beyond the river so there’s lots of space for long walks. I grew up with labs (mostly ) but now have Gizmo, a labrodoodle , who will soon become BDE (best dog ever) if he can finally learn how to not jump like a kangaroo when he sees his dog friends. We have over 150 acres of beautiful rolling hills conveniently located between Lynchburg and Charlottesville. During the visit, we will take your dog for relaxing on-leash walks. When they are indoors, they will have access to a large, comfortable farmhouse with loving people to keep them company. We will never let your dog off the leash outside and will always give them the highest level of supervision. I have been watching dogs for conscientious pet owners for over 12 years, and I have had a dog for many years. Since the dogs have the run of the house and we live on a farm with lots of outdoor activity, we require that dogs are treated with flea and tick medicine before arrival. She treated our puppy like her baby and provided updates and pictures multiple times a day which made us feel so safe and secure. She even made scarves and necklaces for our sweet pup and made her feel like a princess. We had an issue come up where we needed to schedule extra days and she was so kind and accommodating. She's never away from my side for more than four hours at a go, so naturally I was anxious about the idea of kenneling her when I was called away for a work weekend. Yvette and her family were fantastic with my little pup, they were easy to communicate with when it came to their needs to kennel her and sent me videos of the little one during my little ones stay. For my first time ever kenneling an animal it went smoothly, especially with her being such a young pup in the midst of being trained. I highly recommend her if you're unsure of the experience, Kylie came back happy and healthy and I'm very pleased with the experience.”
