We couldn’t have been happier. Denver was right at home, getting walks that he loves as well as plenty of chill time and attention from Jesse and Emily as well as their two girls. Jesse and Emily were great about sending us photo updates that let us know that Denver was comfy and happy. Denver is a finicky eater especially when not at home and they were great about paying attention and giving some treats here and there to get his appetite going. I’m working part time Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; so I am free before 2 pm and after 9 pm. I’m free all day Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. I’ve had a ton of experience with medication administration and am comfortable with kittens as well! I love playing with your cat and being as active with them as they want! I am a very hands-on cat sitter and find a lot of reward in seeing the shy cats slowly come out of their shells around me. While I do have one dog, she is very well behaved and does great with cats. About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats for over 20 years, pets are my passion! I am also a former Petshotel and Doggie Day Camp Manager for a national chain and have extensive experience handling dogs, cats, and small pets of all sizes and breeds. I am currently accepting small and medium sized dogs for in house day care and overnight stays. I specialize in small and delicate breed types, not usually suited for kenneling or vet boarding. All fur babies will be treated as family members while here! They can sit on the couch, sleep on the bed, and watch TV with us just like at home. Some larger "gentle giants" can be considered on a case by case basis, just reach out. I believe pets are family! All pets in my care are treated with loving and gentle guidance using only positive reinforcement. All dogs will remain on leash the entirety of their walk. We have a fenced in area off the back patio for bathroom breaks with wood chips as ground coverage. No grass of any kind for the safety of those pets with grass and skin allergies.

My schedule is quite flexible and free, though I do have to be home at night to care for my own four-legged family members While I'd love to offer care in my home, I do have my own pets and introducing new babies to the mix can be stressful for all involved. In your home, I will love on your fur babies as if they were my own. They'll have a cuddle buddy (if they choose), engaging playtime, and treats (if you choose). I also spend quite a lot of time at the gym I own in downtown Charlottesville, so if you'd be comfortable with field trips, I'd happily take them out for some extra socialization.

When they are indoors, they will have access to a large, comfortable farmhouse with loving people to keep them company. We will never let your dog off the leash outside and will always give them the highest level of supervision. I have been watching dogs for conscientious pet owners for over 12 years, and I have had a dog for many years. Since the dogs have the run of the house and we live on a farm with lots of outdoor activity, we require that dogs are treated with flea and tick medicine before arrival. I’m currently working part-time while in graduate school, so my schedule is very flexible! I am off work during the summer, so more availability ! I make sure that I am gentle and warm when first meeting pets, to build the rapport! I also ensure to implement how the owners take care of their pet, so it feels familiar!
About: I've been a pet caretaker since I was 12. Dogs quickly connect with me for play, walking and companionship- just like you were there too. I have a very flexible schedule with my JMU classes this semester so I have lots of available time to spend with your fur baby. I am currently home for summer! I am very comfortable using any style leash for walking and using crates. My time with your fur baby will focus on play, fun and comfort
About: I have had pets from day one. My family has had 4 cats, 2 dogs, hamsters, lizards, fish, and even a hedgehog!. I’m currently a Nursing student who’s past career was a veterinary technician. About: I have been a dog and cat owner/lover/advocate my whole life. I miss having my own pets so much so I pet sit during our travels and while we are home too! I’m a massage therapist and energy worker so animals LOVE my touch and calming presence. I’m very active and love long walks. I’m totally comfortable with large dogs. I have retired early so my schedule is very flexible. I am happy to travel to pet sits. I tend to do pet sitting in Florida during the months of January and February. I love having dogs and cats in my home. There is a little river behind my house and the national forest and Sherando Lake Recreation Area is just beyond the river so there’s lots of space for long walks. Pets will get lots of loving care, tons of cuddles, and undivided attention while under my care and I will walk for as long and far as your dog (or cat) wants to.

I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”
