I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”

I am also a former Petshotel and Doggie Day Camp Manager for a national chain and have extensive experience handling dogs, cats, and small pets of all sizes and breeds. I am currently accepting small and medium sized dogs for in house day care and overnight stays. I specialize in small and delicate breed types, not usually suited for kenneling or vet boarding. All fur babies will be treated as family members while here! They can sit on the couch, sleep on the bed, and watch TV with us just like at home. Some larger "gentle giants" can be considered on a case by case basis, just reach out. I believe pets are family! All pets in my care are treated with loving and gentle guidance using only positive reinforcement. All dogs will remain on leash the entirety of their walk. We have a fenced in area off the back patio for bathroom breaks with wood chips as ground coverage. No grass of any kind for the safety of those pets with grass and skin allergies.

We set up a meet and greet during which my pup, Maizy displayed some anxiety, but Tina was not deterred. She knew Maizy needed to warm up at her pace and she got some treats right away to help build up some trust! She sent pictures and really helped me feel at ease that Maizy was well cared for! About: New to Rover, but not to pet care :) I grew up with animals great and small. I've had dogs of all sizes, cats, horses, snakes, mice, chickens, and one skunk. All of my dogs are rescues, so I'm no stranger to reactive dog care and I'm well-versed in positive reinforcement training styles. I love all animals, but I've got a real soft spot for the senior babies. I recently lost my own 16 year old pittie, so I'm comfy in a space that may require a little extra effort. I'm a weightlifter in my free time, so I can easily help any size senior with any mobility issues 💜 I'm starting on Rover after losing my 13 year career in analysis to federal funding issues. My schedule is quite flexible and free, though I do have to be home at night to care for my own four-legged family members While I'd love to offer care in my home, I do have my own pets and introducing new babies to the mix can be stressful for all involved. In your home, I will love on your fur babies as if they were my own. They'll have a cuddle buddy (if they choose), engaging playtime, and treats (if you choose). I also spend quite a lot of time at the gym I own in downtown Charlottesville, so if you'd be comfortable with field trips, I'd happily take them out for some extra socialization.

About: I have loved dogs since I was a kid! I recently have been working as a nanny and that has involved light care for pets as well, my current duties are walking the two dogs and feeding them treats and filling water bowls. About: I have 2 dogs currently, and have had lots of different pets growing up. I have cat and dog sat for family and neighbors. I have also taken care of and helped out with foster kitties. About: I have been a dog and cat owner/lover/advocate my whole life. I miss having my own pets so much so I pet sit during our travels and while we are home too! I’m a massage therapist and energy worker so animals LOVE my touch and calming presence. I’m very active and love long walks. I’m totally comfortable with large dogs. I have retired early so my schedule is very flexible. I am happy to travel to pet sits. I tend to do pet sitting in Florida during the months of January and February. There is a little river behind my house and the national forest and Sherando Lake Recreation Area is just beyond the river so there’s lots of space for long walks. About: I’ve grown up with dogs, cats, and chickens. I have been responsible for taking care of them throughout my childhood. In high school, I would dog sit for neighbors and family friends. In college, I would house sit as well as walk dogs. I currently have 1 dog of my own. I have cared for elderly dogs who require additional care as well as anxious dogs that need that extra attention and reassurance. I am home for the summer before going to law school and my schedule is very open and flexible! I love spending times with dogs and animals, so I am eager to do so this summer. My personal dog is fairly anxious and attached so I care for her by crating her when leaving for more than a couple of hours as this is a safe soothing place for her. My family’s dog is less anxious so she is fine by herself. Generally, I walk them once a day through the neighborhood, occasionally take them to dog parks, and play in the backyard with them. We have a doggy door so they go in and out frequently, but I have house sat and dog sat animals in apartment complexes where I would to take them out frequently during the day.
About: I have had pets from day one. My family has had 4 cats, 2 dogs, hamsters, lizards, fish, and even a hedgehog!. I’m currently a Nursing student who’s past career was a veterinary technician. Caring for animals is my passion and I hope I get to meet your fur babies sometime and give them some extra love.
