“This is truly a professional service where I know our dogs have plenty of space and are in good, knowledgeable hands. I don’t think there is a better/more qualified boarder!!!”

About: I've watched dogs and cats with all different personalities and needs (i.e. blind, diabetic, anxious, etc.). I believe in understanding a pet's needs from the perspective of the pet and responding with compassion. I work full time, but can usually work from home if needed. I will talk with you before we commit to pet sitting to ensure my schedule works for your needs (if that's getting off early, working from home every day during the time of the sitting, going home over lunch for a walk, etc). I have no fur babies (or kids) of my own, so your babies will get my undivided attention and I will shower them with all the love I wish I could give to my own fur baby if I had one. (Know I recognize that love looks different for different critters - for some it may mean keeping a respectful distance!)
“I can tell my dog really enjoyed her time at Shannon’s house. She was a little nervous at first, but Shannon went the extra mile and slept on the couch with her to make her feel more comfortable. I will absolutely reach out to her again.”
“David and Linda were very communicative and cooperative by providing lots of updates and pictures of Chico. They took great care of my pup, spent a lot of time with him and made sure he was comfortable and happy. I highly recommend their services and will definitely go with them again in the future”

“Gretchen is OUTSTANDING!!! Gretchen kept our 5 year old sweet pup for 15 days and by the pictures she sent me throughout my trip I could tell she made him feel right at home! He absolutely loves being outside and Gretchen’s yard is the perfect place for an outdoor dog. He also loves cuddles and I could tell he was getting his fix. Gretchen was so aware of our dog and his needs and truly cared for him like he was her own. He was extremely well taken care of and loved throughout his stay. I will absolutely be calling Gretchen in the future for more stays!”

“Kurt is very caring and responsible every time we leave our Golden Retriever with him. He’s thoughtful to send us photos while we’re away and is a great communicator. Thanks Kurt, we appreciate you!”

“I’m a little offended but very impressed. 😂 When we came to pick up our pup he was visibly bummed that we were there to take him away from Samantha. He clearly had an absolute blast and immediately passed out in the car on the drive home. This was his first night away from us but we received lots of pictures and updates and felt very at peace knowing he was having fun and well cared for. Thank you for putting my dog mom mind at ease!”

“Sydney was wonderful with both my mini schnauzers. She took care of their every need and gave them lots of love. We have rebooked with her for several more dates and will continue to book with her for boarding in her home.”

“Holly was fantastic! Very accommodating for an unusual request and sent multiple photos and updates even though Millie was only with her for a few hours. I live outside of the area, but I would definitely use her again if I had the opportunity. Millie had a ball!”

“Donna is great. She took fantastic care of our Beau. Made sure he got his medicine on time. She took Beau for walks and sent pictures and texts with daily updates on Beau. She was quick to respond to any questions that we had. We would highly recommend Donna for your pet care as well as for our fur baby again. Thank you Donna for taking such good care of Beau.”

“Erin and Matthew are the best! They are reliable and have great communication. I know my pup is safe and happy when he stays with them, and it’s such a relief to not have to worry!”

“Veronica has been so great with Sam multiple times and Sam loves hanging out with her, her family, and her friendly dogs ... plus he comes back happy, and tired from all the playtime which is great, too :)”

“My Aussie always has the best time with Liz and her crew. I never have to question whether my pup is well cared for because I know she’s in the best hands. Liz is always my go-to sitter!”

“It is my first time leaving my fur babies with Marah, but I never had any doubts about leaving them in her care. I will use her in the future. My dogs were well-cared for and my puppy’s social skills are improved. A+ recommendation from me.”

“Lauren is wonderful. She went above and beyond to take care of my Yoyo who has bladder issues. She is really responsive and followed all my requests. Yoyo loved her and enjoyed her time together.”

“Katie is fantastic! She is an excellent communicator, reliable, provides detailed updates, and spends quality time bonding with and caring for your pets (even if they're not-so-friendly around "strangers.") We've worked with Katie several times now and she's been awesome every time - complete peace of mind when traveling.”

“Taylor is a life saver! I took a trip to Italy and paid my teenage neighbor to watch our cats. Halfway through the trip I got a call from a guy who found our cats and said they’d been in his yard for days. Imagine my panic while being completely unable to do anything from so far away. Time to get a new cat sitter! I contacted Taylor and she was unbelievably helpful! Even picked up one of our cats from someone else who found her. Taylor cared for them both and constantly reassured me with gorgeous photos (literally glam shots). She even printed a couple out and left them with a thank you card. I was blown away by her level of care. I will never go back, she spoiled me an and my kitties.”

“My 2 cats warmed up to Caitlin right away. Our senior cat has diabetes and can be a little hesitant. She was so good with them, very professional and caring! I would definitely recommend Caitlin!!”

“Kaylee was reliable and on time - very appreciated by our time keeping cats! She played with our cat and quickly earned her trust. She's very easy to work with her - we highly recommend her!”

“Everything went great with Natasha! I had to have my mom pick up and drop off and Natasha was so flexible. She had my two cats for a week. I got updates and pictures to let me know how they were doing which made me so much more at ease. It was my first time using Rover and she made it such a good experience! Will definitely use her again!”

About: I've been taking care of dogs and cats for neighbors, friends, and family for most of my life! I am reliable to walk, feed, clean up after, and play with pets. I have a medium sized old lady dog as a family pet and two guinea pigs of my own that I love dearly. I also help care for my friends two cats and white golden retriever often. When I'm home from college for breaks I love for this to be a source of income. My schedule is flexible and I'm willing to work with you to figure out what is best for you and your pets! Homes with fences preferred for dogs, but I love to take dogs for walks and run around the house. Keeping a safe and clean environment is extremely important to me.
“Heather made sure our menagerie was taken care of while we were gone! This included our older cat, flock of chickens, and pet rats. We really appreciated her kindness, flexibility, and communication.”

“Emily was a great sitter! She gave thorough and super cute updates after each visit along with plenty of pictures of my cat. I booked her very last minute and she immediately replied to any messages I sent, definitely would recommend!”

“We are so amazed by the care that Rita provided our boys when we were away. We knew from our initial meeting that she offers her services because she loves pets so much. We will definitely only hire her for our future needs and we recommend her without reservation!”

“Katie was great! She seems very conscientious and responsible. She grasped very quickly all of our instructions around feeding and meds. She braved the snow to make sure our cat was taken care of. Cannot say enough good things about her.”

“Jessie and her husband were absolute angels and gave the best care to my cat, Sabine. Sabine is a special needs cat who requires medication. They went the extra mile to assist her with eating since she was too nervous to eat on her own and helped her feel comfortable so much. I really appreciate these two and definitely recommend them!”

About: I take care of my friend's cat, Charlie, when she is out of town. During my junior year of undergrad I fed two cats outside of my apartment for the whole year. The two cats showed up everyday for breakfast and dinner and always hung out outside of my apartment. I had two cats when I was younger.

“Selena provided outstanding care for my tortoiseshell cat, Patches. She maintained a clean litter box, ensured Patches received her meals, and handled her sassy personality with ease. I was able to travel without worry knowing Patches was well cared for.”

“Holly is the BEST. Tuesdays are now Poncho's (and my) favorite day of the week. He has the time of his life running around the yard and playing with other pups, and is exhausted by the time I pick him up- which every puppy owner knows is the BEST feeling ever. Holly is so communicative, sends the cutest pics, and I always know Poncho is safe and spoiled with her. You need to book with her!”

“Marsh is great! I needed a last minute sitter and she was able to accommodate. Very friendly and loving atmosphere. All the animals looked healthy and happy and responded great towards her. Thank you Marah.”

“Absolutely a wonderful person and her kids are great to with my tiny pups 🐶! Even though she babysits bigger dogs, they all helped my tony pups adjust to the environment and was absolutely loved!”

“Nancy’s was great! We were in town for graduation and needed a pet sitter for a few hours to attend the ceremony. Nancy’s was very attentive and excited to take care of Chai. She was in great hands and I highly recommend her to anybody who wants extra special treatment for their pup.”

“My dog Max appeared to have a wonderful time at Richard and Kelly’s. It’s awesome to have found a place close to work and home to take him for daycare :) 100% going again !!”

About: I am a veterinarian who has dedicated her life to caring for animals. I have worked with animals from a young age, including many hours working in vet offices in high school leading up to college and vet school (became a licensed vet in 2020). I am quite comfortable with caring for animals who need medications administered, or more intense levels of care while their owners are away. Working with animals brings me joy and peace, and making sure they are happy and well cared for is my life mission. I believe in fear free handling, and I am happy to work with animals who do not trust unknown people. I am a licensed veterinarian but I am currently in grad school so I am very flexible. I can be home all day if needed, and can provide close supervision. I have a 3 year old female German Shepherd (very friendly!) and cats (mostly outdoor). I have the ability to keep my dog separate if needed but she loves playing with other dogs! I have a full sized truck and the ability to transport animals with me safely. I have 2.5 acres of fenced land for dogs to run and play as well as a small fenced in section adjacent to the house. A pet door offers come and go access to the house. I am free to drop in during the week or board animals for extended periods, and if your animal needs medications administered as part of their care I am very capable. I am comfortable handling large dogs (I have a lot of practice in my line of work as a veterinarian). I am also comfortable with young animals, cats, older animals, and any animal requiring high levels of care.
“They have been super nice and patient with my dog! I feel very comfortable leaving my dog with them and I get little updates throughout the day so I know that my dog is doing well under their care! They are also very flexible in terms of their times which I really appreciate for my schedule! Overall, really nice people who I can trust to care for my dog!”

“This was our second time using Greg and Corrie and my boy had a great time! They took so many photos, gave him snacks, and took great care of him! Mops loves going to stay with them and is has been so happy both times!”

About: I’ve been around pets my entire life and have cared for animals since I was young. Growing up with dogs taught me how important patience, consistency, and affection are in helping pets feel safe and comfortable. Whether it’s a long walk, playtime, or simply providing companionship, I’ll make sure your pet receives the same love and attention I’d give my own. I also provide plenty of attention, playtime, and follow the pet’s normal feeding schedule and routines. My goal is to make pets feel relaxed and at home while their owners are away.
“Penny and Evan were great with our little “high anxiety” fur baby. During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. We are thrilled to have found Penny and Even and the bonus is that they live about 4 minutes from our house! We have already booked the next daycare appointment!”

I love working with animals & bringing out the best in them. I currently work remotely so I am available throughout the week if your house has a strong wi-fi connection that will allow me to work from your place while petsitting. We have a fenced in yard but she gets 3 walks & some fetch training every day. Additionally, we often go to Pandapas to hike the trails.
About: I currently live with a German Shepherd (Cody) and a Black Lab (Joey). I have always had dogs growing up (mostly pugs). I love all dogs and being around them brings me so much joy! I am a graduate student at Virginia Tech studying Civil Engineering. I am available for free meet and greets to meet you and your pet! I am available to walk or check in with dogs (or cats) when I am not working on school or research. I am very loving towards dogs (and cats) and respectful of their homes. I treat everyone’s dogs and their homes with respect. I will be sure to keep your furry friend safe and happy!
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, my family had some growing up and once I moved out I got 2 of my own. I’ve also watched many neighbors and friends dogs since i was young and feel more than comfortable taking them out, administering medicine, and loving on them! Fur babies are family and should be treated as such! And that’s exactly the kind of care I would show your fur baby. Dogs are creatures of habit, so it’s important for me to know what your routine looks like so I can try my best to keep it the same. It will be as if you’re not even gone! I work from home so my days are extremely flexible. Aside from occasional meetings and needing to administer my own dog his medication three times a day (6am, 2pm and 10pm) I have an open schedule to check in on your baby. If you were to bring your dog to me, they would be in a spacious little townhome with an open yard. All I ask is that your dog is friendly with other dogs, as I have 2 at home that would be there with us. One is a staffordshire terrier/husky mix, and the other is a border collie. They all would get plenty of walks and playtime together. If I were to drop in at your home, I would take whatever care necessary! What that looks like is up to you. Taking your dog on a walk, administering medicine, playing with them, whatever you and your pet need!

“Hannah arrived on time and had an excellent repoire when first meeting our 2 dogs. She was friendly and polite, and on the day she took care of the pups she sent photos. An excellent experience! Highly recommend.”

About: I am currently a student at Virginia Tech. I have been pet sitting and taking care of dogs for ten years and have loved each and every animal I have cared for as if they were my own. I have owned dogs and cats my whole life and have trained them myself as I got older. I have experience with puppies under the age of one and will play with them until they can’t play anymore. When I care for your pets, I promise to give them as much love and affection as they get when you are there (possibly even more). Your animals are my top priority when I am caring for them, and I will love them as much as you do until you can get back to them. I am able to care for your pets any time. I will be starting school in the fall, but that will not impact the way I love and care for your pets due to the way my class schedule is structured. I have a very friendly lab that loves to play with other dogs. I ensure that when I am in someone else’s home, I am supervising the dogs while I also make sure they are getting the exercise and enrichment required for their breed and temperament. Every dog needs different treatment, and I will adjust the way I care for them based on their own needs.
About: I love animals with a passion and I am available for your dog. I have been around dogs since I was young. My dog at home loves when we play tug of war and fetch. I love the outdoors so walks won't be a dread. I also feel like the dog should be able to have some fun also. No matter the breed or age all dogs have an inner puppy that loves to loved and played with. I am not scared of any breed because all dogs are inner sweethearts. Dogs are part of the family and no matter what we all need each other to go on. I feel that could take care of all the dogs needs with no worry at all. I am currently help my dad take care of his five cats. I also walk and play with my dogs everyday. I work from home so I make my own schedule to be able to care for your pets. With my pets we are always working on some type of training. My clients would be able to ask me if I could help with anything they would want their pet to know.
About: I’ve been pet sitting for over 10 years and have a lifelong love for animals. As a dog owner myself with two dogs at home, I understand how important it is to find someone who will care for your pets the same way you do. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Whether your pet loves long walks, playing fetch, cuddling on the couch, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I’m committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, administering basic medications, potty breaks, exercise, and providing plenty of attention and affection. I also know how reassuring it is to receive updates, so I’ll send photos and messages throughout your pet’s stay or visit to give you peace of mind. My goal is to create a fun, safe, and stress-free experience for both you and your pet. I treat every animal as if they were my own, and I can’t wait to meet your furry family members! I currently do work full time but I do create my own schedule and am pretty flexible so we can work around the hours needed for you and your pet! I do currently have two male dogs who are 8 and 9 years old. They both are very friendly and very playful. They play with puppies and older dogs very well and they’re very diverse with sizes of dogs who they are around. If your dog is aggressive to other male dogs, this won’t be a good fit for you. However, i’m happy to have an introduction to make sure everyone is comfortable. We tend to take a lot of walks and play ball in the yard throughout the day. During the summer we swim in the pop up pool we have for the boys and get the zooms out!

About: It may come as a surprise that I’ve never had a pet growing up, but that hasn’t stopped my love for animals. One thing I love about pet care is that each pet has there own personality. I’ve cared for lazy dogs, hyper dogs, mean dogs, social dogs, cats who believe we work for them and the cats who insist they’re dogs. I’ve definitely seen it all. One thing I’ve learned about pet care is that you must gain trust. Each dog has their own specific, unique needs that must be met. Whether it falls down to a few more bathroom breaks throughout the day or extra tender love and care, all needs will be met with your pet in my care. As far as tangible experience, I’ve accumulated years of experience working and volunteering at several clinics and hospitals. This has afforded me the opportunities to gain experience with medical care as well. I am a huge advocate for fitness and exercise for myself and pet, so I can guarantee your pet will get lots of exercise with me.

About: I'm a third-year veterinary student at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and have worked with animals professionally for several years through both veterinary medicine and pet care. Before veterinary school, I worked as a veterinary assistant, where I helped care for hospitalized patients, assisted with treatments, and supported pets with a variety of medical needs. I've administered medications including oral medications, eye and ear medications, and topical treatments, as well as assisted with treatments such as subcutaneous fluids under veterinary supervision. That experience has made me comfortable caring for pets who need extra attention, whether that's giving medications, monitoring changes in appetite or behavior, helping senior pets stay comfortable, or noticing when something seems different from their normal. Outside of the clinic, I've provided dog walking and in-home pet sitting for dogs and cats with many different personalities and needs. Some pets need plenty of exercise and activity, while others are happiest with a calm visit, their normal routine, and some extra attention. Whether your pet needs medication support, senior care, or simply someone dependable while you're away, I bring professional animal experience and veterinary training to every visit. My veterinary school schedule varies throughout the semester, but it is planned well in advance. I keep my Rover calendar updated so my availability is always accurate. In general, I am available for early morning visits before class, evening visits after class, and most weekends. I also have additional weekday availability depending on my class schedule. If you're planning ahead for a trip, vacation, or recurring visits, send me your dates and location and I'll let you know what I can accommodate. My veterinary training has taught me to pay attention to the small changes that can matter with pets, like when a normally social dog seems withdrawn or a cat's eating habits suddenly change. If something unexpected happens, I stay calm, gather information, communicate clearly, and help determine what needs to happen next. As a VMCVM student, I'm familiar with local veterinary resources and emergency care options in the area. For walks, I take safety seriously. I check collars, harnesses, and leashes before heading out, avoid off-leash situations outside of secure fenced areas, and adjust activity based on weather, temperature, and your pet's comfort level. During summers, that also means being mindful of hot pavement and heat exposure. When caring for your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would expect from someone entering my own home. I follow your instructions, secure doors and gates after visits, bring in packages or mail if requested, and leave your home the way you expect it to be.

“This is truly a professional service where I know our dogs have plenty of space and are in good, knowledgeable hands. I don’t think there is a better/more qualified boarder!!!”

“I can tell my dog really enjoyed her time at Shannon’s house. She was a little nervous at first, but Shannon went the extra mile and slept on the couch with her to make her feel more comfortable. I will absolutely reach out to her again.”

“Highly recommend!! Kimberly was flexible with our last minute needs and is great with communicating. We felt completely safe leaving our pup and had a great pickup too. I recommend supporting her business 100%.”

“Katie is my go to trusted dog sitter, she has taken awesome care of my 2yr old lab for the last two years. She has been a life saver with putting our minds at ease that our lab is being well cared for while on vacation. Thanks Katie!!”

“We highly recommend David! This was our first time using Rover and we were nervous about leaving our dog, Olive, for a whole week with someone we didn't know. After meeting David, our fears dissipated and we felt pretty confident that Olive would enjoy her stay. David has a calm, gentle demeanor, and Olive seemed relaxed around him from the beginning. We enjoyed the daily pictures of Olive that he texted to us. We will definitely ask David again if we need someone to watch our dog!”
