I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”

“Mary and her family are AWESOME! My dog Blue is a very small papillon and can be a little shy at first. Mary and her family did such a wonderful job making Blue feel right at home. She sent tons of super cute photos and updates and her son even brushed little Blue! I know my pup was living it up at her home and I felt so comfortable leaving her there. When I picked Blue up I could tell she really acclimated to being there! Mary’s family has two sweet doggies as well so Blue got some extra doggy socialization while she was there too. I’m working part time Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; so I am free before 2 pm and after 9 pm. I’m free all day Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Feed any pets that need it, change water, take walks, potty time, keeping an eye on them, and most importantly of all play with them!

About: I’ve had a dog my entire life except for a few very lonely months in 2020 after I lost the love of my life, Romey, the naughtiest lab with the best sense of humor. I grew up with labs (mostly ) but now have Gizmo, a labrodoodle , who will soon become BDE (best dog ever) if he can finally learn how to not jump like a kangaroo when he sees his dog friends. About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats for over 20 years, pets are my passion! I am also a former Petshotel and Doggie Day Camp Manager for a national chain and have extensive experience handling dogs, cats, and small pets of all sizes and breeds. I am currently accepting small and medium sized dogs for in house day care and overnight stays. I specialize in small and delicate breed types, not usually suited for kenneling or vet boarding. All fur babies will be treated as family members while here! They can sit on the couch, sleep on the bed, and watch TV with us just like at home. All pets in my care are treated with loving and gentle guidance using only positive reinforcement. All dogs will remain on leash the entirety of their walk. We have a fenced in area off the back patio for bathroom breaks with wood chips as ground coverage. No grass of any kind for the safety of those pets with grass and skin allergies.

About: I have been a dog and cat owner/lover/advocate my whole life. I miss having my own pets so much so I pet sit during our travels and while we are home too! I’m a massage therapist and energy worker so animals LOVE my touch and calming presence. I’m very active and love long walks. I’m totally comfortable with large dogs. I have retired early so my schedule is very flexible. I am happy to travel to pet sits. I tend to do pet sitting in Florida during the months of January and February. I love having dogs and cats in my home. There is a little river behind my house and the national forest and Sherando Lake Recreation Area is just beyond the river so there’s lots of space for long walks. About: New to Rover, but not to pet care :) I grew up with animals great and small. I've had dogs of all sizes, cats, horses, snakes, mice, chickens, and one skunk. All of my dogs are rescues, so I'm no stranger to reactive dog care and I'm well-versed in positive reinforcement training styles. I love all animals, but I've got a real soft spot for the senior babies. I recently lost my own 16 year old pittie, so I'm comfy in a space that may require a little extra effort. I'm a weightlifter in my free time, so I can easily help any size senior with any mobility issues 💜 I'm starting on Rover after losing my 13 year career in analysis to federal funding issues. My schedule is quite flexible and free, though I do have to be home at night to care for my own four-legged family members While I'd love to offer care in my home, I do have my own pets and introducing new babies to the mix can be stressful for all involved. In your home, I will love on your fur babies as if they were my own. They'll have a cuddle buddy (if they choose), engaging playtime, and treats (if you choose). I also spend quite a lot of time at the gym I own in downtown Charlottesville, so if you'd be comfortable with field trips, I'd happily take them out for some extra socialization.

About: I've been a pet caretaker since I was 12. Dogs quickly connect with me for play, walking and companionship- just like you were there too. I have a very flexible schedule with my JMU classes this semester so I have lots of available time to spend with your fur baby. I am currently home for summer! I am very comfortable using any style leash for walking and using crates. My time with your fur baby will focus on play, fun and comfort
About: I have had pets from day one. My family has had 4 cats, 2 dogs, hamsters, lizards, fish, and even a hedgehog!. I’m currently a Nursing student who’s past career was a veterinary technician. Caring for animals is my passion and I hope I get to meet your fur babies sometime and give them some extra love. I have experience with dogs with special needs as well as dogs who are in rehabilitation. I am up for any task that includes a precious pup or any other fur baby that needs me. Unfortunately at this time I do not do in home boarding as I have my own little circus of fur babies who are friendly but just don’t like change.

I have 3 personal fur babies and I foster with Save Rocky The Great Dane Rescue. I am currently working part time time so I have time in my schedule to devote to your fur kids. I have a doggie door for the emergency potties and I enjoy training so that can be part of the routine. I have a fenced in yard and I am able to provide mental enrichment as well as physical walks/Sniffari adventures and I have personal pups to keeps your busy! I have the ability to crate and even do drop bys at your house if needed.
About: I have been a dog and cat owner/lover/advocate my whole life. I miss having my own pets so much so I pet sit during our travels and while we are home too! I’m a massage therapist and energy worker so animals LOVE my touch and calming presence. I’m very active and love long walks. I’m totally comfortable with large dogs. I have retired early so my schedule is very flexible. I am happy to travel to pet sits. I tend to do pet sitting in Florida during the months of January and February. I love having dogs and cats in my home. There is a little river behind my house and the national forest and Sherando Lake Recreation Area is just beyond the river so there’s lots of space for long walks. Pets will get lots of loving care, tons of cuddles, and undivided attention while under my care and I will walk for as long and far as your dog (or cat) wants to.

I am a rising 3rd year college student at the University of Virginia. I have flexibility this summer, as I am taking a summer course and doing research. I am respectful of your spaces if I were to dog sit, but live in an apartment so can not offer pet boarding long-term.

I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”
