She took care of our geriatric Golden for three days while we were away, then stepped up for an additional four days at the last moment due a a medical emergency, even buying addition food and supplements as needed. She is clearly a dog lover, and our Golden was very comfortable and well cared for with her and her two dogs. Excellent communication and lots of photos completely set our minds at ease at a time when we didn’t need any additional worries. We even got a thorough report-card and little polaroid of our Golden when we picked her up. I can’t say enough good things about Libby. Your dog would be very lucky to have her as a sitter.”

“During July 4th, we planned on going out of town for the weekend. We were impressed with Julie's rover profile and decided to contact her. We were able to meet up with her twice, once so that she could see our dog, and the second time so that Mozzie could check out her place. This was the first time since adopting him over a year ago that were had ever boarded him somewhere, so we were understandably nervous about it, but Julie proved to be a great sitter. She sent us status updates and pictures while we were away, so that we could know what Mozzie was up to. When we came to pick him up, she also helped us with tips and ideas on how to help Mozzie socialize with other dogs. We could definitely tell that Mozzie was in good hands. Definitely recommended!”
“Wow! Cindy is truly a dog whisperer! From the initial meet and greet I’ve been amazed by what a calming effect she has on my anxious dog, and how readily he responds to her. His first long stay with her over a holiday weekend went smoothly. She was clearly attuned to his needs. Cindy’s communication, including photos, was helpful and reassuring. She followed instructions to a “T” and I really appreciate the bath and brush before pickup! Thank you, Cindy!”

“This was our first time having Laura for our two Labrador Retiever rescues and from the moment she met our dogs, it was clear that we were dealing with a genuine animal lover. Her demeanor was gentle, patient, and attentive, instantly putting our pets—and us—at ease. She took the time to get to know our dogs’ personalities, quirks, and routines, asking insightful questions and listening closely to our concerns. We received daily updates, complete with photos and descriptions of how our dogs were doing. Her transparency and positivity turned what could have been a source of anxiety into a source of joy. We certainly plan on having her care for out pups again.”

About: I've had dogs since I was 5 (I'm 36). Cats I never had my own-- although I am getting kittens very soon :) -- but I have pet-sit for 2 cats of a good friends for 9 years whenever he left town. I also had a neighbor with anywhere from 7-15 cats growing up, and many (but not all) of those cats loved me. I am looking to build this into a primary source of income. I have closed weekends per the default availability, but please inquire and I will do my best to make time on weekends as well. I allow them to explore my house supervised in order to feel comfortable and knowledgeable about their surroundings. I have a space in the middle of the house that will be for pet toys / chewing / napping / etc.
“We are first time clients of rover.com and were very blessed to find Paula for boarding our 2 boy kitties for 2 weeks while we were out of the country. Paula's care was top notch and her communications with us were extremely prompt. “Cooper has such a great time when he stays with Cassandre and her family. He races up the sidewalk when I drop him off. He knows that he is going to get even more love and attention than we give him normally. In our house we joke that if he ever runs away we know we can find him across the neighborhood at Cassandre’s.”

“Adam and Amanda are the best! There are plenty of other dog sitters who live closer to me, but there’s a reason why I am willing to drive 45 minutes one way to drop off Rocky. I know he will be taken care of and loved. Which is a peace of mind for our family.”

About: I’ve been rescuing and working with animals since I was in my early teens. I’ve fostered many litters of kittens, rescued dogs and wildlife. My original dream was to be a vet but instead I’ve continued to care for animals while working for a medical technology company. I currently have a German Sheppard, 3 cats and a lovebird. In the past I’ve had gerbils, a ball python, fish, chickens and many rescue cats and dogs. I love them all so much and would have more if I had the space. -Which is why I’d love to be a part of your babies lives. I work remotely so I’m available to come walk dogs in the mornings, afternoon or evenings. I’m also happy to come house sit and provide company and all day care to your family pets. During the day, my animals are great company to me. On nice days I will work outside on the deck while Ellie and my kitties sunbathe. I would be happy to do the same with your babies.

“Elijah was great! Took wonderful care of my cat. Ran out her energy with every visit, let her take time to acclimate, and even went out on the catio with her. I can tell he’s a loving cat parent and passes that care on to his rover animals too!”

About: I've had dogs (and a cat!) my whole life and love animals so much. We lost our pup Mickey, a couple years ago and we haven't been able to get another one due to travel. When I'm not on the road I would love if our family could host your sweet one. There will be no lack of snuggles and love. We have a fenced backyard and are located in Westhampton close to St Christophers' School. Your pup will be in great hands so you can enjoy your holiday. I currently work from home so I'll be available all day for your pups. With the exception of baseball we are around all weekend as well. I have a fenced yard as well as a super walkable neighborhood in Westhampton. I do not have a crate but comfortable doing that if you wouldn't mind bringing one.
“Despite the late request, Ross answered very quickly and was able to arrange a brief meeting the same night for Murdoch and his dog to meet. The day after, we left Murdoch with Ross and Ava and everything went monthly with a few pictures of Murdoch's day. I recommend Ross and Ava !”

“I feel so lucky that we found Virginia! She took our high energy dog in very last minute and provided her with phenomenal care. Virginia was responsive and sent a ton of pictures throughout her stay, which my partner and I really appreciated. I definitely hope to book with her again in the future!”

About: Hello! I am a work from home dog parent that would love to care for your pup! I have a 5 year old golden retriever and one dog friendly cats. I also have a fenced in backyard for lots of playtime! Some things to know about Milo and I: I have been working at international non profits for the last 10 years. Milo makes a great coworker! We both love being outside especially in the river throwing the frisbee or playing catch with our buddy Petey. I have an open and flexible schedule thanks to my work from home full time job. My home is very animal friendly and I ensure it’s always clean and tightly so animals can’t get in to anything that could be dangerous. Pet saftey is my top priority. I will provide a lot of photos and updates so you are reassured your pet is safe with me!
About: Hi! I’m here to make being away from your pet feel a little easier. I know how important updates, communication, and consistency are when trusting someone with your furry family member. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable and confident while your pet is in my care. I provide dependable, attentive care tailored to your pet’s personality and routine — whether that means long walks, playtime, cuddle time, slow introductions, medication support, or simply keeping things calm and predictable. I send regular photo updates and communicate clearly so you always know how your pet is doing. I treat every pet like they’re my own and every client relationship like it matters long term, not just for one booking. I've had dogs all my life and am currently a dog mom to my sweet mixed breed. She's been with us for almost 2 years and is a joy to our household. We do not have any other animals, but I did grow up in a veritable zoo (Rabbits, birds, dogs, cats, goats, fish and chickens)! I'm happy to learn and adapt to your needs. I'm a stay at home mom and so my availability is quite flexible. I only ask that your furry baby is friendly with other kids and dogs. Your furry baby will be treated as one of my own. Each dog will join in on family playtime, walks and of course lots of scritch scratches! I'm currently a stay at home mom with both kids in school. I'll have plenty of time to care for your furry baby. I have a dog of my own, so if we are boarding or doing doggy day care, your pup will have a doggy playmate! Every dog is different, so I’d love to hear about your dog’s quirks, routines, and what helps them feel safe and comfortable. I do my best to keep things as familiar and stress-free as possible. I have a fully fenced in back yard and a dog to keep your pup company. I also have elementary aged kids in my home who are very familiar in how to handle dogs. Our dog is fully vaccinated. Our yard is free of pesticides and chemicals.
“Caroline is very friendly and responsive. She immediately clicked with my mini poodle after their first meeting. She sends great pictures and video updates so you know how your baby is doing throughout the day. I would definitely recommend her for daycare.”

About: I only host one family’s pets at a time. I have a dedicated cat bedroom: your cat will enjoy two cat trees and a view of beautiful trees, birds, and sunshine. My yard is fenced in well enough for small to medium dogs. DETAILS: I am a Richmond Public Schools teacher and a musician. A lifelong dog owner, I am the proud mama to rescue pups Bentley and Bo (who is my angel dog in heaven). I also have two charming, funny, and delightful cats — Gwen and Cricket. Because I’m on summer vacation, I have loads of availability to care for your pets, with a focus on daycare and boarding in my home. I live in a two-story, four-bedroom home with a fenced-in backyard near Westover Hills, Redd Elementary School, Lucille Brown, and Chippenham Hospital. We are close to a couple of dog parks, including Barker Field, and within a few miles of the VMFA, with plenty of green spaces to walk and relax in the fresh air. If you like, I’m happy to take your dog to Barker Field, where I will monitor your pup closely for safety. I have a large fenced backyard for safe, frequent potty breaks. Your pup will truly be cared for like my very own. Because I am a teacher, my summers are wide open for long walks, backyard playtime, cuddles on the couch, and plenty of one-on-one attention for your pets throughout the day. During the summer, I spend most of my days at home catching up on spring cleaning, gardening, yardwork, reading, and chatting on the phone. Your pet will have human companionship for most of the day, except for occasional grocery shopping and errands. I love ALL dogs and will treat your sweet one like my own. Dogs are precious to me. Boarding dogs will have non-stop loving, cuddling, and affection. If your dog prefers to sleep alone, I’ve got FOUR bedrooms with lots of comfy hiding places and multiple dog beds scattered throughout my home. My 1/4 acre yard is fenced in well enough for small and medium dogs. Your dog will enjoy hanging out with me while I garden or read on a blanket in the backyard, sniffing all the new smells.
“Deven, Tyreek, and Ozzy have been an amazing addition to Tonka's village. They are responsive, caring, and bring lots of joy to my pups life. I appreciate them immensely!”

“Matt is responsive and punctual. He goes above and beyond and has updated his house and yard to be the best pup party zone ever! My dog and I are glad we found him.”

“Ms. Paula felt just like home. Like I was leaving my baby with my parents. I was so comfortable and at ease during our visit. My child did not miss me at all and I knew she was in good hands. Haribo is an excellent helper lol. He is equally as sweet as Ms. Paula. I will definitely be using her again in the future.”

“Sorry for the late review. I've been doing the grandma thing for the past 2 weeks. I am a widow and I live alone many miles from family. My dogs, Margot and Molly, have become my life. When I learned that they were not invited to the party, I almost declined the invitation. Through a trusted friend, I learned about Rover. I took a chance and booked a time with Dawn. WOW! It's like taking your child to kindergarten for the first day and they walk away from you without looking back. I like to think the girls are good judges of character. Well Dawn took their leashes and they walked away from me without looking back They were not the least stressed when I picked them up later. They had play time with other dogs, they had their dinner and they were ready for a good night's sleep when I picked them up. I got updates on where they were and what they were doing. I couldn't be happier than I was with Dawn's care. This experience was a golden buzzer for me.”

About: I have owned animals my whole life. Since I was about 8 I was always the one responsible for their care and well being. In high school and throughout college - even now I was always the one friends and family relied on to care for their pets while on vacation or otherwise out of town. I am a college graduate and currently a full time mom and you can trust that I will be nothing but professional and responsible in your home and with your beloved pets. I work part time as a household manager and have open availability except for Monday-Thursday 4pm to 6pm so I have plenty of time to walk, play with, feed and give lots of pets to your pets! My husband works from home and will also be available to let out your dog for potty breaks if I happen to be out of the house. I am completely free on the weekends as well. Our home has a lovely fenced backyard where your dog can frolic and join us in a game of fetch. We have 1 friendly terrier who would love a doggy friend! We also have 1 reclusive cat and a 4 month old baby - please no dogs that would have issues with them in the home.
“Natalie was great! Made leaving my giant breed puppy super easy when I had a last minute family emergency. Punctual, good communication, asked good questions :)”

About: Hi! I’m a lover of all pets, young, old, big, and small! I have one dog, a 12-year-old Chesapeake retriever mix, and a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees mix. I am an experienced dog lover who you can trust to take fantastic care of your pup! Apart from taking care of your pups, I believe in good customer service; all instructions you leave me will be followed with the utmost care to keep them wagging! So when can I start? I am in school, and therefore my availability is flexible! Please reach out to me if you have any questions or need certain times for your loves! I have a townhome with two dogs and prefer to take care of your pups at your home where they feel comfortable the most! 😃
“Bruce is great. He showed up minutes before the appointed time to be certain he was not late. He thrilled the dogs with their first ride in a convertible. He sent plenty of pictures including those that look like the dogs are smiling ear to ear. He was prepared with water during the walk and gave them breaks to rest from the heat. Our yellow lab is usually restless and constantly pulling my husband but she behaved for Bruce. I would highly recommend him.”

About: I’ve always been an animal person and have experience caring for dogs, cats, and reptiles, including my own ball python. I grew up with an Australian Shepherd who can be very anxious, so I’m used to being patient with nervous pets and helping them feel safe and comfortable. I’ve pet sat for animals of all different temperaments, including a cat with a more aggressive personality, so I understand the importance of respecting each animal’s boundaries and adapting to their individual needs. I love spending time outdoors and taking walks, and I know the Richmond area well. With two years of professional housekeeping experience, I’m comfortable caring for both pets and homes with the same level of respect and attention to detail I’d want for my own. My goal is to provide dependable care for both your pet and your home, while making sure your pet feels happy, safe, and loved while you’re away! I work about 20 hours a week as an esthetician and make my own schedule, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for your pets. Because I set my own hours, I’m able to accommodate walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting throughout the week. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, so I would love to fit pet care into my routine. I believe every pet is different, so I do my best to follow their normal routine and make them feel as comfortable as possible. In a client’s home, I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and affection while keeping up with their feeding schedule and any specific instructions you provide. For cats staying in my home, I’ll provide a calm, safe environment where they can settle in at their own pace. Having lived with multiple cats of various personalities, I understand that some cats are social while others prefer their space, and I’m happy to accommodate both! I will stay in regular communication, providing updates and photos so you always know how they’re doing!

“First time ever using the app so I was really nervous about it, but DAMACIA made me feel completely at ease. She listened to all my concerns and how to take care of my sweet boy because he is hard of hearing. She took him on a walk around the neighborhood and Maximus seemed to enjoy it. Now that the walk is over my sweet boy is passed out on the couch probably for the rest of the day. Will definitely be using her services in the near future.”

“Kassie put in the extra effort to make my grumpy little old man of a dog happy! She consistently put in extra time to ensure his comfort and to keep me posted while I was away. Very appreciative of her!”

“Deven and Tyreek provided excellent care for our dog while we were away and sent photos of her every other day. We really appreciated the piece of mind they provided so that we could enjoy ourselves!”

“Raye is literally the best care we could ever found for our little escape artist. She’s super kind, caring, sweet and very transparent with her methods and care. Highly recommended! Gracias Raye!!!!”

About: Hello! Our names are Darling and Kolby. We have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and a wide variety of breeds. We have plenty of space to host your dog, including a fully fenced yard where they can safely play and explore. We currently have two cats and a Golden Aussie of our own, and we grew up surrounded by animals such as Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, Chihuahuas, Poodles, and more. Because of this, we are very comfortable managing a multi-pet household. If your pet has any allergies or special dietary needs, we are happy to accommodate them. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about your pet while you’re away, we’d be happy to help! I work remotely so I am able to spend more time with my dog during the day, and he gets to play in the yard for the majority of the day. We provide lots of exercise with yard play, walks and trips to the dog park. As well as mentally stimulating activities that our dog requires.

“Jeff was great to work with! He responded quickly to all messages and was flexible with drop off and pick up times. He provided daily photo or video updates and Carmen felt good when she got home. We will definitely request him again!”

“Cyndi was so good with our small, skittish, anxious dog that doesn’t like to be away from his people and who is dog reactive. She provided regular updates and photos and answered any questions before the stay.”

“Rachel was an absolute lifesaver! She stepped in at the last minute after our original sitter canceled, and we couldn’t have been more grateful. She was incredibly flexible, kept us updated with messages and photos, and made us feel at ease knowing our pups were in good hands. She also has two dogs of her own, and they got along great with ours, which made the experience even better. Our dogs came home happy and well cared for. We would definitely book with Rachel again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

“Dawn is an absolutely awesome human being and host for our dog Rocky. She always keeps us informed with photos and texts while Rocky is with her. Thank you Dawn!!!”

“Abby was great with my dogs. She kept me informed throughout the entire trip and was vigilant in keeping my dog with addisons disease healthy. She went above and beyond to ensure they had a good stay.”
