“This is such a sweet family that took such great care of my black lab Mika! My puppy loves going and does so well! They were so sweet to keep me updated during her stay! Would highly recommend them!”

“Aquilla was great! I needed a last minute sitter for my cat for my graduation. She was awesome and easy to work with. Communication was great and always responded! Thank you so much!!”

“Casey and her family took exceptional care of my fur baby Scottie. She sent pictures and updates through out his stay. Scottie was in amazing hands and his routines were kept up with (much needed for his age). They even made the sweetest note cards for me at pick up. Drop off and pick up was great. Thank you Casey and family! ♥️”

“This was our second time engaging with Samantha. She is very communicative regarding dropoff and pickup schedules as well as sending daily updates and pictures or videos of our pup. We will definitely reach out to her the next time we need a sitter.”

“Dana did a great job of watching our little bichon, Oscar, who got a lot of personalized attention and was welcomed into their family life just like their own dog (who is also super cute and who Oscar got along with great). I would happily book with Dana again.”

“My big boy had the pleasure of staying with Furry Friends Academy over the weekend as I had to travel out of town for family business! Let me say I was very hesitant about using Rover but was in a bind so I did and I’m so glad I did! My big boy had the best time of his life! He got to socialize with other people, dogs and became really good friends with another GSD! I got so many updated pictures it was as if he was with me! Then I literally just got these picture they took of him! I must say I am beyond impressed with the level of care and love he got! If you are in need of a pet sitter I can recommend them! #germanshepherdpuppy”

“Katie goes beyond with my Gabe. Katie sent updates and pictures during his stay. You know your pet is in the best hands they can be in without you. She includes your fur babies in family functions and your fur baby will become part of the family during their stay. We will be booking again.”

“I had surgery so I found Chantel to watch my two dogs for two weeks. Well, what turned into two weeks turned into four weeks total and Chantel was very gracious to keep my two dogs for another two weeks, which was quite unexpected. Chantel did a very good job in meeting their needs and keeping me informed of how they were doing. I would highly recommend Chantel in the future.”

“Great communication about Lulu and how she was doing while away! Lulu was comfortable with Wendy from the moment she met her. Thank you for taking great care of her while we were away!”

“Wonderful people, with a great setup for the dogs! Our dog had a blast and came home super happy. Christopher and Gina are great with communication too. We will definitely try to plan with them again in the future.”

“We've booked Falen twice now and have been happy with our dogs' care both times. She's very responsive, communicative, and accommodating, and the dogs seem happy to stay. We knew both times that they were in good hands and it was one less stress on our minds during our travels.”

About: I have had a variety of animals my whole life! I absolutely love being around animals and spending time with them. I have taken care of dogs of all ages, all the way from newborn to seniors! I am available on weekdays only. I do work a breakfast shift (5am-11am) Wednesday to Saturday. However, I am available the rest of the day! I will have plenty of time to tend to your animals and take care of their needs. I have a very large unfenced yard that would be great for leashed activities like walking and going potty. I also have a fenced area that’s perfect for some unleashed outdoor time. I would keep any pets inside most of the time to ensure safety while I am with them. I do have a crate that I could keep your pet in while I am at work (if your baby is crate trained). All animals are allowed to roam the house and sleep in the bed if that’s allowed at home!
About: We breed and train Chesapeake Bay Retrievers that are raised for Hunting, Hunt Tests, Obedience, and for conformation(shows). We have been involved with many breeds including Great Danes, Setters, Retrievers, and even Mutt Mixes. We start the day before sunrise to let the dogs out for a run and feed them. Around lunch time the pups are let out to play and exercise some more. We feed animals again around sunset or about 12 hours from their breakfast meal and let them exercise and play. One more outing before we go to bed where we always check in with our "puppy cams" before nodding off to sleep. Your dogs will be exercised multiple times a day on the farm on an adventure that changes based on the weather. In the summer we put a kiddie pool out for them to play in which we keep nice and clean. Some warm days we may take the dogs on a hike to the creek in the summer time where they can run around and have fun, other days it may be an outing around the fenced in areas. Any specific medical needs will be taken care of based on their needs and within our abilities. We will exercise them individually unless we are informed otherwise on their play pals.
“Kasalyn was absolutely wonderful. She took great care of Addyson and Addyson had a great time. Kasalyn was very kind, made me feel comfortable and eased my mind about leaving my baby. She also send lots of awesome pictures and updates. Thanks for all you did Kasalyn😊”

“We are very picky about with whom we leave our lab Jack. Meeting Danielle in person was very reassuring because she is a combination of energy and friendliness. I suspect Jack had as much fun playing with Danielle's dogs as we did on our mini-getaway. We intend to use Danielle in the future as the need arises and we give her our highest recommendation. I don't always leave online reviews but my wife and I really like Danielle.”

“Ashley did a wonderful job taking care of our cats. We received photos of her daily visits and updates on how they were doing. It was such a relief to know she was there while we were on vacation. She communicates clearly, loves animals, reliable, and is very sweet. We are so glad to have found her to help us with our pets!”
“Melissa was a fantastic cat sitter! She is a very caring individual who took very good care of our "baby", and was very kind, considerate and timely. She definitely has a great love of animals, and our cat was very well taken care of and loved. We would absolutely ask her to care for our cat in the future!”

“Wonderful! Reese is a great pet sitter. She touched base and kept me in the loop with my two cats and how they were doing each day with several pics. She even got my timid cat out to play each day and this is extraordinary. Can’t recommend enough!”

About: I have two small dogs who are my world. I love all types of pets, but can make room in my schedule and heart to take care of your dogs and cats. I will board dogs, but can only stop in and check on your cats. I am currently retired and only work some part-time jobs. I am pretty flexible and will work with families to take care of your precious pets. I have a large farm and home and will crate your dogs as needed. They will love the open space for walks and play. I will keep all pets separated for a more stress-free experience.
“We can’t say enough great things about Brittney. Our cats are very shy and don’t typically come out when someone comes by the house, but when Brittney came, they were happy to come out and see her. Brittney was extremely communicative prior to and during the visit, and she provided extra notes about the cats and the house. If we could give more than five stars, we would, we highly, highly recommend working with Brittney!”
About: With a lifetime of experience around animals - growing up on a farm and working in a vet's office - I bring both a wealth of knowledge and gentle touch to every pet I meet. I'm especially experienced with senior pet care, have a knack for puppy training, and even have a special place in my heart for unique breeds - have always had a Sphynx cat at home. Above all, I'm reliable, warm, and absolutely dedicated to making sure your furry (or furless!) friends feel safe and loved in their own home. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine because I structure my schedule around providing dedicated, reliable time for each pet I look after. While I'm currently focusing on building my pet care services, I plan my availability thoughtfully to make sure every client gets the attention they need. In every client's home, I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and familiar environment for their pets. I take the time to understand each pet's routine and preferences, ensuring they feel secure and at ease while in my care. My approach is always about building trust - both with the pets and their owners - so that everyone feels confident and comfortable throughout the entire pet care experience.

“Layman was a lifesaver when we needed a last minute dog sitter to attend our son’s graduation. She was flexible with the timing of our return as we knew traffic could be bad getting back. Our Bella seemed comfortable with Layna and got along with her dog Chance.”

“Dana was wonderfully kind and welcoming to our Rocky. Dana’s dog Joby was a great playmate as we was greeted at the door by the two of them together when we returned. Dana had everything including a great personality. Thank you Dana! We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.”

About: Rover says "What sets you apart from other sitters?" My answer is simple. Find me at :KolorfulK9(.)com: Rover takes nearly 20% of the final price you pay, so I get 20% less income. 🩷 Geriatric and Special Needs Care if my specialty when it comes to pets. While I will happily accept ALL dogs under 30lbs, I specialize in elderly pets/special needs pets who don't do well in boarding situations and need extra care throughout the day. I'm well-versed in administering oral medication, injections, and even subcutaneous fluids as needed. I am available 24hrs a day for potty breaks and medication routines. I am currently the only sitter in the western area of VA that is certified through the Professional Animal Care Certification Council, a 3rd party certification. This means they do not offer any classes or teaching, but only offer the test, which costs around $400. I am also a member of the International Boarding & Pet Services Association and the International Association of Canine Professionals. I carry Pet Sitting Insurance as well. All in all, I love pets of all ages and sizes. The older ones, the smaller ones, and the ones who need just a little extra care have my heart a little more. (Please note that this site keeps over 20% of my earnings, so I do charge a bit more to book through Rover vs my personal one of KolorfulK9 ) I have availability for the following pups: all pups under 40 lbs, elderly pets of any size, and special-needs pets. I am home most of the day; when I am not, my husband is available to feed/medicate as needed. There will never be a time when your pet is left alone for more than an hour or two at a time (such as needing to run errands or going out for a quick dinner). Next, Rover asks me how I care for pets in my home. My home schedule: I am a homebody, so whenever I am not at work, you can usually find me at home relaxing with my dogs in our 'dog' room, watching Netflix, reading a book, or playing some video games on my computer. Your pup would be right there along with us, relaxing and getting all kinds of love. I am a traveling dog photographer, and if I'm home I rarely leave as I travel enough when working haha! I offer overnight stays in my home specifically for: Elderly pups and pups of all ages with special needs (Under 40lbs) who would not do well in a boarding facility. Your pups would be the center of attention in the house while they were here. We do have cats in the house, so please let us know if your pup has any issues with smaller animals. If so, we can still accommodate them, we would just have them in our dog-only area! I have a 'dog room' at home with a couch for relaxing and reading or gaming/watching Disney+ on our large screen TV, an echo dot that will play calming classical music while I am out of the room, and a padded floor with lots of rugs around for the older pups. When we aren't hanging out in that room, our house has hardwood floors with many rugs to keep paws stable, and tons of dog beds(of all sizes) scattered around for comfort. For potty times, I have a spacious fenced-in yard with plenty of shade! Meal times are at your pet's schedule! I make sure to follow any feeding and medication schedules you provide. My husband works from home, so if I am delayed due to traffic from an errand or such, he can let the pups out to potty or give time-sensitive medications/feedings. Pups are crated or placed in a separate room for Meal times and during Potty rotations to ensure no one gets too rowdy and no one becomes aggressive over their food. Please feel free to reach out with any specific questions about our day-to-day! I am happy to answer any inquiries.
“Absolutely wonderful from the very first day. My little man can't wait to go to daycare every day! Chantal has a caring and and loving manner with dogs of all ages. HIGHLY recommend!”

About: I have always had a dog since I was a baby. I love all animals! Friends and family have always asked me to dog sit while away on vacation. I currently work full time from home so I can watch them during the week day in my home and let out for potty breaks often! I can go to your home on weekends anytime and during the week after 4 pm. I have 2 very friendly dogs who love fur friends! And we have one girl who only loves her fur siblings but she keeps to herself and I will keep her separated from your animal. I have 42 acres to take your dog on long walks and play in our field. I will leash walk your dog at my house. We do let our dogs sleep in our bed so if your fur baby is used to that they are more then welcomed to sleep in our bed. If not we have an extra crate for night time.
About: I grew up on a working farm, so I've cared for all kinds of animals throughout my life. My family and I bred, raised, and sold labrador puppies for many years. Neighbors and friends have also relied on me to feed, walk, and house sit their pets. I am a stay at home mom, so my schedule is flexible allowing me to cater to your timeline. About: Animals have always been a central part of my life. As a pet owner myself, I understand that our pets are family members, not just animals. My personal dogs receive the same love, attention, and care that I would want for any pet entrusted to me. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have more than 15 years of hands-on experience with dogs and cats, including owning and operating a nonprofit animal rescue for five years. Through my rescue work, I cared for hundreds of dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including puppies, seniors, special-needs pets, and dogs recovering from illness or surgery. I am experienced with administering medications, monitoring health concerns, and recognizing when a pet may need extra attention or veterinary care. I know that every pet has a unique personality and routine, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I will care for them as if they were my own. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide attentive care and accommodate a variety of pet care needs. Because I spend a significant amount of time at home, your pet will receive plenty of attention, companionship, exercise, and potty breaks throughout the day. I understand the importance of maintaining routines and will work with you to ensure your pet’s schedule, feeding times, medications, and preferences are followed closely. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a quieter environment, I can provide the level of care and attention they need. Safety is always my top priority. My experience running an animal rescue taught me how to properly introduce dogs, recognize signs of stress, manage different personalities, and provide a safe environment for pets with varying needs. I have a securely fenced yard and closely supervise outdoor time. I can also accommodate medications, special feeding instructions, crate training, and senior pet care.
“Jennifer was great with our 4.5 month old puppy. She took him outside enough that there were no accidents. Her dog and our puppy played endlessly. He slept great at night. This was his first time away. She was extremely flexible with our schedule. I highly recommend Jennifer!”

Since my schedule is very flexible, I can easily adjust my work hours and make time whenever your pets need me. Spending time with dogs truly brightens my day, so fitting pet care into my routine is something I enjoy, not just a job. my home, I have a fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely play and enjoy the outdoors. I also have three friendly, well-behaved dogs who love meeting new friends! If a quieter environment is needed, I can easily crate my dogs to make sure every pet feels comfortable and secure.

“Trooper has been a life saver for us and we will not use anyone else! We have two miniature dachshunds and our youngest one has epilepsy. No dog boarding facilities in town were willing to accommodate his medicine schedule. My sister recommended Roover as a last hope. Trooper was the only sitter with experience”

About: Lifelong dog and cat owner based out of Farmville. I currently have two six year old labs and two cats. All of my pets are highly socialized with other dogs. I have experience in sitting dogs ranging in size from miniature schnauzers to Great Pyrenees. My two labs are both male and littermates, so I also have lots of experience in keeping the peace! I have a large fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run and play. If you’d like any further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Dogs are out for an hour in the morning, an hour at lunch, and until dark after work (I will usually sit with them while they play or throw rope/ball). The cats make sure our household stays on a strict 7AM-7PM feeding schedule with little room for error before complaints are issued. As mentioned above, I have a large fenced in backyard where your dog will have plenty of space to move around. I have 2 6’x6’ kennels back there as well in case anyone needs a time out. I have crates of every size for guest dogs when I am not home and they stay in a separate area from my pets to further mitigate any issues that could come up. We have about 15 toys/ropes around the house/yard to choose from and never have any disputes. I am not responsible if your dog comes home to you fatter or more spoiled.
