“Sophia was excellent!! Starting with the meet and greet, she was an absolute pleasure to work with! She sent detailed and regular updates, including letting us know about anything out of the ordinary. She administered medications as needed and was very understanding of my dog’s anxiety. I can tell my dog was very happy, loved, and well cared for while I was away! I would absolutely use Sophia’s services again!”

“Kathryn was fabulous! She was attentive to our pup, sent lots of pics of a very happy pooch and was quick responding to my texts! We will definitely be booking with her again!🤗”

“Hillary was very communicative, flexible, and friendly. She was very attentive to our feeding/medicine instructions and communicated with me about what would be best. She did so much to help our dog, Marty, settle in. Marty came home happy and exhausted.”

“Excellent care. It was a sudden drop off, my dog was very happy. He was very excited with whole family. I got pictures almost every 1-2 hours. I felt so comfortable. Thank you”

About: I have had animals my whole life! I’m always happy to help friends and family. Life is better with fur babies! Happy to help. I am not working so I am available anytime. I can do drop ins, in home care or at my home. I have two miniature dachshunds that love to play and a beautiful neighborhood for walks. We have gates on our stairs to keep our dogs on one level. I have a crate if needed in my home to keep your dog safe.
“Rylee was welcomed and taken great care of. Leaving her with others is a big deal for us, Arie, Leigh and the kids took great care of her. They sent us pics and updates over the weekend, we felt very safe with her there.”

“Amy was fantastic! We couldn't have dreamt of a better short-term home for our dog. She took him out on trail walks and made sure he got plenty of exercise and love while we were away, and kept us updated the whole time. Very grateful and would absolutely board with her again!”

“Tiffanie is amazing, and cared for my dogs as if they were her own, she went above and beyond assuring they had a fulfilled wonderful day. I'm looking g forward to Tiffanie taking care of my dogs in the future!”

“We are absolutely thrilled with the care Ashley provided for Tilly while we were away. Her attention to detail and genuine affection for dogs made our trip so much more relaxing, knowing Tilly was in good hands. Ashley went above and beyond, and we would wholeheartedly recommend her to any pet owner looking for top-notch boarding services. Thank you, Ashley, for treating Tilly like part of your family!”

“Our Siberian Husky loved staying with Cory! He got lots of walks and play time, and settled right in once we dropped him off. I also appreciated Cory’s regular updates and responsiveness”

“Montana was great! This was my pups first time away from the family and she did amazing. Our dog requires medication with each feeding, and Montana kept her on track. For her time being away, I was amazed at how at ease she was when I picked her up. No doubt this was due to all the love and comfort she received. Montana provided updates and sent photos which put my mind at ease. Drop off and pick up were smooth and easy. Will definitely use again!”

“Alexandra and Logan were wonderful with my (sometimes overly) curious terrier, Eddie! I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”

“Caitlynn did a wonderful job with our little westie. Our dog has Addison’s Disease and Caitlynn was very attentive and provided excellent care. She even took the time to do some research online about the disease which was a testament to the care she showed our little guy. Caitlynn took our dog to a park regularly, provided frequent updates, and cared for him as if he were her own dog. It’s an easy thing to say that we will use Caitlynn again.”

“Danielle was amazing with our cat, Kinako! This was her first time being away from home, but it was very obvious from the pictures and updates that she was in great hands. It was also her first time being around so many other pets, but they were very sweet with her and she seemed surprisingly at ease :) We're excited to book with Danielle again whenever we're out of town!”

“Sylvia was willing to come meet and greet my cats when I had a last minute change and needed a sitter, and she was wonderful for the weekend I needed her! My two cats have different personalities, and she understood and kept me informed during her visits. I would definitely recommend Sylvia for your drop-in cat needs.”

“Analise is always my first pick for a sitter. She is sweet, caring, professional and trustworthy. I can leave my house with peace of mind when she takes care of my bunny, and he always loves to see her!”

“She was amazing. Tiggy loved her and she took such good care of her. And she took care of me by sending pictures and an update with each message!! Thank you so much.❣️❣️❣️”

“Hailey comes and checks on my 5 year old Lab a couple times a week. She always gives a good recap of the visit and enforces the manners I want from my dog. I will definitely keep rebooking with her!”

“Mary visited our cat for 2 days this past weekend and did a fantastic job updating us on how he was doing and on sending pictures! We had been very worried about leaving our cat home alone while he had feline influenza but Mary took great care of him and reassured us as his health improved each day. She was a blessing to our family and we will definitely hire her again in the future!!”

“Jamie was a wonderful sitter for our cat! She did all the necessary work of feeding and cleaning, but also just spent some time with him so he wasn't too lonely while we were away. We would definitely use her services again.”

“Another great week with Dana! Oakley loves playing with Red and her nephew. Oakley is also being socialized with cats which is a huge plus. Oakley is always happy to be dropped off and tired from all the fun when I pick him up.”

About: Lifelong dog owner with decades of experience caring for dogs both big and small. I work from home and am able to provide constant care and plenty of exercise. Boarders or daycare get at least 3 walks/day, dozens of photos, and lots of love of course! I provide toys, bowls, a dog bed, treats, poop bags and a backup leash. A tired dog is a good dog :) feel free to bring your pet’s crate if you’d like! I grew up with border collies and labs, then rescued my own dogs in adulthood. One of my rescues was a very sick 3-month old puppy that I raised, so I am well-versed with puppy care. I do not currently have pets living in the home, so your dogs will have the run of the place! I own my own home on a quiet circle street. My yard is an expansive quarter acre of grass with access to miles of mowed walking paths off my backyard. When a visit starts, I like to take the dogs on a “Welcome Walk” to get acquainted in neutral outdoor space. I prioritize safety and clear communication (with owners and dogs!) to create a comfortable experience for all. I look forward to taking care of your wonderful pets! I work from home, so I am flexible for drop-ins, last-minute needs, or regular walks, and can give your dog consistent companionship…and some fun of course! Rain or shine, I am happy to take them out. I provide a treats (if allowed), a dog bed, bowls, toys and backup leash (but I prefer you bring the leash your dog is familiar with!). Please feel free to bring a crate if you’d like to crate your dog! When a visit starts, I like to take the dogs on “Welcome Walk” where we get acquainted in the great outdoors. This allows me to build our bond in neutral space with plenty of positive stimulation for the dogs. I prioritize safety and clear communication (with owners and dogs!) to create a comfortable experience for all. I have used the clicker training method in the past, and do not believe in any form of domineering or physical correction. Your dog will have a stable experience here!
“Nicole and her family were warm and welcoming throughout the entire process. Great communications! My Nikko thoroughly enjoyed her stay with them. Super attentive to all her needs. You can tell from the first minute that she not only understands animal caretaking, but she also has great compassion for them. Would highly recommend her service!”

“We were so excited to have Jack with Arie and Leigh as one of our first tries with day care as they are so experienced with dogs in general but especially labs. All went very well, great communication and what a wonderful family and property for Jack to play and even had a furry friend! Will plan to use them again and very much recommend.”

“We dropped Oliver off while we stopped and explored Staunton on a road trip, Sam was super flexible and kind. I felt comfortable leaving him there and would 100% book again if we’re in the area!”
“Madison is great. I would not hesitate to leave my pet in her care again. My Jaxson can be very nervous without his pet parents but she handled him like a pro and he did seem to enjoy his time with her.”

“Margaret was the perfect sitter for our little dog, Hattie. From the moment that we arrived to drop off Hattie, Margaret met us with a warm smile and put us right at ease that Hattie will be well taken care of. Margaret updated us with pictures over the afternoon, and when we came to pick up, Hattie was was in a great, happy mood. We have no complaints with the experience, and would gladly leave Hattie with Margaret again.”

About: Hi! I’m a stay-at-home mom and lifelong dog lover who has been around dogs my entire life. While I’m new to Rover, caring for animals has always been a part of my home and family life. Whether your pup loves to play, relax, go for walks, or simply be near people, I’ll do my best to make them feel comfortable and at home. I’m happy to follow feeding schedules, medication routines, and any special instructions to help keep your dog’s routine consistent. I know how much pets mean to their families, and my goal is to provide a safe, caring, family-oriented environment where both you and your dog can feel at ease. About: I have been a dog and cat owner/lover/advocate my whole life. I miss having my own pets so much so I pet sit during our travels and while we are home too! I’m a massage therapist and energy worker so animals LOVE my touch and calming presence. I’m very active and love long walks. I’m totally comfortable with large dogs. I have retired early so my schedule is very flexible. I am happy to travel to pet sits. I tend to do pet sitting in Florida during the months of January and February. I love having dogs and cats in my home. There is a little river behind my house and the national forest and Sherando Lake Recreation Area is just beyond the river so there’s lots of space for long walks. Pets will get lots of loving care, tons of cuddles, and undivided attention while under my care and I will walk for as long and far as your dog (or cat) wants to.
“Kaleb had a great time at Amy's home and playing with Sylvie her pup. The dogs had a safe time and played HARD....he is now home and fast asleep. Can you see the smile on his face? Thank you Amy for making sure Kaleb had a stress free day. We will be back definitely.....”

“So happy with this host! Dogs have fun with other dogs. Comfy nap time and even a walk!!! Love the pictures!!! Could not be happier . I used to feel so guilty dropping them off at pet day cares but since I found this rover host I feel not guilt! .”

“Hillary did a fantastic job watching our dog for the day. She is great at communicating and flexible. With our drop off and pickup times. We would definitely use her again. We really appreciate her letting us know details about his day.”

“Cory did a wonderful job watching our dog for the day! He updated with a picture and let us know everyone was getting along. Our dog is often scared of strangers but Cory did a great job helping him feel safe and comfortable.”

About: I’ve had a dog my entire life except for a few very lonely months in 2020 after I lost the love of my life, Romey, the naughtiest lab with the best sense of humor. I grew up with labs (mostly ) but now have Gizmo, a labrodoodle , who will soon become BDE (best dog ever) if he can finally learn how to not jump like a kangaroo when he sees his dog friends. I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was young. I’d walk, feed and love on my neighbors and friends pets. I hope I will be the one you call and who you can trust with your furry BFF. Whether you have a long day at work or a weekend vacation, I’ll be there for you! I work part time on the weekends up on the mountain and have lots of time during the week to help out with your dog! I have a fenced in play area in my back yard and crates, dog beds and a designated “dog room” where your pet can relax in solitude or with Gizmo!

“Jaime was wonderful with Sophie and a pleasure to work with! She found a way to make things work that had at first looked like they might be a stumbling block logistically, and she made Sophie’s walk fun despite the great heat. We all look forward to our next adventures with Jaime!”

“Ripley underwent some big life changes recently. right after i started up a new job with a long commute, she lost her best (dog) buddy, who she was used to spending her days with. all of this meant Ripley was going to be spending 12+ hour days all alone. But then we met Dana, our Rover dog-walker! Now Ripley gets 30-minute adventures 2-3x a week, complete with photo updates and little synopsis of what went down on the walk. Getting the Rover notification, “Ripley’s been picked up for her walk!” is the highlight of my day. She’s in amazing hands, and I’m one grateful, teary-eyed dog mom. This looks and sounds like a Rover ad, but i’m not getting paid for it. I do highly highly recommend Dana - she is in Staunton. If you’re thinking, “my dog isn’t easy- she can’t be walked by just anyone” - that is exactly what i thought. Dana brings her husband on walks, and he can help manage the strength of a giant breed, (Ripley weighs over 100lbs) Also, if you think that your dog is too skittish to be walked by anyone other than you, I thought the same thing. Dana and her husband weren’t afraid of Ripley’s initial reaction to them. They stuck around for about an hour to wait for her to calm down and they gained her trust. They even introduced Ripley to their kids.”

I would love to give your pets love and attention while you are away! I am currently a stay at home mom, so I will be able to stop by any time, and take care of anything your pets need! I have experience keeping pets separate when need be as well as encouraging socializing! Whatever your needs are I can provide plenty of play and love!
About: As a child, my family had 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a parakeet. Throughout the years of my childhood, the amount of dogs and cats would go up and down with natural fluctuation from age. During middle school, my family began adding horses to the mix of the family. From middle school into high school, I participated weekly in rodeo competitions with my family and friends. When I was in high school, the parakeet passed from old age. The summer before my freshman year in high school we started acquiring more animals than just the horses we rode, and the pets we took care of. I actively worked with my older sister as she showed sheep, rabbits, and chickens in high school FFA. Throughout my higher education experience I have continued to own cats, dogs, rodents, reptiles, and horses. I have lived with and befriended people who own a variety of reptiles such as pythons, scorpions, lizards, and others. The farm has less types of animals occupying now due to natural causes, but I still maintain a strong love for all spirits out in the pasture and home. I have worked many years at various animal focused businesses such as Tractor Supply and PetCo where I have assisted people with understanding their animal(s) needs and taking care of a multitude of different animals, too. I have pretty flexible availability to administer animal care throughout the week. Easily available between 8AM - 8PM. Can provide care outside of those hours, but within reason and will gladly work with clients and animals as needed. I love to spend time with animals in my care. I am not a drop in and drop out person. I will spend at least the amount of time you request, if not more, with your pet(s) to provide attention, love, exercise, and meet their needs. I am an active participant during outside potty/play time and prefer to follow all rules already in place by family. You will receive a detailed note of all that occurs as well as multiple photos of your animal throughout my stay, unless otherwise specified by yourself.
“Thank you much for your services, Mary!!? For going above and beyond what was asked!!! Hopefully you will not mind taking care of Jordi!!!!? He was a handful but he was also in great hands!!!! Thanks again!!!!”
“Destiny did very well with my boys and was patient with Marco since he needs some extra TLC due to his past. She has always been punctual and good about giving me updates and keeping me informed. My boys will see her again. She's great!”

About: I've grown up with animals my entire life beginning with Mr. Blue the Himalayan Cat and Kahlua the Black Lab and all of the animals I've loved, worked with, and now become mama to in my adult life. I feel most at ease when I am around animals and consider it an honor to have the opportunity to love them as my own. Regardless of whether it’s a quick drop in or a longer stint. I can most often be found at home. Between kids, fur babies (both mine and others’) I stay pretty busy. I have a Golden Retriever who just turned 7 (though you’d never know he wasn’t still a pup) to play with and keep your baby company. There's space in my home to separate if anyone needs a break and I can easily crate if needed or desired. *Crating is for safety and comfort only, I do not use crating as as discipline. I work from home so there is plenty of room in my schedule for playtime, walks, pet-friendly outings and adventures, cuddles, feeds and/or any other specialized care your friend might require. I have an unfenced yard so any outside play will be leashed or in an enclosure. For additional safety, I keep a few dog crates on hand. They are available for pups that are crate trained, in case I need to separate, or even personal preference! Dogs are den animals so when used correctly, some of them (like ours!) love having a cozy space to relax. *Please note, I never use crates as “punishment” in our home, nor do I believe in or practice discipline of animals. I care for and love every animal the way I’d want my sweet boy loved and cared for.
“Very fortunate to have Hannah taking care of my little fur ball. Was a little nervous trusting someone but she was fantastic in the transition process. Very appreciative of the prompt replies to all my questions and concerns.”

About: My family has had pets all my life, and I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 13. I have experience with pets with special health needs as well as those with busy grooming schedules. I adore both cats and dogs and will treat your pets like they’re my own. I’m a grad student from Virginia with a love for animals! Most of my classes finish in the afternoon, so I have plenty of time for your fur babies! I am confident and comfortable with both dogs and cats, and am more than happy to follow any special instructions you need me to. I can easily crate your pets as well give them medicine and stick to feeding schedules. I also love to spend time with your pets outside by going on walks and playing in the yard.
About: I love all animals! I don’t have any because of my housing rules so I want to take care of your fur babies to get my animal fix! I am extremely flexible and caring. I take instructions well and am a fast learner. I am very observant, I will care for your home and pet like it was my own. I am also skilled in American Sign Language, as I am hard of hearing, and can teach your pet to respond to signs. I am also quick to respond with text in case of emergencies. I especially love puppies and kittens and am willing to clean up any messes. I am flexible on long term stay rates if you go on several day vacations. Thank you!

“Alyssa and Sean were so incredible at taking care of our dog! They walked him often, gave him lots of attention, sent us lots of updates and pictures, made him home cooked healthy treats (!), and overall went above and beyond to take care of our pup. He is probably disappointed to be home after having such a good time with them! We would recommend them to anyone and will definitely ask them to care for our dog again in the future!”

“Our family was going through a really tough time and Nadia came to our rescue! She treated our puppy like her baby and provided updates and pictures multiple times a day which made us feel so safe and secure. She even made scarves and necklaces for our sweet pup and made her feel like a princess. We had an issue come up where we needed to schedule extra days and she was so kind and accommodating. Our puppy was so sad to leave her. I’d recommend Nadia to anybody and everybody and I can’t wait to be able to book with her again in the future. She’s now my puppy’s godmother😅 and she’ll always be my go-to.”

“Basil was great with our 10 month old puppy! Very attentive and caring, and communicated with us when our dog seemed to not be doing well. Our dog returned home happy and healthy. We would definitely recommend Basil for pet sitting.”
