About: In our home your dog will receive a lot of love from our family and companionship from our two dogs. We have a golden retriever and a Bernese mountain dog. They are both 3 years old. We have bred each of them once and are used to having small puppies around. We have a large, fenced backyard for your dog to play safely. Your dog will be part of the family during their stay. We will take them on daily walks and will receive lots of cuddles. Besides intermittent outings, I will be home with your dog, the whole time. I have had dogs for many years, but I have dog sat dogs for the last two years. Your dog will be a part of our family. I homeschool my children and so we are home most of the time. We do have outings but are usually back within 4 hours. I can usually accommodate our schedule if your pet needs care more often than that, if I know in advance. I have a fenced back yard and two dogs of my own. I can also crate the dogs or separate the different areas of the house if there are any safety concerns.

About: With the exception of a few years during college, I have always had animals in my life! I grew up always having a cat and a dog in the house and taking progressively more responsibility for their care as I got older. Now, I'm owned by two dogs (a boxer mix and a lab mix) and two cats, one of which followed my boxer and I home one day and decided to stay. They are by far the best part of my day. With all these fur babies, I've run the gauntlet of pet care challenges, from pilling cats, to dealing with allergies, to working on behaviors like marking and excessive barking. I don't claim to have it all figured out, but what I do know is that it's made me incredibly patient and compassionate with any animals in my care. Plus I've learned a trick or two along the way! I currently work for myself (from home) as a research consultant. While I do have periodic meetings throughout the week, I usually have a significant amount of flexibility in my schedule during the mornings and afternoons. I often find myself going out on multiple long walks throughout the day and generally finding any excuse I can to be outside. So why not use that time to hang out with some new animal friends? My flexible schedule means that I can accommodate most any pet needs. I go for multiple walks every day both on my own and with my own dogs, so it's easy to incorporate lots of activity in your pet's day. I also have an enclosed front porch that we all love sitting outside in the shade on, just enjoying the fresh air. And on hot days, I even have a kiddie pool that one of my dogs likes to play in to cool off. Both my dogs are very friendly and would love to make new friends! One of my cats even enjoys horsing around with the dogs. My dogs have free reign in the house, but usually hang out with me. Potty before bed time and no pet will be left alone for more than 3 hours and if preferred never at all.

“Heather and her husband Jim own and operate Gigi’s Funny Farm in Catlett and are loving, caring sitters. It’s like a doggie nirvana with acres of land for your furry family to run and play and a cozy indoor rest and sleep area. I was apprehensive to leave my newly adopted pup, Josie anywhere because of her issues. Let’s just say Josie is “special” lol. Heather handled her problem behaviors beautifully. She has tons of experience and handled my problem child ha, ha with love and care. When we picked her up, she didn’t want to leave 😆. I wholeheartedly recommend you leave your furry family with her 💕”
