About: The house my parents moved into when I was only 4 weeks old was unfortunately a dumping ground for unwanted animals. Before I could even walk, I was cuddling with any animal that showed up at our door. This instilled a passion within me that I can finally turn into a profession. From Rescue and fostering to training dogs and showing horses, animals have always been a huge part of my life. In addition to my Management degree, I have an Associate of Science Degree with a major in Animal Science and a specialization in Agriculture. I completed an AKC handlers’ course which focused on reading your dog’s body language to understand their needs. Being so heavily involved in rescue, I have history and experience in dealing with reactive and/or selective dogs. I have many safety features depending on the animals needs including crates, double hung baby gates and 6 ft chain link fence that is separated into two yards. Remember, when you first meet a strange dog practice NO TOUCH, NO TALK, NO EYE CONTACT! *LICENSED AND INSURED* In my house we call it "FURniture" for a reason. I use the "crate and rotate" regimen as needed and for feeding. I also have baby gates at every doorway. My entire backyard is a 6 ft chain length fence and I have it separated into two secured areas for exercise. About: Edit: since beginning on Rover over a year ago, I have made many long-term clients and repeat customers that I have remained in contact with via other methods. I have kept up to 6 dogs at a time. My love for animals began at 8 years old with my two aquatic dwarf frogs named Rocky and Elvis and my hamster, Josie. In college, I fostered sick kittens from a local shelter. My first few years of living on my own allowed me to adopt my two cats, Piper and Blue. But it wasn’t until I moved into my first house with a yard that I knew I could provide a loving home for dogs, as well. I love all shapes and sizes, but big dogs have my heart. Currently my parents own an English Lab and a Chow Chow/ German Shepherd mix. Our first dog, Molly, inspired the paw tattoo on my inner wrist. I miss her every day. As for my cats: They have a separate space- but they’ve made friends with many of my repeat clients: Belle, Butters, Nova, Larry, Leroy, Doris, and many more! I am home Sat& Sun & after work (3pm) on Monday-Friday. I have a crate here in case your pup needs one while I am at work. I have a large, fenced in yard that dogs love to run and play fetch in. About: I am a fur mommy to an amazing little guy we call Charlie Brown! He is wonderful with adults and children alike! We would love to find him some new friends by watching your cute fur babies too! In my house, someone is always home, so your pet would never be alone! “Gretchen is OUTSTANDING!!! Gretchen kept our 5 year old sweet pup for 15 days and by the pictures she sent me throughout my trip I could tell she made him feel right at home! He absolutely loves being outside and Gretchen’s yard is the perfect place for an outdoor dog. He also loves cuddles and I could tell he was getting his fix. Gretchen was so aware of our dog and his needs and truly cared for him like he was her own. He was extremely well taken care of and loved throughout his stay.
