On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since childhood and professionally for 5 years. Dogs in my care are loved as if they were my own. We have a friendly one year old English cream who keeps us busy and loves to make new friends. I am currently home full time and available most days to walk or board your fur baby. We take our dog and yours on at least two long walks a day with multiple pee breaks in between. Our English cream, Frankie and his parents will keep your baby company and we’ll cared for. We both work from home and give Frankie lots of love and walks throughout the day. About: All my life I've loved and cared for animals. Cats, dogs, goats, chickens, cows, fish, you name it. I've got 20+ years of experience. The past 11 years I've discovered my love for bulldogs. I have a happy family of rescue frenchies, a Great Dane, a kunekune pig, goats and even an African Zebu steer. I have previous experience working in veterinary clinics. In my previous life I was a bloodhound search and rescue handler as well. I have experience with senior dogs, puppies, large and small dogs, cats and a variety of other critters as well. About: I kind of fell into the dog sitting fun. My mom used to “sit” with every kind of being from baby to dog before it became a popular hustle. “Ripley underwent some big life changes recently. right after i started up a new job with a long commute, she lost her best (dog) buddy, who she was used to spending her days with. all of this meant Ripley was going to be spending 12+ hour days all alone. But then we met Dana, our Rover dog-walker! Now Ripley gets 30-minute adventures 2-3x a week, complete with photo updates and little synopsis of what went down on the walk. Getting the Rover notification, “Ripley’s been picked up for her walk!” is the highlight of my day. She’s in amazing hands, and I’m one grateful, teary-eyed dog mom. This looks and sounds like a Rover ad, but i’m not getting paid for it. I do highly highly recommend Dana - she is in Staunton. If you’re thinking, “my dog isn’t easy- she can’t be walked by just anyone” - that is exactly what i thought. Dana brings her husband on walks, and he can help manage the strength of a giant breed, (Ripley weighs over 100lbs) Also, if you think that your dog is too skittish to be walked by anyone other than you, I thought the same thing. Dana and her husband weren’t afraid of Ripley’s initial reaction to them. They stuck around for about an hour to wait for her to calm down and they gained her trust. They even introduced Ripley to their kids.”
About: I've grown up with animals my entire life beginning with Mr. Blue the Himalayan Cat and Kahlua the Black Lab and all of the animals I've loved, worked with, and now become mama to in my adult life. I feel most at ease when I am around animals and consider it an honor to have the opportunity to love them as my own. Regardless of whether it’s a quick drop in or a longer stint. I can most often be found at home. Between kids, fur babies (both mine and others’) I stay pretty busy. I have a Golden Retriever who just turned 7 (though you’d never know he wasn’t still a pup) to play with and keep your baby company. There's space in my home to separate if anyone needs a break and I can easily crate if needed or desired. *Crating is for safety and comfort only, I do not use crating as a means of discipline. I work from home so there is plenty of room in my schedule for playtime, walks, pet-friendly outings, cuddles, feeds and/or any other specialized care your friend might require. I have an unfenced yard so any outside play will be leashed or in an enclosure. For additional safety, I keep a few dog crates on hand. They are available for pups that are crate trained, in case I need to separate, or even personal preference! Dogs are den animals so when used correctly, some of them (like ours!) love having a cozy space to relax. *Please note, I never use crates as “punishment” in our home, nor do I believe in or practice discipline of animals. I care for and love every animal the way I’d want my sweet boy loved and cared for.
About: I grew up taking care of a friend's dog. I would take the dog on long walks. I also fed him and taught him tricks. My mom is a dog walker and I often help her. Through this help, I have walked and fed a variety of different kinds of dogs. I have experience with adopted dogs who have had trauma. I have had experience taking care of friends' cats as well. A dog I grew up with lived a long happy life and towards the end of it, had a lot of health problems. Through my experience with him, I learned to take care of older dogs. He was a very very smart goldendoodle and needed a lot of stimulation, so I often played with him using dog puzzles and now have experience helping guide dogs through them. When I was younger, I had the chance to work with and ride horses which I very much loved. I am currently working part time while attending grad school, so my schedule is very flexible! I have a lot of availability weekday afternoons, and can do evenings and weekends as well. I feed pets, ofcourse, and have experience washing dogs. I like to intellectually stimulate a pet and try to teach them tricks with food or treats. The dog I grew up often taking care of required a LOT of intellectual stimulation. We would play all sorts of different games and I would teach him tricks. He required a lot of this attention, so we often used kibble instead of treats. One of my favorite parts of meeting a new animal is learning how they communicate. I will endeavor to learn how your pet expresses their needs and wants so I can best support them.

About: I have taken care of our elderly farm dogs for 2 years and a rambunctious new pup this year who has lots of energy! I have also helped my mom take care of her cats since I was 18. I am currently between jobs so this is perfect . I’m a very active person, I love walking and grounding in nature. It would be great to have some company on these walks! I have a fenced in back yard on a 3 acre land. I have a young dog named Charlie who is our farm dog, he is an excited rambunctious pup that helps protect our chickens, he can be crated if needed.

“Alexandra and Logan were wonderful with my (sometimes overly) curious terrier, Eddie! I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”
