“Im so glad I found Bertie and Lisette! They were gracious enough to accommodate my last-minute request and they are clearly pros at this. They were cognizant of keeping paws off the sidewalk in this heat and asked all the important questions. I’m always worried my pup will be sad the whole time I’m gone but her pups and their attentive care kept him smiling. I was so grateful to receive photos and videos while away too. About: I’ve owned both dogs and cats and have cared for several family members’ pets for over 20 years! I’m a huge animal lover and miss having one of my own. I’m a stay-at-home-mom of 3 kids so I have plenty of time to walk and play! My schedule is extremely flexible and I’m available on weekends. I have an unfenced yard and live 20 feet from the Crozet trail system, right next to Claudius Crozet Park. We don’t have any pets of our own but my three kids (ages 4, 5 & 6) are very active and will play all day with your pet. About: I’ve had at least one dog my whole life and at one point I've had 15! I’ve taken care of 13 puppies, senior dogs, golden retrievers, and pit bull as well as Rottweiler mixes! She had comfy beds all over that pepper took full advantage of, haha. She sent lots of pictures so we felt connected while we were gone. Everything went super smoothly and we would absolutely use Paige again! She even dropped off a little Christmas gift weeks later :).”

“Five stars are not enough. We recently visited Charlottesville from Atlanta to see our UVA student son and participate in the Charlottesville Marathon with him. We usually travel with Dexter, our very active golden retriever, but were not sure what to do with him before and during the race with such an early start. We were so very fortunate to find Heather, her wonderful family, and their amazing place here on Rover. We dropped Dexter off the afternoon before the race and picked him up the next day after the race. Communication with Heather was perfect during the booking process, leading up to drop off, during the stay--with great updates and photos, as well as on our way for a delayed pickup due to race traffic issues. Dexter easily settled with Heather and her family, and he got plenty of exercise. Dexter actually has a collar that tracks his steps and Dexter hit a new record during his stay that was nearly 3x his daily average (and remember we said Dexter is very active). Dexter was so welcomed and well cared for, when we arrived to pick him up he was happy to see us, but he honestly didn't seem very excited or wanting to leave, and knowing Dexter that speaks volumes. I almost felt bad reclaiming Dexter. It was a short visit for a long trip and weekend, but we left Charlottesville feeling very blessed and humbled by Heather and her family's hospitality. We are already looking forward to our next Charlottesville trip when Dexter can visit the farm again.”
