About: Hello I am Maura! I grew up in a very large family and we always had a dog. I have had four dogs of my own. I have done pet sitting and fostering for families, friends and a dog rescue organization. My husband and I are passionate dog lovers with 30 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and ages. I'm reliable, responsible, and dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment for your furry family member. I’ve always been drawn to dogs and spent years volunteering for a dog rescue organization where I gained valuable experience in caring for dogs with a variety of needs. My husband volunteered with me and together we made several trips down south in a large van to rescue puppies from puppy mills or older dogs scheduled to be euthanized for sitting in shelter too long. I offer in-home pet sitting, dog walking, and drop-ins, and I'm happy to administer medication, provide playtime, and ensure your dog's comfort and well-being. I have a strong understanding of dog behavior and am happy to provide personalized care based on your dog's individual needs. My hasband and I are both home every day. I am available to care for dogs day or night. We are very active and include dogs in our daily life along the Potomac River. Spending time in the yard and walking around the neighborhood are part of my daily routine. My home is pet friendly with a large, fenced yard. Dogs are treated as family members. I am open minded and will listen carefully to any specific instructions provided to me for your furry friend.
“When I picked up Jackson, I was not sure he wanted to leave his vacation with Kathryn and her wonderful family! Sure he was excited to see us, but, then he laid down next to Kathryn as if he was feeling pretty comfortable at her home! She sent photos and write ups daily and this made me feel so much better about leaving him in her care. It was like he knew the family forever! This was the first time we went away without him in 8 years so I was a bit anxious about leaving. I would have no problems leaving him again if I have another opportunity to do so. I highly recommend Kathryn and I know he was very happy being there and well cared for. He enjoyed his daily walks and never missed a meal and perhaps, Me!!!! If there were 10 stars I would click everyone of them!”

“It was obvious that Christine genuinely loves the dogs she looks after. She gave Gordon a no-rush meet-and-greet and let him get used to her house. She had lots of amenities for dogs, including toys and treats, and was careful to ask good questions about Gordon’s habits and preferences. Christine also gave daily updates including videos and photos, which really helped us realize how our little guy was fitting in. We would be happy to let Gordon stay with Christine again in the future!”

“We couldn't have asked for a more kind and loving caregiver for our two dogs. Lindalyn was a wonderful first experience for our dogs to have a sleepover at someone's home. Her own dogs were sweet and accepting and it was reassuring to receive her pictures and updates. We would definitely book a return visit in the future and would highly recommend her to others.”

“Tina was fantastic! She sent me text messages, pictures, and videos of my Boston Terrier, Lee Lee. Tina took Lee Lee to the local dog park for exercise and cuddled with her in the evenings. I don't think my dog missed me at all. I will definitely use Tina in the future.”

“Rose and her boyfriend are a godsend. They didn’t flinch at the length of time we needed them, nor that we had three dogs (2 chihuahuas and 1 Aussie). We were comfortable knowing our three girls were safe and happy while we were all the way in Alaska for 9 days. Excellent experience!”

“I am so grateful for finding Erin! She welcomed our Siri at the very last minute and didn't mind one bit. She was also understanding of Siri's excitement with other dogs. I received updates and pictures during the day while we were gone which made me feel at ease knowing Siri was just fine. I will definitely keep Erin in mind if we need to board Siri again. Thank you so much!”

“Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my dog while I was away. It gave me real peace of mind knowing they were in such loving and capable hands. Your patience, kindness, and attention truly mean a lot, and I could tell my dog felt comfortable and happy with you. I really appreciate the time, effort, and love you put into caring for them. Thank you again for everything!”

“Ashley did a fantastic job dog sitting Emma for me! Ashley was extremely professional and made sure to give me updates daily, including pictures of Emma. Ashley was happy to fulfill Emma’s daily routines as well as some extra care and attention. Thank you, Ashley!”

“Was very appreciative that Donna took Kodi at the last minute when her usual border wasn't available. She seems so pleasant. Kodi was fine. I will definitely use her again if necessary. I gave her a cash tip which I always do so that they can get full benefit of it.”

“she was very nice and made us feel very comfortable leaving our pet in her care. She communicated with us during our vacation letting us know how our pet was doing during her stay. I recommend her to anyone who looking for a sitter for their pet ?. I look forward to do business with her again.”

“Rebecca is amazing! She took the best care of my Garnet while I was away on vacation and spoiled her with lots of love and treats! I really appreciated the through updates everyday and the open line of communication we had ❤️ I will definitely be booking her in the future and recommend her to everyone!”

“TOP ENDORSEMENT: Pet care is Kimberly's career. This dedication & training are evident in her professional in-person demeanor and ease with animals. Kimberly sat my two male, semi-feral cats for a week and I couldn't be happier with her care. Food, water, and litterbox cleaning was EXACTLY as I asked. The aloof, don't-touch-me cat now adores her. She was even kind enough to water my money tree and stack my mail. Her expertise and depth of experience enabled me to travel completely WORRY FREE. Highly recommend!”

“Chelsea did a wonderful job! She was greeted with a puke mess on the carpet to clean up. So sorry about that! Sienna did well--as much as she does when I'm gone. I'm sure she enjoyed getting out for a walk.”

“We feel so lucky to have found Grace. She was clearly comfortable around a chaotic homestead when she came by for a Meet and Greet. She had no concerns with my dog that acts like an untrained puppy. She took great care of our barn cat, flock of chickens and ducks and chicks still in their brooder. We plan to hire her for all our trips!”

“Ellie G. is a great communicator with photo updates. The daycare day went well and Annie O was introduced to Ellie’s chickens and I’m sure she wanted to get a little closer but Ellie was great keeping Annie away from them. Annie also met Ellie’s dog and it appears that they both made a new friend. The day was a success.”
