I offer overnight stays in my home specifically for: Elderly pups and pups of all ages with special needs (Under 40lbs) who would not do well in a boarding facility. Your pups would be the center of attention in the house while they were here. We do have cats in the house, so please let us know if your pup has any issues with smaller animals. If so, we can still accommodate them, we would just have them in our dog-only area! I have a 'dog room' at home with a couch for relaxing and reading or gaming/watching Disney+ on our large screen TV, an echo dot that will play calming classical music while I am out of the room, and a padded floor with lots of rugs around for the older pups. When we aren't hanging out in that room, our house has hardwood floors with many rugs to keep paws stable, and tons of dog beds(of all sizes) scattered around for comfort. For potty times, I have a spacious fenced-in yard with plenty of shade! Meal times are at your pet's schedule! I make sure to follow any feeding and medication schedules you provide. My husband works from home, so if I am delayed due to traffic from an errand or such, he can let the pups out to potty or give time-sensitive medications/feedings. Pups are crated or placed in a separate room for Meal times and during Potty rotations to ensure no one gets too rowdy and no one becomes aggressive over their food. I currently work full time from home so I can watch them during the week day in my home and let out for potty breaks often! I can go to your home on weekends anytime and during the week after 4 pm. I have 2 very friendly dogs who love fur friends! And we have one girl who only loves her fur siblings but she keeps to herself and I will keep her separated from your animal. I have 42 acres to take your dog on long walks and play in our field. I will leash walk your dog at my house. We do let our dogs sleep in our bed so if your fur baby is used to that they are more then welcomed to sleep in our bed. If not we have an extra crate for night time.

My older Beagle, who I cared for for more than 13 years, had a seizure disorder and in the final months of her life, we administered IV sub-Q fluids to her every 2-3 days, so I have experience with caring for pups with medical needs and I can administer medication. About: What sets me apart from all sitters is my deep depth for all animals. As a child, I have always developed a love for animals. My love and compassion for animals spilled over into the education field working with students with special needs. Presently, I have four rescue cats, two classroom guinea pigs, and four dogs, one of which is a rescue. I volunteer with my country's animal shelter, and I have fostered and saved many animals. My love for critters is endless. I am a teacher, so teachers do not work in the summer. However, I do work teaching summer school and a camp in June. I can work evenings and remain overnight. “My big boy had the pleasure of staying with Furry Friends Academy over the weekend as I had to travel out of town for family business! Let me say I was very hesitant about using Rover but was in a bind so I did and I’m so glad I did! My big boy had the best time of his life! He got to socialize with other people, dogs and became really good friends with another GSD! I got so many updated pictures it was as if he was with me! Then I literally just got these picture they took of him! I must say I am beyond impressed with the level of care and love he got! About: Lifelong dog and cat owner based out of Farmville. I currently have two six year old labs and two cats. All of my pets are highly socialized with other dogs. I have experience in sitting dogs ranging in size from miniature schnauzers to Great Pyrenees. My two labs are both male and littermates, so I also have lots of experience in keeping the peace! I have a large fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run and play. If you’d like any further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Dogs are out for an hour in the morning, an hour at lunch, and until dark after work (I will usually sit with them while they play or throw rope/ball). The cats make sure our household stays on a strict 7AM-7PM feeding schedule with little room for error before complaints are issued. As mentioned above, I have a large fenced in backyard where your dog will have plenty of space to move around. I have 2 6’x6’ kennels back there as well in case anyone needs a time out. I have crates of every size for guest dogs when I am not home and they stay in a separate area from my pets to further mitigate any issues that could come up. We have about 15 toys/ropes around the house/yard to choose from and never have any disputes. I am not responsible if your dog comes home to you fatter or more spoiled.

“Katie was more than amazing! I have left our Doberman, Roxy, at various kennels, and other Rover sitters, but Roxy would seem anxious or would get sick after I picked her up from those places. Not with Katie! I felt that our furry friend was with family. It was clear that our naturally anxious dog has made a friend. She seemed happy and content and although she was excited to see me, she was not anxious or rushing to leave Katie's place. Katie sent many pictures and videos and it was clear that Roxy was being treated like Katie's own dog. I will be using Katie again. I recommend her wholeheartedly.”
