About: I frequently dogsit for friends and family, and I've had my soul-dog for 5 years! She's a rescue shepherd-husky mix and has taught me SO much about training and caring for a smart, high-energy dog! She's entering her senior years and has slowed down a lot, which means I have more time in my day to care for other pups, whether it's a check-in, walk, or boarding in my home. I have a fenced front and back yard, and with my location in Church Hill, there are countless places to walk and explore. I currently work from home 95% of the time! The other 5% is a mix of working at coffee shops and going in to my work's coworking space, but I'm never away from home for more than 8 hours a day. My days are very flexible and I'm happy to work around you and your pup's schedule! I have a fenced front yard that is grassy and a shady, fenced back patio/yard that pups can run around in. I only take 1 boarding or day-care client at a time, so your dog gets my full attention (alongside my pup!). Your dog must be friendly around other dogs for boarding or day care.
About: I have had at least one dog all of my life. Often times more than one. Currently living with just one Lab who would love a visitor/playmate. I foster emergency overnights on rescue transports. I have been a caregiver for dogs of all ages and kinds; puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with separation anxiety. I have grandcats I house sit for and have also taken care of chickens. I work from home with tons of flexibility. I have one adult child at home in graduate school, they have a health condition which keeps them home most days too, so your pet is never short of human companionship. I live in a great neighborhood for walks on a leash. I provide dog sitting in a one story home with a large, wooded fenced yard in central Richmond neighborhood. Great for dogs of all ages and abilities. I live with one Lab that's a large couch potato. He also likes his human to sit outside with him rather than be out there all by himself. So we spend lots of time outside together. Pets are permitted on furniture and the bed, whatever makes them feel at home. I do have a large dog crate that can be set up if needed, but only if requested as it will put your pet at ease. The most important factor is making sure your pet feels comfortable, keeping their routines and habits to lessen the stress of a new place.

My pets and your pet stay separated and will remain that way. A stay away from home is not necessarily the time to for your dog to be exposed to the stress of new animals. - My yard is fenced in well enough for small to medium dogs. - I host dogs up to 25 pounds. Calm dogs and senior dogs that weigh more than 25 pounds will probably do well in my home. - I focus on daycare and boarding in my home. - Guest dogs stay in my first floor tv room/playroom which has immediate access to the outside through the back door with no steps – great for senior dogs. They have the entire den to themselves, as well as a smaller cozy space (the downstairs office). - I have a dedicated cat bedroom: your cat will enjoy two cat trees and a view of beautiful trees, birds, and sunshine. DETAILS: I am a Richmond Public Schools teacher and a musician. A lifelong dog owner, I am the proud mama to rescue pups Bentley and Bo (my angel dog in heaven). I also have two charming, funny, and delightful cats — Gwen and Cricket. I live in a two-story, four-bedroom home with a fenced-in backyard near Westover Hills, Redd Elementary School, Lucille Brown, and Chippenham Hospital. We are close to a couple of dog parks, including Barker Field, and within a few miles of the VMFA, with plenty of green spaces to walk and relax in the fresh air. If you like, I’m happy to take your dog to Barker Field, where I will monitor your pup closely for safety. I have a large fenced backyard for safe, frequent potty breaks. Your pup will truly be cared for like my very own. Because I am a teacher, my summers are wide open for long walks, backyard playtime, cuddles on the couch, and plenty of one-on-one attention for your pets throughout the day. During the summer, I spend most of my days at home catching up on spring cleaning, gardening, yardwork, reading, and chatting on the phone. Your pet will have human companionship for most of the day, except for occasional grocery shopping and errands. I love ALL dogs and will treat your sweet one like my own. Dogs are precious to me. Boarding dogs will have non-stop loving, cuddling, and affection. If your dog prefers to sleep alone, they can choose from two guest bedrooms with lots of comfy hiding places as well as multiple dog beds scattered throughout my home. My 1/4 acre yard is fenced in well enough for small and medium dogs. Your dog will enjoy hanging out with me while I garden or read on a blanket in the backyard, sniffing all the new smells.

I live in an apartment and it’s dog-friend and the apartment has a dog area where they can relieve themselves. I live in a studio apartment but there’s plenty of open space where your pup can lounge around. I’m very attentive of your dogs needs, so I stay on top of taking them out for walks and making sure their water bowl is kept full and following their feeding schedule. Also open to grooming and showering your dog, especially if they are staying overnight with me. If your pup is energetic and loves to play we will be a great match!!
About: Hello! Our names are Darling and Kolby. We have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and a wide variety of breeds. We have plenty of space to host your dog, including a fully fenced yard where they can safely play and explore. We currently have two cats and a Golden Aussie of our own, and we grew up surrounded by animals such as Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, Chihuahuas, Poodles, and more. About: Hello there! I absolutely adore animals. I spent 3 years at the SPCA, working directly with the animals and fostering. My friends and I started our own rescue, SFC Virginia Animal Rescue. I know how hard it is to trust your dog is in good hands, and to feel happy, and safe. I love snapping photos and sharing with you all that me and your fur baby do during our visit, (and not afraid to inspect poop to ensure your pet is healthy and report when a concern.) My dogs have been through various trainings and would be happy to share my knowledge while I spend time with your pet. I have over 5 years experience with pets with medical needs varying from administering sub-q fluids to medications to inhalers for the cat-kiddos. My girl has hypo-thyroid and has to take a pill twice a day. With my experience with medically-needy animals I am hyper aware of the smallest changes in behaviors in a short period of time and can offer varying tricks with administering for the ones who aren’t big fans. Side note: I do have travel minute limit, for those east of 95, that is within the time limit if the $5ish toll is taken, otherwise it would take over 30 mins. If you are okay with an additional charge of $6 to cover toll, I will be more than happy to assist! I work from home so I get a lot of quality time with my babies. Where I see opportunities to train, I take advantage. Training is a daily on going activity. My animals eat twice a day on snuffle mats with a kibble and veggie/fruit medley. In short, pet care is part of my routine. When hired to do check-ins I like to spend my first time with the pet observing knowing I’m a stranger and I want to not overwhelm. I will read the vibes and either interact more or keep a distance depending on their body language and how they are reacting to me. I know pets sometimes have a tendency to be more reserved or hesitant to do their normal activities. About: I frequently dogsit for friends and family, and I've had my soul-dog for 5 years! She's a rescue shepherd-husky mix and has taught me SO much about training and caring for a smart, high-energy dog! She's entering her senior years and has slowed down a lot, which means I have more time in my day to care for other pups, whether it's a check-in, walk, or boarding in my home. I have a fenced front and back yard, and with my location in Church Hill, there are countless places to walk and explore. I currently work from home 95% of the time! The other 5% is a mix of working at coffee shops and going in to my work's coworking space, but I'm never away from home for more than 8 hours a day. My days are very flexible and I'm happy to work around you and your pup's schedule! I have a fenced front yard that is grassy and a shady, fenced back patio/yard that pups can run around in. I only take 1 boarding or day-care client at a time, so your dog gets my full attention (alongside my pup!). Your dog must be friendly around other dogs for boarding or day care.

We did a meet-and-greet beforehand, and she even brought one of her dogs to make sure Honey would be comfortable since she can be a little reactive around other dogs. Just before our trip, Honey unexpectedly needed stitches and had to wear a cone while taking medication every 12 hours. Le’Quitta didn’t hesitate—she happily took on the extra care, administered Honey’s medications, and gave us complete peace of mind so we could still enjoy our weekend away. Throughout Honey’s stay, Le’Quitta sent frequent updates and photos, and it was obvious Honey was having the best time playing with the other dogs. She even had her first positive introduction to a cat! Every picture showed a happy, smiling dog who was clearly loved and well cared for. In Your Home & On Walks: If I’m coming to your place, I treat it exactly like I’d want someone to treat mine. I stick strictly to the routine you give me for feeding and care. I keep a short, secure grip on the leash and stay entirely focused on the dog—keeping an eye out for hot pavement, heavy traffic, or stray dogs so our walks stay completely stress-free.
