During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. About: The house my parents moved into when I was only 4 weeks old was unfortunately a dumping ground for unwanted animals. Before I could even walk, I was cuddling with any animal that showed up at our door. This instilled a passion within me that I can finally turn into a profession. From Rescue and fostering to training dogs and showing horses, animals have always been a huge part of my life. In addition to my Management degree, I have an Associate of Science Degree with a major in Animal Science and a specialization in Agriculture. I completed an AKC handlers’ course which focused on reading your dog’s body language to understand their needs. Being so heavily involved in rescue, I have history and experience in dealing with reactive and/or selective dogs. I have many safety features depending on the animals needs including crates, double hung baby gates and 6 ft chain link fence that is separated into two yards. I also offer pet waste removal services. Feel free to send me a note if you have any questions. After a successful 25year business management career, I am now turning my lifetime passion of animal care into a profession. This year I started up my own business, "G'MA DOES". I offer a range of services from dog walking and pet sitting to animal waste removal. I like to stay active! While I have learned a tremendous amount of knowledge from multiple trainers, what I hold most dear is the ongoing information I take in from animal behaviorists such as Cesar Millan. Remember, when you first meet a strange dog practice NO TOUCH, NO TALK, NO EYE CONTACT! *LICENSED AND INSURED* In my house we call it "FURniture" for a reason. I use the "crate and rotate" regimen as needed and for feeding. I also have baby gates at every doorway. My entire backyard is a 6 ft chain length fence and I have it separated into two secured areas for exercise. Inside, one room is a dedicated cat room for litterboxes toys etc. The other two bedrooms will be dedicated safe spaces used for play, overnight stays, or whatever the situation calls for.
