We couldn’t have been happier. Denver was right at home, getting walks that he loves as well as plenty of chill time and attention from Jesse and Emily as well as their two girls. Jesse and Emily were great about sending us photo updates that let us know that Denver was comfy and happy. Denver is a finicky eater especially when not at home and they were great about paying attention and giving some treats here and there to get his appetite going. We would definitely leave Denver with them again!”

About: Please note we are in Troy near Zions Crossroads (about 20 minutes from downtown Charlottesville and 15 minutes from Lake Monticello). Hi, my name is Katina. I have been caring for dogs as long as I can remember. My earliest memories include setting up agility courses for my german shepherd in my backyard. To say I have a passion for dogs is an understatement. I recently quit my job to pursue dog boarding full time and I could not be more excited to spend all day with your pup(s)! We spend lots of time on play, exercise and enrichment. Our yard is set up similar to a dog park meaning we have two separate fenced areas for dogs comfort. We have one small fenced area (4ft fence) to accommodate small, elderly, timid and handicapped pups as well as a large dog park sized fenced area to accommodate more playful mid sized pups (6ft fence). We also have a whole home generator for added peace of mind. When the weather is nice we like to spend a lot of time outdoors Health and safety is our top priority. We have a zero tolerance policy for aggression. If your dog shows signs of aggression during their stay they will be quarantined for the remainder of the stay and not accepted back. In order to board with us your dog must be friendly with EVERYONE this includes children (even though none are present in the home, they do come and visit), the elderly, cats and other dogs. Please provide proof of rabies vaccination (I need a copy of the in date certificate that is signed by your veterinarian). Please ensure your dog(s) are free from fleas ticks and intestinal parasites. Our storage space is limited so please only bring food (put food in ziplock bag and write pets name on the bag) , medications/supplements, and a leash. We will provide toys, treats, bowls (we have a variety of sizes both regular and slow feeder), crates if your dog needs one and plush bedding. Please ALWAYS pack extra food. We will not be able to fulfill requests to withhold water from your dog, so if this is something you require please choose another sitter. Please provide an emergency contact who is willing to pickup your dog(s) in case of emergency. Drop-offs/Pick-ups are between 8A-8P by appointment only. Please keep pickup/drop off timeframes to a 30 minute window. About: I've had dogs my whole life and started dog-sitting for my neighbors at 9 years old. I love all animals, but dogs have a very special place in my heart. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including their feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions you provide. I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise, whether it’s relaxing at home, going for walks, playing in the dog park, or exploring nearby trails. In my home, your pet will also have the opportunity to socialize with my own friendly dog, who loves making new pup friends. I always keep a close eye on behavior and health to make sure they are happy and stress-free. Communication is important to me, so I provide regular updates and photos, so you can feel confident your pet is well cared for while you’re away!

About: Growing up, I walked and dog-sat for my friends and family. I also provided dog-walking services to residents in my neighborhood, occasionally helping out with training exercises. I'm a full-time student with availability in the evenings and on the weekends. I also occasionally have time in the middle of the day, depending on the booking time and my work schedule. I'm very conscientious, and I abide by the concept of leaving a place cleaner than how I found it. This means establishing clear locational boundaries and ensuring that the pet's safety takes priority, but also making sure that your home stays clean.
About: I have my own dog that I’ve been training since he was a puppy. I have experience potty training, giving oral medication and more. I grew up with dogs and have been pet sitting for friends and neighbors since I was in middle school. I have experience with large and small dogs as well as young and older dogs. I just graduated with a bachelors in biochemistry & Nutrition and Exercise at Virginia Tech. I’m now home living with my parents and have a very flexible schedule! I currently live in a house, there’s plenty of open grass, walking areas and even a fenced in back yard for any dog to run around in! I’m happy to assist you with your dog care needs in your own home as I know that’s where they’re often most comfortable!

I am always concerned about Eddie escaping to chase an animal, and they took my concerns seriously and took steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. Their fence setup was great too - the fenced-in yard wraps all the way around the house, so even if a dog slipped out of the house, they would still be in the yard. On top of that, they sent lots of pictures and were so kind to Eddie. He didn't want to leave!”

“We could not be happier with Heather’s care for our dog Bailey. We were nervous to leave him with a stranger because in his 5 years of life, he has only stayed with family. Heather was so kind to let us do a meet and greet a few days beforehand and I could tell immediately that Bailey would be happy. We were away for 8 days and I so appreciated the photos and communication she provided daily. We could tell her entire family gave him attention and he apparently made some good dog friends.
