“Saphire was GREAT! I forgot about booking my normal kennel for winter break, and ended up looking to Rover to find a place for my dog, Callie. I was a little worried about leaving Callie at another person's house; while she is housetrained, she has shredded all the dog beds I've gotten her in the past, and still gets into trash. She can also be aggressive with protecting her food, and become very defensive when around certain dogs. After reading a positive review of a similar dog, I contacted Saphire and she assured me that my dog was in good hands. Throughout the trip, I got picture updates from Saphire as well as a DVD of all the pictures and videos from Callie's stay there. Callie had a BLAST playing with Saphire's own dogs as well as the other dogs being boarded and fostered, with lots of outdoor playtime, and she was completely worn out when I picked her up. Saphire even managed to get a bath in before I picked Callie up, even though she hates baths! I would highly recommend Saphire, and definitely plan to contact her again next time I'm traveling!”

About: Hi I’m Joy! Welcome to our home. I have cared for dogs and pets my whole life and have professionally worked with dogs for the last three years as a self employed dog breeder, groomer and care giver. Our home is equipped to watch over several dogs at a time and multiple dogs from each family. My husband and I both work from home so our pets and furry visitors receive lots of love and attention all day long. I am a full time pet caregiver in our home so our routine is structured and flexible based on your pets specific needs. A typical day in our home looks like the following: first potty break by 7:00am to run around in our fenced in yard and enjoy the cool morning weather. We then rotate going in and out for food, playtime, training time, and rest time throughout the day. My main client had a corgi and we would walk around the lake in town 2 twice a day for an hour. He was an energetic and sweet boy. My other client had to leave for 2 weeks and I took care of there dog Fred being careful of his allergies to corn and chicken as well as giving him baths to treat his skin issues that he is now over. I wake up around 6:30 every morning and leave the house around 7am till 9am. So walking dogs or cats in the morning is a great way to spend my mornings, I usually spend walking alone. I am tentative to the pet through the time I am there. As well as understanding and compliant to the instructions and needs of the pet.

About: I’ve taken care of my pets as well as family pets since I got my first cat back in 2010 when I was 7 years old. I have my own cat that I take care of. I am known to stop in the middle of the road to convince strays they need to get in my car, and they usually do, if I can't find the owner I then take them to a non kill shelter to be cared for and follow up on every one. I feed my babies only the best food and only make or give veggies as treats, except for the beef/chicken broth (low sodium of course) ice cubes after a long hot walk. I have flexible availability and am always willing to work my schedule to accommodate as many people as possible without compromising time for the pups. I can do doggie day care, walks or drop ins. I can board 1 overnight but no more because I have to consider my pups well-being as well. They do love other dogs though. They enjoy the dog park a lot. I owned a cleaning business for 10 years and often cared for the customers dog while there and also boarded and/or sat with one of my customers multiple times. I am currently working from home on a flexible schedule so I have plenty of time to spend with the pups. Most of my time is dedicated to my pups and anyone in my care. About: I genuinely love dogs and grew up with at least 3+ dogs in the house. I have spent over 5 years caring for dogs of all personalities. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality, energy level, and routine so they feel safe and happy. Most days I’m finished with work around 10/11 AM and don’t return until 4 PM or later, which gives me a large midday window to focus fully on dog care. About: Brand new to this site, but not new to pet care! Please consider giving my services a chance. I have my own dog training/pet care business outside of this site but figured I'd sign up here to get some more reach. I have had animals of all kinds throughout my life time. From cats and dogs to rats and snakes, I've cared for a large variety of pets. There was even a raccoon I pet sat at one point! My true passion though falls with dogs! I grew up wanting to be a veterinarian but changed my career path when I found my love and affinity for dog training in highschool. Ever since, I have studied and researched dog body language, training techniques, and other fun interactive activities and sports that can be done with dogs such as canicross or dock diving! Now my dream job is to become experienced enough to train service dogs for those in need, while also running a board and train facility. Outside of my own pets, I've also trained/cared for puppies and pet sat senior dogs and pregnant dogs. One pregnant dog actually went into labor during the time I was pet sitting, so I have experience handling dogs in labor. Additionally. I have experience administering medications and am knowledgeable on how to perform CPR and the Heimlich maneuver on dogs and cats. I have had to perform the heimlich once on one of my own dogs when she began to choke on a treat she'd been chewing on. I currently work a full time job at a local pet store, but I work around my retail work hours to provide care for both my pets and the pets of those who entrust me with them. I wake up early to care for pets before work, I use my hour lunch break to care for pets and after work I make my way out to care for pets before going back home to take care of my pets. My days consist of nothing but pet care around the clock! While I am adaptable to any schedule or routine set by a client, here is my own general routine for my own pets as an example of my care: My own pets are on a daily routine. My dogs get let out in the morning to potty and play while I prep breakfast for all my pets (3 cats, 2 dogs). After breakfast, my doberman lays down in her crate for an hour nap to avoid developing bloat and my corgi goes back outside to play with my mom's dog. My cats typically will take a nap after breakfast and lounge around. After an hour, my doberman goes back outside to play and I will go out to throw toys and play fetch or tug with them all. At 2pm, the dogs all come in for an hour or two nap time and then are let back outside to play. Around this time I will take one of my cats outside on a leash to let him explore. My cats are all indoor cats and typically don't show any interest in going outside, but he does so I felt this would be a safe way to let him do so. I also intend to build a little catio window unit for my bedroom to allow my cats a safe way to experience being "outside" without risk. Due to all my cats being 10+ years old, they spend most of their day relaxing, sitting in windows and watching the birds and squirrels outside. At about 8pm the dogs come inside and usually settle down and relax until dinner between 9:30pm and 10:30pm. After all my pets eat their dinner, the dogs will go to their crates to rest until I lay down for bed and let them out to join me. Typically I would not leave my dogs outside for such a long time, however I am currently living with my parents to help with my mom's disability and my dad prefers the dogs spend more time outside. Because of this I do try to find days to take my dogs out on walks in parks nearby. When I lived in Oklahoma, I would occasionally take them hiking as well. Thankfully, my parents do have a large enough fenced in back yard that the dogs have lots of room to run and play when I'm unable to take them out for an adventure. Once a month I give my dogs an oral flea and tick preventative. Every 2-3 months I will also fully groom my dogs. I shampoo and condition their fur, trim their nails, brush their teeth, clean their ears and moisturize their fur and paw pads. Nail trimmings are done more frequently, at least once a month if not twice, to ensure their nails don't grow too long. They do a lot of running outside, which helps manage the length between trimmings.

“Saphire was GREAT! I forgot about booking my normal kennel for winter break, and ended up looking to Rover to find a place for my dog, Callie. I was a little worried about leaving Callie at another person's house; while she is housetrained, she has shredded all the dog beds I've gotten her in the past, and still gets into trash. She can also be aggressive with protecting her food, and become very defensive when around certain dogs. After reading a positive review of a similar dog, I contacted Saphire and she assured me that my dog was in good hands. Throughout the trip, I got picture updates from Saphire as well as a DVD of all the pictures and videos from Callie's stay there. Callie had a BLAST playing with Saphire's own dogs as well as the other dogs being boarded and fostered, with lots of outdoor playtime, and she was completely worn out when I picked her up. Saphire even managed to get a bath in before I picked Callie up, even though she hates baths! I would highly recommend Saphire, and definitely plan to contact her again next time I'm traveling!”
